If its 20 years, then Laurel (as the oldest of the BR1 character kids in BR2) would be 19 at the beginning of the school year, so then it gives more variability for the other kids of BR1 characters. So a BR2 character could be born 2 years after BR1 characters graduate and be 17 at the beginning of senior year.

Laurel is a unique case though. Most the characters would be 17 turning 18 during senior year, or 18 turning 19. Like its been in BR1

Like, someone could have started kindergarten at 6 years old instead of 5, which means they would start senior year at 18 and turn 19 (during or after graduation depending on when their birthday is).
So if that person would be held back a year for whatever reason, they’d be 19 at the beginning of senior year.
