Nothing, no amount of preparation could have ever prepared Jezebel for this. Jordan’s words were just the beginning. There was a coldness in the way he looked at her, in his words. None of it was right. There wasn’t the warmth, the feeling of home and safety that she always had with him. Then Sadie’s words… Jordan’s memory… 2029… It couldn’t be… no, that would mean that Jordan didn’t remember everything… the babies, their wedding, the reunion… No, no, no… Jezebel stood there for a moment, practically frozen. The most she could manage was a slight shake of her head, wishing that is was all a bad dream, covering her mouth with one hand to avoid letting out a sob, while the other rested against her belly. The situation was only confirmed when Annie entered the hospital room, and Jordan didn’t even recognize her. Jezebel didn’t have much of any relationship with Annie, but even that was painful for Jezebel. She knew how much Jordan’s kids mattered to him, how even though she was the one who got Jordan hurt in the first place, Jordan would still love her and want her to know he cared about her, but she was simply treated as a stranger… Jordan’s own daughter was a stranger to him, and Jezebel… she was someone he thought betrayed him…
[color= #049fe0]“I’ll… I’ll go…”[/color] Jezebel squeaked out, trying to not completely breakdown. She felt sick, head spinning, heart beating like it was about to break. She had barely stepped out of Jordan’s hospital room door by the time her vision was blurred by tears. For a while, she didn’t know how long, she was simply crying and trying to remind herself how to breathe. Then she spoke to the doctor, which only made her feel worse. [color= #049fe0]“There has to be something… something to help him remember. He’s my husband… I need him, but he doesn’t remember… he thinks he hates me…”[/color] Most of Jezebel’s words came out barely intelligible, and afterwards she couldn’t have even repeated any of what the doctor said, just that they would let her know when there were any updates on his condition. She just needed to go home, and not be alone… anything that would lower her stress…
