Richard has been asleep for a while now, well actually he was taking a nap since he woke soon after Elijah left the room. When Sammy went after Eli, she sprung from the bed which, along with some of the noise, woke him up. The pillow was still soft and the room was dark. Waking up here, alone, left a sour taste in his mouth because once you wake up you expect the birds chirping and sun beaming into your eyes, as if poking your eyes until you finally open them. He slowly remebered what was happening while waking up, even though his eyes were open for a while already, he wasn’t quite there yet. When he realized what had happened and that his one night stands were obviously not in the room with a door so hastily closed it was practially open, he figured they left. He was quick to put his clothes back on and got out the room as soon as he had a shirt and trousers on, putting his coat over his arm and his tie in the inside pocket of the coat, he was ready to move. Leaving the room he saw both Sammy and Elijah there and they did not seem happy. Maybe they felt as awkward seeing them afterwards as the two of them felt about each other. But he then remebered they used to date or he heard something about it, so it must’ve been even more awkward for them. As much as he wanted to steer clear of being seen and fleeing the scene asap, he couldn’t let something slide.
He heard some blonde woman insult Elijah’s father. He didn’t know what it was about, he was asleep when the website was updated so to catch up to speed he skimmed through it. He realized that Elijah’s father scammed some rich people out of their money. And after thinking about it for a minute, her response angered him, so he came over to her just to yell at her. Richard doesn’t have much confidence for things in his life, he apologizes a lot, but when this annoying glorified clerk thought she was right to call out somebody for their parents’ actions, and when it was somebody he doesn’t want to se embarrased or hurt anymore than he already seemed tonight, he had to cut in.
“Excuse me, but if you call it like you see it, maybe you should see an ophtamologist.” Richard said angriliy as he walked up. He was ready to defend by words and he walked past Elijah and Sammy, not even saying a word.
“Becuase what I see is a girl insulting a man for his parents’ actions instead of the man whose doing it. Also what gives you the right to insult a person you know nothing about except what you’ve read in a tabloid? What are you even trying to achieve here? Do you think anything will change if you tell his son what you think of his father? What could a measly glorified clerk do anyways to change it? Plus, how bad is it really? What Elijah’s father is not the worst person doing it and if you ask me, he’s stealing from the rich who already have too much money. Why aren’t you wasting your breath on something bigger? For instance, online scammers who ‘sell’ pills to elders. Their lives are at stake here and people don’t seem to be as irked as some guy who told rich people he’d give their money to charity and rid them of a couple of milions. Who does it really hurt? Really selfish people who don’t need the money that’s been taken from them. And when it comes to Elijah here, despite his father doing a morally and legally wrong thing, he’s grow up into a far better person than the likes of you could ever become. And no, I wasn’t reffering to money … Not when you insult a child for their parents acomplishing absolutely nothing. One can only wonder if you could accomplish anything in your life if you think telling Eliajh here his dad is a piece of sh’t would change anything.” Richard finished his speech and took a long breath before turning to Elijah “Mate, you’ll have to continue this one, I just woke up. Don’t worry about your father though Elijah, I’m sure the smart ones will know not to think poorly of you because of your father’s actions. At least I won’t. I’d distance myself from the ones who seem to think so, like this woman here who read a tabloid and she thinks that makes her worthy to insult whoever she pleases.” He turned around to glare at her as he said the last line and then turned back to Sammy “Are you guys leaving? Don’t let a website ruin your prom, if you’re worried about strange looks, we’ll down a drink to deal with it … What do you say guys?” Richard didn’t seem like he was pleading or pushing a decision, but he really wanted them to stay and forget about their worries. They made him feel so included that he wanted to spend the whole night with them especially after he realized Elijah needed to relax after that announcement.
