Immediately, when Alex started talking to Logan he knew that she would be able to help him. To be there for him no matter how he felt, no strings attached. Logan replied to the fact that Alex’s fake father was an asshole, and that what happened shouldn’t have. And she was right. It ruined Alex.
He nodded when she talked, looking her in the eyes. It was clear that he was hurt. His whole body showed it, and all he wanted was a distraction. For someone to make him feel better. Someone that would care about him, but not care that whatever they did was… Anything. With that, Logan’s hand was placed onto his thigh and another pulled him in closer until they were connected by their mouths.
For a bit, he did forget about everything. Only thinking about how Logan’s lips felt on his, how her hand felt while moving every now and then against his jeans. His hands almost ended up in the same place hers were, one on her knee and the other behind her ear to hold her head in place. Running out of breath he placed his forehead on hers, mumbling out a “thank you” towards her and drawing a little circle on the knee his hand rested on. He couldn’t begin to tell her how much he appreciated her for just being there for him, always.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw Amelia sitting on the other side of the cafe, talking with the girl from the counter. The girl from the counter kept motioning towards the two, as if she were talking about them. It was possible she remembered Alex from when he and Amie came to the cafe, although it’s been months. Maybe that’s what she was referring to. He couldn’t think about her anymore. He was done. She didn’t reach out to him and when she did, she asked him why he was being weird. I wonder why Amelia, I wonder why. Maybe that was the reason he slept with a new girl every week, or… every day maybe while he was away. He was sad, sad that Amelia wouldn’t listen to his pleading before. Sad that his best friend wanted nothing to do with him. Maybe thinking about other girls would stop him from thinking about Amelia.
Bringing his attention back to the girl he was… well, currently attached to he began to speak again. ”I don’t know how to than-”
Alex was cut off when a loud screech came from across the cafe, coffee spilling across a table onto the floor and a… laptop in the air? Yeah. There Amelia was standing above the table, holding her laptop upside down as coffee dripped from it. Oh sh^t. People rushed over with napkins, trying to mop up the mess that was now everywhere. Normally, Alex would help. But… he can’t. He wouldn’t. She couldn’t even be bothered to send him even one message while he was gone, asking if he was okay, asking what was happening. Maybe if she did, everything would be okay. Alex would be sitting in the booth with Amie, looking at whatever it was she was doing on her laptop, keeping their feet close to one another under the table. He continued to just stare at the mess, and the frazzled girl who held her laptop in fear. All he could think about was the last message he sent to her, basically telling her to fck off and that he didn’t want to talk. That was true, he didn’t, he couldn’t care about what she did anymore. But at the same time, somewhere deep inside of him, he wanted to go talk to her, to apologize.
”So uhm…” Alex cleared his throat, trying to get Logan’s attention back to the two from the chaos. Well, maybe he wanted to get his attention away from it. Same thing. Logan always knew about Amelia and the situation, and Alex was worried she would tell him to go talk to her now. To help her.
