john b: main character, narrator, 16 year old played by a 28-year-old, the padre died at sea and his uncle is MIA
kiara: she is a kook turned pogue, all guys have crush on her drama
jj: the best character very complex, quite a bit reckless and rebel
pope: smart one trying to get into … yale (?) or some good college
sarah: kook queen
topper: sarah’s boyfriend
rafe: sarah’s bro
episode 1:
john b was about to get taken into the foster system but then there was a storm and so that was a no
they find a boat that had sank, when john b goes down to get it they find a key to a hotel (while john b is underwater, the police are coming over very suspicious because they are in areas they aren’t allowed to be in)
john b and jj break into said hotel and find money and gun
after this john b kiara pope and jj get chased by guys with guns on boat
i can’t remember how he gets it, but at the end of the episode john b finds his dad’s compass ‘REDFIELD’ was carved into it
episode 2: (googling now i can’t remember as much)
john b and jj go to lana’s house (wife of man who went missing during the storm) when they get there they hear someone screaming at her asking where the compass is
they go to john b’s dad’s office and find that previous owners of the compass had died, whilst there they are chased by the people from the boat in ep 1 again
john b and kiara go to ‘REDFIELD’ lighthouse for clues and when they are there they get told about the Royal Merchant and where it could be, but when john b shows him the compass he’s like ‘woah what u doing get out’
then john b kisses kiara but kiara says no no friends only PLS
john b realises that maybe ‘Redfield’ is a person not place, then goes to visit Olivia Redfield (his great great great grandmothers) grave where kiara finds something crazy but they show in in episode 3
episode 3:
the thing found by kiara was a tape recorder and map from john b’s dad telling him that he needs to go for gold. gold = Royal Merchant which sank with $400 million worth of gold
Royal Merchant is 900 ft underwater but pope knows where to find a drone
pope gets beaten up by kooks, so he takes the plug out of their boat to get it to sink
at the end of this episode they use the drone and find the Royal Merchant

pogue : not rich half of town
kiara is a kook but she hangs out with the pogues and so is considered one of them
