Oh without a doubt they would have been a cute/happy couple if they ever got together.
Because you have to remember - their “friendship” started on the basis of Jessica having a crush on him and him having a crush on her. So it was always possible.
BUT there is one reason that made me particularly say no to that being the end goal at the end.
