Almost by reflex, Sadie gently held his wrist in order to subtly move his hand away from her again, looking back at the door with pleading eyes for Jezebel to come in. How was she just supposed to go along with this? When Sadie was still trying to live with losing him. “They’re c-coming, yeah, they-” Sadie answered though a shaky voice to the only part she could manage compose words for. Was this real? Was she going to wake up in a minute, and Jordan be back in today? If so, could it please happen sometime no-- 2029? Thankfully the Doctor stepped in front of Sadie to ask Jordan a few questions, covering Sadie and her jaw that had uncontrollably dropped at the number. December 2029. They aren’t divorced, they hadn’t gone to the reunion, Jordan hadn’t kissed Jezebel. Sadie was in the happiest time of her life. But that time… had very much passed.
Just as the Doctor left, Jezebel entered, to which Sadie gave a sigh of relief. Surely the sight of Jezebel would reverse all this, he would come back and remember his real life, his real love. And so she stood back, in hope that Jezebel would be the cure. That’s how amnesia worked, right? Wrong. Sadie exhaled the breath she hadn’t realised she had been holding as Jordan showed that he was truly stuck in that year. When Jezebel began to go through the same realisation as she had, she turned to Sadie to ask her what was going on.
How did Sadie explain to Jordan’s pregnant wife that he no longer remembered beyond the point in which he was married to her and the point in which… he hates Jezebel? “Jezebel…” There was a good place to start. “Jordan- I- he doesn’t remember,” Sadie continued, though struggle creeping through the words as it was information she still couldn’t quite believe herself, let along relay to others. “He’s- his mind is in- he think’s he’s in 2039,” She said to her, the final word coming out slowly as she knew that would probably tell her all she needed to know. That Jordan didn’t remember resolving, rekindling things with Jezebel. “Kyra and Justin?” She echoed after Jordan had redirected the conversation to her. “And-… Oh, my God. You don’t remembe—”
Annie slowly lowered her phone as she looked up at Ezekiel. She wished she could match the happiness that even he had about the news, though Annie could only think about how this was the beginning of the end. There was no coming back from what she had done, and Jordan would probably hate her forever. But at least we was alive hating her. “Yeah, I actually I’m good to accidently pass by the hospital alone,” Annie told him with a smile, trying to bring back the joke, like it was fine. It was fine. “Thanks though,” She told him, though she hoped it came across as being applicable to the resolution of their friendship from moments before. Annie then walked away, looking back for a moment, before leaving the building. Fvck, she probably should have said more.
But it didn’t matter when Annie pushed through the doors of the hospital, the corridor she had walked down several times in the past few weeks. There was a nurse waiting outside of her father’s room, and upon noticing Annie she began to approach her. “Mariana Williams, you’re Jordan’s daug-” “Yes, he’s awake, right?” Annie interrupted, frustrated, looking past her. “He is, though he is having some-” “Yeah, I fvcked him over, there’s some issues, I know, am I allowed in?” Annie asked with raised eyebrows. She had waited weeks and this nurse was not going to make her wait longer to give her some diagnosis list. “Of course you are,” She told her before stepping to the side, “But you should know that he-” Too late, Annie was already inside.
The quiet room was quickly disturbed by Annie’s abrupt entrance. She didn’t stop to acknowledge who was in the room except for Jordan. Her mother, who Annie had just walked past, took her arm trying to say something to her, but Annie immediately brushed her off to be in front of her father - why was everyone trying to fvcking get in her way? Well, maybe she wished they had because suddenly standing in front of Jordan she had no idea where to start. “I-” Sh!t, sh!t, sh!t. What the fvck was she going to say? “I didn’t want this to happen, at all, I didn’t mean for i- but this is my fault and- I’m sorry,” She started, letting there be a pause of silence, before words came flooding back out. “I’m sorry- I’m so- I understand if you wan- if you hate me, and if you want to–” Her sentence was quickly cut off though, not by herself again, but by him.
