I do think if they stayed together - there would have been resentment from Dorian because he wouldn’t have reached his full potential.

He asked her to leave with him and run away together because he didn’t care about the princess he just cared about her
And she told him that she loved him but she couldn’t let him do that because she knew he’d hurt his family in the process

Your ways of staying on a specific idea, no matter what’s said in response, always catch my attention. A clue, or fake clue, either means there’s something going on.
If she had just been able to figure out what to do just a little bit sooner, it could’ve been so different, but there just wasn’t a way for her to know what the right thing was sooner. If there was a I could have adjusted thins for her to have gone after him before, she would have, but there wasn’t a way that she would have at the point she needed to, because she never wanted/meant to play him and hurt him.
And she just thought not telling him would be the lesser of two evils… she would’ve told him later on… if they had ever gotten back together, she would have brought up the conversation…
