Blue Royalty: New Blood

Phoebe started talking, protesting to what Clara had just said, but then cut herself off mid-sentence. What she said next, Clara had not expected. She actually apologized. With a smile and everything. Surprised at both the apology and Phoebe’s attitude, Clara raised her eyebrow, trying to think about how she should respond. Before she had the chance to say anything, Phoebe began walking her towards the school, having put her arm underneath Clara’s. Her suspicions began rising as the other girl started going on about tea.

“I’ve never been much of a tea drinker,” She responded, wondering why Phoebe was so concerned about her choice of morning beverage. “I just prefer the taste of coffee.” She added, not that it was any of her business. They walked until they reached the lockers and Phoebe whispered to her about keeping her mouth shut and not spreading false information. She looked down at Phoebe’s hand as she fixed her shirt and looked back up with her eyebrows furrowed as Phoebe asked if she was doing a good job.

So that’s what this was about. Clara was now fully aware of the motivation behind everything that just took place. “Oh, I haven’t told her,” She responded, trailing off as she ran her hand through her hair, shaking out her curls. Her tone was innocent, as if she wasn’t aware of what she was responding to. Yet. She added on with a smirk, putting emphasis on that one, three-letter word, reminding Phoebe of the power that she held. She couldn’t deny that she enjoyed having something she could hold over her, something she could threaten to expose at any time, whether she was actually going to go through with it or not.
