Blue Royalty: New Blood

Out of everyone Phoebe could possibly have a huge fight with, her sister was not even on that list but here they were. And Phoebe was in shock listening to everything leaving Amelia’s mouth. Maybe if things were different, if there weren’t so many things Phoebe had to process because of that post, she’d have better things to say. Nicer, and not the first thing that came to her mind while she was furious. But on top everything, her sister really thought she would go behind her back like that and that was what made her even more furious. ”You’re not enough for me? What are you talking about?” Phoebe shook her head, looking at Amelia with both confused and p!ssed expression. ”I’m not judging you, I’m saying how stupid that is. There’s a big difference. I am judging your friend, that I will not deny but… Fck this,” whispering her last words, Phoebe chuckled to herself at how ridiculous everything was. Now starting to pace back and forth before this fight continued.

”Would make what different? And let’s not bring my relationships into this. WHY does that matter? I don’t want that… I don’t want serious. I… I can’t have what you can have and I don’t want to live in that illusion. That… has NOTHING to do with this, just… don’t.” With her voice breaking, Phoebe walked back to where she was sitting and once again sat down, her hands covering her face this time. No, Phoebe didn’t like to cry. It was rare of her to do that but that didn’t mean she wasn’t trying hard not to do that. She was. She’d just fight those emotions and now it was really hard. And you know what hurt more than anything else… knowing she was hurting her sister with every word. But there was one thing Amelia was right about - Phoebe really had no idea what was happening with their parents. What happened over the summer. Or when mom left. When… dad left? He left because of mom? Now she simply stayed quiet, still sitting down and just listening to Amelia, trying to piece everything together but… It didn’t make sense… Or Phoebe just didn’t want it to make sense because it was about her family. There just had to be an explanation… something more than… whatever Amelia was saying. What she said last caught Phoebe’s attention again. ”What?” Looking up at her, Phoebe’s brow furrowed and there she was, lost for words. Amie was just mad, she needed to calm down and everything will be fine again… right? Right? ”You need to go and chill out for a few. You’re being ridiculous.” Phoebe managed to say, shaking her head as her sister… well, cried. It was a weird situation… not being able to get up and comfort her but she wouldn’t even get a chance to do that because Amelie quickly walked away and left Phoebe sitting there alone.

What now? That was a difficult question. People would think she’s such a terrible person because of that post when in reality she didn’t do that, her sister already hates her but she just needs to chill out and her parents… Well, that will be one fun family reunion. Maybe she should find their borther? Hopefully he didn’t read anything but she couldn’t be so sure about that. And if he did he… shouldn’t be alone. His girlfriend shouldn’t be dragged into this whole mess… so Phoebe finally got up, taking her phone out just to quickly check what she looked like. She surely didn’t want to walk around looking like a complete mess… Gotta pretend like everything was perfectly fine. But her plans quickly changed when she saw her mom and she found herself rushing after her. What she wanted to do? She didn’t know… didn’t know what to say or ask or what to think but there she was… ”Mom?”

How lovely it is to be at a wedding. To watch your good friend find happiness again and for a moment forget about your own happiness… unhappiness. Everything seemed to be going fine, it was a beautiful ceremony until it wasn’t. At first Elodie ignored her phone when other people didn’t. She was just sitting there glancing around, almost confused. What had to be so important that everyone was now focusing on that instead of two people who just got married? She shouldn’t have known better but it’s been a while since she had to worry about that… Since she cared about that but should she really be surprised now? Noticing some people abruptly getting up and leaving, she quickly took her phone from her bag to check what was happening for herself with Lexie still in her arms. It wasn’t that bad at a first glance… first lines. Hey, her brother was expecting yet another baby… Yay? Yay, yes, she was happy. But as she kept reading she could see why this became messy… That was when she saw her daughter’s name and everything went down.

She was doing what? Her daughter was… what? Was it wrong of Elodie to immediately blame herself for that? Because of what her… husband told her not so long ago? Still… that was nothing like her daughter, but how should she know that? She’s the one who left but of course the reason behind that they didn’t mind to share like literally everything else that was in that post. Then they were blaming her other daughter for those photos and… Okay. A divorce. That was… yeah. Honestly, she wasn’t expecting that. Getting a divorce was a big deal and she didn’t even get a chance to fcking explain herself. It was not fair. It also wasn’t fair of Daniel to come to her and suggest the same thing. All this time that wasn’t a thing that ever crossed her mind so it was… heartbreaking to see she was the only one who thought like that. Now she was the one abruptly getting up and heading back inside but what was she going to do? Hell if she knew. What does one do in this situation? Find and comfort her girls? Too bad one of her daughters wanted nothing to do with her so why would it matter if she simply went back home? If one kid already hates her then she could deal with the rest of them hating her too. She just didn’t want to be there knowing everyone now knew how her husband didn’t want her anymore. How nice he was pretending to be while talking to her just an hour ago only to ease her into what was going to happen later and completely shatter her heart.

The only problem was Xander. He was here with his girlfriend and Elodie couldn’t just leave them here… but she had to get away. She couldn’t be here. She couldn’t cry here. Not now. She’ll just… come back for them later? Add another lie to her list of lies and say she had to go back home… Or maybe she’d send someone to pick them up… It was something she had to worry about later because now she couldn’t. Now she was to broken to think properly… Bouncing Lexie in har arms and trying so hard to keep a smile on her face, to smile at her baby while walking past people, avoiding their gaze… only to keep herself from crying. Here, in front of everyone. That she wanted to save for when she was far away from everyone. But it couldn’t be that simple, could it? At the very exit she heard one of her favorite voices. ”Mom?” No. This was not what she needed now. She wasn’t in the state to talk to anyone as much as she wanted to be there for her daughter. To tell her how it was okay… how everything was okay. She didn’t want her to see her like this… again. Freezing. That’s what she did… And when Phoebe didn’t say anything, Elodie quietly did, not turning to face her. She thought maybe Phoebe wanted to explain herself, say how she wasn’t responsible for such an awful act but… ”I know you would never do that-“ ”Do you not love dad anymore?” That she wasn’t ready for. ”Why would you say that?“ With hurt in her voice, she finally faced her daughter, trying hard not to let tears roll down her cheeks. ”I love him mor-“ ”Do you not want him?” Where was she getting this from? Oh… Of course. “Her mother seemingly left her father.” That’s what everyone read and thought. There was a difference between leaving someone because you don’t want to be with them, because you don’t love them and leaving because you had sht to deal with and had no idea what that sht really was. But she couldn’t say that now. If they were somewhere else, if this whole post didn’t happen maybe Elodie would talk about it… but now? Knowing her life was completely ruined and she’d probably be living with her parents once again with her family not wanting to see her she couldn’t talk about it. She physically couldn’t. ”You believe in that?“ Was the only thing she whispered before turning away from her daughter and letting her tears fall as she rushed out the building and went to find her car.
