Blue Royalty: New Blood

He bonded with her over amusement parks, and then actually helped her learn a bit of french! “Okayyy, period.” Persie congratulated herself. Lowkey, she just wanted to tell him to whip out his oui oui, but she had to be civil around the baby, so she tried to keep it PG. Also, that move would be absolutely rizzless, and Persie was the rizz god. “Thank you for teaching me.” P grinned, batting her eyelashes just a little. She felt as though she had done most of the flirting in the conversation, so she spoke a bit dry to give him room to talk.

Aw, he also complimented his coworker. But he seemed to be choking on a misguided laugh. Okay, we get it! Persie is unfortunately not the brightest tool in the closet (sharpest in the shed, but she doesn’t remember the actual expression.) But she was very people smart! And mentally ill, so it would be a mistake for any man to reduce her to anything less then a psychoanalyst noticing his every move. No pressure! He proceeded to talk about croissants and… pain chocolates? “You say that so cute, qwa-sogh.” She teased him, returning the sass in the most appropriate way possible.

Persie was shocked to hear that he had a similar experience. She only had one question about his situation; If he was so self aware, why did he seem so okay with it? He seemed to know that he should leave, but just hadn’t gotten around to it or something. Surely, Persie would have understood more of what was happening if she was still going through all of it. “Oh… well if you don’t mind me asking, what’s she like?” She said. The girl knew from experience that if someone outwardly told him the situation was wrong, he would most likely deny them adamantly. So she had to be gentle, and let him hear his condition out loud, even if she already presumed what he might say.

The idea of staying in something like that for a single minute disgusted her now. And frankly, it was beginning to feel like another lifetime. Careless, spontaneous, messy persephone did not exist anymore. She couldn’t. Yet she was still the same girl as she was then. Her mind evolved, but her heart did not change, so she couldn’t help but feel an empathy for the poor, confused guy, wondering if he was like her, too. Granted, this kinda thing must not have been as frequented under his circumstances, but she wasn’t going to let the possibility slide under her radar. She had been through too much to allow things like that.
