Blue Royalty: New Blood

Laurel laughed slightly when Raph commented that he still didn’t really know who she was dressed as. The movie was what, 60 years ago, and took place like 80 years ago? Even if it was still well known as a musical, it was one of those where most knew of it, but not the actual characters or had seen it. Laurel needed a costume and from a search of ideas and what she had on hand she was able to dress up like the 50s and adjust it to fit a specific character so it wasn’t just generic. Though when he said she looked amazing she smiled. “Thanks, handsome.” Laurel said with a smirk. It had been a while since she had spoken, like this especially, with Raphael, but she couldn’t deny that it was nice to be flirting with him again. “Just planning on having a good time tonight.” Laurel answered, her gaze once again trailing over him before returning to meet his eyes. “Gotta say though, the thought of a bit of fun with someone as good looking as you is very appealing. That is, if you don’t have plans with someone else?”

The boy shook his head with a light smile at his friend’s comment, partially disagreeing though who was he to know. ”Dont be silly you’re really good” he said ”the fact that I’m more famous than you for now means nothing it can change” he shrugged

And then he offered the two go to the happy couple which wasn’t the worst idea out there. Clearly only because they were in their group of course of course. ”Yeah sure why not ” he said in agreement

”Talking to her about what? ” he asked glancing at Zek again with a raised brow ”The Elio Paige situation? ” he added ”I don’t know, I mean I was with her when she saw it it happen, but I don’t really know what else to say there she keeps going back to him even though he proves himself unworthy every damn time ” he shrugged

The initial weirdness between her and Mason seemed to dissolve with time, which was nice. She still didn’t know just as many people around the school but she could give mason the fact that he was a really nice guy, also super attractive but that’s a whole other story right there.

”I ran into some of those earlier, might not be as useful though” she chuckled glancing around as she spotted another person in a doctor costume

The girl giggled lightly at the cheer comment ”Definitely something it like to see” she said ”Not that I’m hoping you lose but it sounds like it’s worth the loss” she added with a light playful smirk. Clearly as family values she was definitely hoping he’d lose, just for the fact she was rooting for her cousin. But if it wasn’t one or the other she’d be rooting for him as well. But we don’t do that do we?

”You can’t scare me” she said ”I may look delicate but I don’t get scared away that easily” she told him with a smile ”but you can try. It’s not like I have anything better to do” she added with a shrug. She didn’t really know the rest of her group that they seemed to be walking towards, but technically she didn’t even know mason well either, so it was quite a foreign land considering she and Veronica weren’t on the same team. But she looked at it in a positive way, after all she needed to get to know some more people and not be glued to her cousin 24/7, right? Right.

As he asked her the next question she went quiet for a moment looking away ”Um… well,” she started quietly ”My parents… died. So since I’m still 17 I had to find another guardian and there the Parkers came into the story because they’re pretty much the only family I have left” she told him, something which not that many people who weren’t close to her knew, most of them just knew she came and moved in with her cousin, not the actual reason. But it’s not like she had anything to look innit

Could anyone really blame him for flirting with his ex all over again? I mean, have you looked at her? She was damn gorgeous, not to mention her personality wasn’t bad either. Sue him.

As she talked, a smirk came to his lips as she trailed over him and spoke up, turning his smirk into a smile ”None of the plans I could have beats this one” he said with a wink ”You sure won’t find me complaining ” he added ”Want me to get you a drink?” he offered, running his hand through his hair

Eddie smiled as he saw that Tsumuji seemed interested in what he was doing. When she asked to see he nodded slightly, clicking a few buttons to show a snippet of the footage he had just recorded. “Yeah, sure. Its not much, but yeah…” Eddie wasn’t great with people, but film was his passion, so if someone seemed interested, no matter how well he knew them, he’d find the words to talk about it and show what he was doing. As he had said, it really wasn’t that much, as it wasn’t for a certain scene, but held the camera to let her see the clip. It was a relatively simple entrance to the scene, done to give the viewer an insight into the setting, but leaving enough unknown to wonder what could happen in this creepy environment. Of course, the clip needed editing and proper audio to go with it, but simply the camerawork was a start. Then when she asked if he had a bad feeling, like something was going to happen, Eddie shrugged. “I… I don’t know… It’s Halloween… the whole day on its own can make you feel that way…”

” I’m sure that was a difficult decision to make, I’m honored to be the winner,” Elio shook his head while he continued to make eye contact with her. Now, that’s where you are completely wrong. It is a landslide win always when it comes to you This wasn’t a lie. He would choose her over any other girl here in a heartbeat but when she made him feel like he was second to someone else then he had other motives. Keeping the conversation light was the plan but when she had to bring up her little ‘boyfriends’ soon after she told her how he was feeling, his smile faded and he couldn’t help but roll his eyes, letting out a sigh from his lips. Yeah, right. They were in a group and Elio did like Zek but JP just annoyed him. There was also the fact that he did not trust him one ounce at all. There was just something about him that made Elio suspicious. Sure, they were her best friends and Elio would never tell her to stop hanging out with them, but it was once that they were strictly friends too and see how that all went. Sometimes he wondered if it was the guys or Lenora that he trusted less but it always came back to the other guys.

