Athena could feel themself flush as soon as Luna started telling them that they were better than Elijah, though they wanted to tell themself that it was just the alcohol. “Exactly. He was a phase and you need to forget about him.” They counselled before taking another sip of their drink. Aside from the fact that he was their cousin’s ex, they knew absolutely nothing about Elijah, which made it extremely for them to pass judgment on him and basically just tell Luna what they thought she wanted to hear.
In the hot tub, Luna began lamenting the fact that her hair got in the way of them seeing her eyes and her seeing theirs. Athena put their hands on the side of her face, then pushed them up, acting as a makeshift hair band for the girl’s bangs. “There,” They said, satisfied by their work. “I will be your hairband.” They added, giggling as they looked into her now-unobstructed eyes. The more they stared into her gaze, the more they felt this pull toward her and they leaned in, not even noticing when their lips collided with hers.
