Imagine dancing — well, twerking, to one of the oldest songs in the charts with your very much younger brother as you make Belgian waffles for dinner. Or don’t. That’s right, for Aj he didn’t have to imagine. In fact, he was doing that right now — singing into the cooking spatula, tossing the chocolate chips towards his brother Logan’s mouth… and missing very badly. After all, he had an event to go to overnight and every second with his family was pure bliss for him. Had to get that brotherly bonding in.

“Whyyy do you have to go!” Logan whined, throwing a fit as his brother tried to walk away from the dinner table. He had many meltdowns. But Aj was used to it. He could handle anything Logan threw his way because he had to. Plus, Logan was truly his best friend. No one could surpass his love for him. Well, fairly. Adlai explained in a very interesting way — earning a sniffle and nod in return. He comforted Logan. Taking a few moments to let him regain his composure, telling him everything would be okay and that Betty was here if he needed anything.
Adlai James looked in the mirror one last time to put the final touches on his halloween costume. A Greek god. Out of all of the options he had, he chose a Greek god. I mean, it was better than the ninja turtle option, I guess.
He looked at his group and tasks and let out a small laugh as he arrived at the scene. “This will be fun…” He muttered, not truly convinced that it would be. Though, the fact that this place was haunted AND they were being challenged to stay the night did seem pretty thrilling.
”Hey Addy,”
He laid his things down neatly, claiming his sleeping spot and getting some flashlights ready. He looked up at Hera, raising a brow as he slowly stood up — tossing his top tier emergency bag over his shoulder, packed with everything he needed. “Hi Hera.” He said, tilting his head. “Hera, the Goddess. Wow, it just aligned… oh my gods, that was pretty in character, don’t you think?” He said, laughing at himself — thinking it was funny. When… poor boy, it was not. Embarrassing actually. But Aj wouldn’t notice. He did not care whatsoever. The fact that he’s so unfunny sometimes just makes him hilarious.
“I would say nice costume, but today I’m not really f%cking with that divine rule sh!t.”
He widened his eyes slightly, taking a bite out of the apple in his hand – this random apple that practically came out of no where. “Was that a diss, ma’am?” Adlai asked, feigning a look of hurt. “You know, that’s pretty cool that you can make clothes, though. I couldn’t.” He said, giving them a compliment and a sweet smile.
“We should find our group… I’m sure Phoebe will be here soon. And about that one? Get along or ill bite your finger off like a piranha.” He teased, serious about the first part though. It was a shame his best friends couldn’t get along. Honestly, Aj was looking forward to this. Maybe it would help the two find their inner peace?