Needing a drink was even more on his mind now than ever especially since he would have to be with this group for the night. He wanted to spend time with his girlfriend, alone. Not with her two guy friends. Thought a different conversation was a little more important but I see where I rank on that list He was hurt, that was showing through the tone his voice had changed to. Earlier cheery and in a trance with her to now saddened and a little upset even. But sure, go with your boys As she turned to JP and Ezekiel, Elio followed suit only to see both of them staring at them. Do they really not have anything else to do other than talk about Elio? I’m sure they will welcome you with open arms and a kiss if they could and me, a stab in the back. Elio thought to himself as he looked away from the two guys and down at her. He wanted to plead his case as to why they should just say screw it to Blue Royalty tonight, be with each other tonight, and not the whole group. Figure their sh!t out finally but no. She wanted to be with them for this dumb party.

Hartley She told this person who was just as go with the flow as her. Though maybe he didn’t see the pettiness in her actions and that was okay also! He told her how hers might stain and that didn’t matter to her, it was a costume that she would never be wearing again after tonight. You are? she had cut him off about talking about the stair to learn at least someone’s name here. How are you when you drink?” Actually, I don’t drink very often so I’m pretty much a light weight she admitted to the stranger.

Denise smiled warmly while looking at Adonis. “I’ll get you your drinks guys.” She said cheerfully. She actually didn’t much care if Adonis’ drink got spilled, but she decided to try bring him his drink to him. She walked away and noticed how Adonis only picked the conversation up. ‘That’s rude’ she thought ‘he coudl’ve just said something instead of pretending I wasn’t there.’ At this point she realised she doesn’t want to talk to him, but she has to find some way to get him away from Napoleon because he’s the only thing stopping her from talking to the only person at the party she knows. She decidedd to do something, but she would do it later, at this point and time she was focused on getting 3 drinks from one side of the room to the other withouth a tray and withouth spillage and with too many people in the room. She managed to get it across by carrying it this way . “So, Napoleon here’s yours” she said as she handed him a cup. She looked at the only black drink in her hands and said “This one is mine, obviously.” and she gave Adonis his drink “And here’s yours.” She looked him in the eyes trying to see if it’s worth pursuing, but she gave up and turned to Napoleon and said “Cheers!” While rising her glass and took a big gulp of her jeger and coke waiting for Napoleon to try his.

“Hartley? Well now I’m a bit more confident about my name.” He said. Jackie didn’t realise he didn’t give his name back until she asked him for it and he gave a facial expression that is the equivalent of a faceplam. “Oh my god, did I not tell you my name? Typical, I’m Jackie … I know, I know, sounds like a girl’s name … Blame my mother she wanted another girl so she had to make do.” He continued “But I can’t belive you don’t drink much. You seemed to me like a person that can drink quite a bit and is usally fun at parties. So, does that mean your first drink won’t be an alcoholic one?” He asked her if he could get her a drink, but didn’t ask it like most men do so she would know he wasn’t trying to get her drunk like most men who use that line.

@Madilfill

A start to a sh!tty night had clearly just gotten sh!ttier. Enrique’s mood was already down - his leg being a big part of the issue since he couldn’t do much but stand around… or lay around if you know what I’m getting at . And now there was this - finally a party Ricky could go to and he was stuck with his ‘older brother’ (who may I say, didn’t act much older) who was frustrating the hell out of him. Did no one understand what moving the hell out of the house and staying away from his brothers meant? Simply: leave him alone. Diego needed to learn how to read between the lines, just like he needed to do so with girls he liked. There was a fine line and Deigo simply didn’t know where to stand. Well, Enrique could answer that - stand the hell away from him.

