Atlas smiled when she said his accent was. He really didn’t get around much and his friend group really only consisted of Henri and a few other co-workers of theirs. Maybe that’s why he was so responsive to everything this girl said. He perked up when she mentioned that she was from California. Just like… He shook the notion of his head. There were so many people in California, there was very little chance that she would know the person he was thinking of. “I’ve been to California before.” Been there, fallen in love there, same difference. Really, he was just trying to relate to her. “It’s really nice.”
“A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” He said with a wink. Cliché? Very. Complimenting her seemed like a nice thing to do though. Give her a good first impression of him. He took her hand when she offered it, shaking it. As soon as he could, his father had taught him the importance of a good handshake and so Atlas had developed a politics-worthy handshake by the time he finished elementary school. “Enchanté.” He added as he released her hand, smiling when she waved in Henri’s direction.
He nodded when she told him that her school was on a senior trip now. “That makes a lot of sense actually. I’m assuming you just arrived today, then?” He asked, thinking out loud at the end of his sentence. He cocked his head as she mentioned this Blue Royalty whatever it was. The same sounded vaguely familiar but not enough that he could confidently say what it was. “Well, I hope it wasn’t too bad for you but if you don’t mind me asking, what’s Blue Royalty?”
