Leonardo Azure
It was no secret that despite Malachi Azure having passed on his control of the game over to Akielah, that her restructuring and revamping of the game from the ground up was being resisted at every turn. Leonardo never entirely stepped back from the reins. He simply took a more behind the scenes approach to an already behind the scenes position. His control over the game ran deep, and when it came to his children, none of them truly seemed fit to take over in the end. Elettra, well that was self explanatory. She was far too unstable and erratic to have possibly taken over, even if she had never done everything she did. Malachi? Well, from a business standpoint, he would have done well. Even when he was younger economics and people were clearly in his skill set, but despite everything he was capable of, he was a disappointment. He was far too soft, and reminded Leonardo far too much of the person he had once been in his youth. There had been a time when Leonardo tried to push his eldest son away from being that kind of person, perhaps for his own good, but perhaps also so as to not feel as though he was coming face to face with a younger version of himself on a daily basis. Then Raphael, that poor boy would never be cut out for it. It’d take a day for the position to eat him alive. Ria was the same way, not cut out for the position, and she was practically a child still herself, just a month away from her 25th birthday. She hardly knew anything about the game either. Then none of his grandchildren would even be options either as they got older it would seem. Not even Akielah, who by all means was the best person for the job. She had the brains, the guts, the cunning, the vision, she had it all, but her vision didn’t entirely align with the way the game had always been, and Leonardo couldn’t have the girl take on the Azure legacy. She was never supposed to be an Azure in the first place, she was just a mistake he couldn’t back out of, and he couldn’t let her be in complete control of Blue Royalty. Leonardo Azure still had a large hand in what would happen with he game, and with Akielah occupied at the wedding, there was an opportunity for something that was more than what she would approve of as head of the game. Well sorry Akielah, sometimes things slip past without approval and someone you care about gets hurt, thats just the way it goes. Now, in the aftermath of giving the final go ahead for that Blue Royalty blast, Leonardo Azure had found himself somewhere he hadn’t been in years. He had long given up the part of him that was that young man with that hopeful outlook on life, but there would always be a part of him that would want to see where things led when it came to one Adelaide Parker, or as she had been for the last 40 years, Adelaide Pierce. Perhaps a part of him just wanted to see the look on her face, knowing he’d have been the one responsible for the message, wanting her to see just how far he was from the person he had been when they were last there together there. Though, there’s no denying that there may also be a small part of him that just wanted to see her in person, to hear her voice, even after everything, but certainly part of that was tied in with the fact that Leonardo’s relationship with his wife, who was someone he had grown to care for and love over the many years they had been married, was not in a good place, and at that point not even Leonardo knew what to predict that Miranda would do as a result of the revelation of Akielah having been the long lost Charlotte Parker. Nothing was certain anywhere it seemed, so maybe that was why Leonardo decided to meet Adelaide for the first time in a long time. Whatever she had to say, it was sure to be a moment they would remember.