“Oh boo hoo, Diego. Get over it - we don’t all get what we want in life. So maybe I am acting like a stranger - have you ever considered… I don’t know… leaving me alone? Because If I’m being fcking honest…” There was an anger in Ricky’s eyes that weren’t there before they started this walk. He found himself stopping as the girls walked ahead, looking Diego straight in the eyes as he uttered his next words. “…maybe I don’t want to be in this family anymore. Got it?” With that, Ricky started walking again - keeping his lips sealed as he listened to the voice of the girls ahead of them. Did he regret the words that left his mouth moments earlier? No… what was the point in living with regrets. Just move on. Everyone else did.

He knew his sentiment about Phoebe would hit a few wrong strings, mostly because Ricky knew his brother was hopelessly in love with the girl who barely gave him the time of day. Was she worth it? Not in Ricky’s mind but Ricky didn’t believe that any girl was worth that much trouble. Not anymore. “If you want someone to watch your back, Diego, get Raphael to do it. That’s not my job anymore and honestly, it’s such a damn relief to not worry about anyone but myself. Here’s the thing that I don’t think you’ve really understood yet. I don’t care if other people watch my back, I just don’t need it. I don’t want it either. So take your savior complex back to mom and dad, I’m sure they’re so damn proud of their golden-boy son who can actually follow their rules just like I’m sure dad’s just waiting for you to join the force so you can hunt criminals together. Whoopee. Honestly, it’s adorable how much of a hold they have on you… brother,”

Tell her I will have the same thing as you.

So f-cking childish. Leon thought as he playfully rolled his eyes, smiling at Adonis. When Denise left to get their drinks, Leon turned himself to completely face Adonis, chuckling at his ‘school of drama’ comment. “For the record, the two of you are pettier than my 15 year old sister and her friends, which I didn’t think was possible until today.” He quipped with a smirk, gesturing between his friend and the direction Denise left in. “But yeah, I think something’s going to happen. Especially since we’re in these groups. Something tells me we’re in them for a reason.” He agreed with a small nod. When Denise came back, he turned himself slightly so that he was facing both her and Adonis. “Thanks. Don’t call me Napoleon.” He said as he took his drink from her, his tone cold. He knew that it was probably a bit harsh, but he wanted to make sure that his point got across.

“Wow you and your mom are really close…”

“Wellll…”
She scratched her head with a sigh. “I guess you can say that? I would say overprotective…”
It was true that she and her mom seemed to be close to other people, but it wasn’t exactly the truth. Luna explained that Greese was one of her movies. “Really? It is a good movie. I watched it about two times. Who’s your favorite character?”
She asked curiously. “Mine’s is obviously Sandy. I can relate to her.”

So is there a Danny to your Sandy?”

Karen chuckled. That was the same thing she thought about leading all the way up to halloween. She honestly wished she had someone to couple up with in this costume. “Nope, but I don’t think I need one.” She said, even though she thought the opposite.

“So, do you want to go explore this supposedly haunted mansion?” Karen said while looking around the area they were in. “I would rather do it with someone else than alone.”

“Yeah, sure. Its not much, but yeah…” Tsumuji giggled a little at his awkwardness. He seemed to not be really good with people unlike Tsumuji, she was really good with people and love talking. She almost loved talking more than she loved to write and writing was her passion. Moving forward, Eddie moved the camera to let her see what he had done. Tsumuji stared at it, shaking a little- it was creepy, the setting, it looked like a scene straight out of a scary movie… the only thing it needed was an audio and it would be even scarier and probably add some more things. She smiled at Eddie after she was done looking at it, “WOW! it’s amazing” she complimented, “I really love it. Do you have any more?” She asked tucking a strand of her hair behind. “I… I don’t know… It’s Halloween… the whole day on its own can make you feel that way…” He shrugged, “Yeah but…” Tsumuji paused, she didn’t want to ruin his mood if he thought nothing bad would happen and it was just the feeling of Halloween… So instead she gave him a bright smile, “Your right.” She chuckled, “It’s probably just my imagination.”

“For the record, the two of you are pettier than my 15 year old sister and her friends, which I didn’t think was possible until today.” Leon chuckled, “Hey! She started it.” Though technically he started it by asking Leon a question that could have been answered by Denise herself as she was right there- but then again he wasn’t asking her and she was being petty by doing the same thing he did to her. “But yeah, I think something’s going to happen. Especially since we’re in these groups. Something tells me we’re in them for a reason.” Adonis nodded, “What do you think the reason could be?” He asked curiously. Denise came back and he rolled his eyes.

