I’m imagining this really dramatic and unnecessary scene. He is a very sad boi right now and he feels isolated, it’s depressing seeing what he’s seeing. So when they get out he would just leave them, not like they would notice, and stay alone and be hurt ah, he deserves it 
So having a little moment to himself, again, he’d call someone he knows likes him, kinda or he thinks they do. Oh, Aline, it was her bday and he did msg her, so like a sad lil boi he’d be like “Hey, want to go out somewhere? To eat or something? Late bday surprise” but he wouldn’t sound like himself, he would try but nah
He just needs that daily appreciation or whatever
And don’t think about what you’re thinking
He’d be sweet and at the end he would probably say how he doesn’t want to keep doing what they’re doing because he doesn’t want her to get her hopes up or to end up hurt
