I mean, I love contests… but the Magicka contest just reminds me of the fantasy one that they already had. I mean, the only requirement for the actual plot is that it has to be fantasy and contain magic. I for one just wish that they had a prompt or something less generic.

I agree they can get repetitive, but by there being few requirements, people can create stories that won’t be similar to others. If there were more requirements then the diversity of the stories entered will be even more repetitive then the contests lmao

While that is true, Izzy has a point. There’s nothing separating this contest from the Fantastical contest last year. I feel like they should at least have a prompt or an opening line or something like that. What you do with it is at your discretion, but I feel like now the contests are just ‘write a (insert genre here) story’.

This! This contest prompt is so vague! I know K&T wasn’t really groundbreaking but it at least had a prompt (while still allowing for creativity).

idk about broad, but we have less than 8 weeks to get our story finished. that’s not exactly lengthy is it
I mean sure, contest theme should be broad enough to stimulate different ideas, but it was never a problem. Like the Clue contest for example. It was somewhat specific, but still broad enough. Now it’s just a lazy thinking, and basically any story written in the fantasy genre fits… Looks like no one cared about it.

Episode just doesn’t care as long as they earn money with it 
I guess it is, but it also allows room for more creativity
To follow up with this point, maybe broad prompts are a good thing.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. I want to participate in it but I feel like I already did with my College Days story at this point. Maybe we should make up our own prompt contests? That is if it hasn’t been done already?

Holy chicken nuggets, I completely forgot about the Magicka contest.
I think the episode forum was a little dull but unfortunately it won’t stay passed in 2020 or 2021.