“So, Napoleon here’s yours” Adonis instantly snapped his head towards Denise, then looked back at Leon. He knew that Leon doesn’t like being called his full name. “Thanks. Don’t call me Napoleon.” He said with a cold tone. Adonis took his cup from Denise and drank his drink, “Whew”

Lenora’s eyes fell on Elio, sighing as she picked up on the subtle change in emotion when she brought up the rest of the group that happened to be JP and Ezekiel, two of the… many guys that Elio had an issue with. Blue Royalty knew what they were doing. ”We’re doing this now, really?” She tried to ask warningly, though it came out more so in a pleading manner after his sarcastic tone and eyeroll. Another persistent issue with their relationship: how Elio continuously made his unnecessary jealousy, towards… literally anyone, abundantly clear and it became a continuous topic of arguments between them.

Not answering her question, Elio continued to remark on her brief mention of joining them. ”Okay, so we are doing this now,” Lenora said mainly to herself through a sigh as, even after the numerous breaks, Elio’s feelings towards… JP in particular would never change. Her eyes uncomfortably circled around those surrounding and looking at them, including the rest of their group. ”I’m sorry, Elio. But it’s just the game, please don’t make a big deal about it,” She tried to regain the eye contact to actually get through to him, but Lenora could see at this point it was too far gone and his jealousy had taken over.

”They are not my bo- would you please just leave this alone?” Lenora asked him for the last time, the initial statement being cut off by her sigh at his accusations. Turning away from him, she began to approach their group, despite Elio’s wants. That is, until he made yet another comment to which she turned again. ”Yeah, I’m actually sure they will, Elio, because that’s something they would always do, and something that you continuously fail to do,” She finally retaliated, knowing that a statement in favour of JP and Zek would strike a nerve.

“Oh did you now? Please tell me you didn’t take any of the medicine they were offering,” he questioned, a joking tone playing upon his voice as she pointed out yet another doctor. What was it with this town and pill popping… oh yeah… rich people had to spend their money somewhere. Mason, personally, didn’t fall under that list - drugs simply wasn’t something he wanted to do. As the conversation moved over to her wanting to see him in a cheerleading uniform, he sighed, scrunching his nose. “Well, Oliva… I hope you have an amazing imagination because I do think I’ll beat your cousin. Trust me,” he was confident - was it bad to be? Confidence had got the man through the last 4 years of his high school career and it would likely continue to hold him throughout the rest of his life.

“Are you sure about that Liv? I can be a very, very scary dude when I want to be. Just ask any police station who see’s the color of my skin. I’m a dangerous man,” he joked - though the underlying statement in that notion would always hold true. But it was always easier to joke around than brush past that conversation. However, any joking the man would share dissipated the moment she mentioned her parents died. “I’m… I’m so sorry Olivia,” how does one… respond to that? His heart dropped for the girl with her words and he found his hand going to her shoulder, attempting to provide any sense of comfort - though not to a point of making her feel like he pitied her. “Hey… look I know I can’t be that much help but if you ever want anyone to talk to that’s not family… I’m here.”

“You think my sister has unfinished business?” Her dead sister, in general, was not a subject she let her brain venture to often, and so this idea that her soul might still be roaming around, not able to rest, was pretty unsettling. She did die young though… maybe there was truth to what Embry had said. “And your grandmother?” She added. “As for positively haunting… Wholesome. Like, in the movies, the ghosts are always trying to make your life a living hell, so like, the opposite of that. Less attempts of possession and more talks and stuff. Maybe useful for closure? I imagine it as someone trying to get your attention, but like, in a friendly way? Kind of like ‘hey, I’m still here, and I love you,’ type of energy.” Dai glanced at Embry, smiling slightly. “I don’t know, I think that’d be kinda nice.”

Her heart squeezed at Embry’s words, and not in a good way. This squeeze was laced with spikes, causing blood to pour out of hundreds of puncture wounds. This conversation was triggering her fight or flight, and though she very much wanted to flight, Dai knew if she left now there was no guarantee that she’d be able to talk to Embry again. So, she fought the tears that threatened to fall, her feet remaining planted. “I know,” she forced out, looking at the floor. “I know what happened, I just- you weren’t- nothing about it even included you. It’s one thing to punish me, to punish Demi, but you had nothing to do with it. It wasn’t remotely your fault.”

She didn’t deny it. That was the thought that replayed in her mind, the fact that Embry didn’t deny hating Daiane. Her heart broke. She had known that she had ruined their relationship, but hearing the evidence… tears rolled down her cheek, but she hastily swiped them away. “I didn’t…” What else could she say? What would it do, if she explained that she hadn’t known that that was why Demi had called her for help? Regardless of her intentions, this had been the resulting consequence; it didn’t matter what she had thought initially. “I know and I’m sorry, Bry. If I could go back I’d change almost everything about that night, but I can’t and now we’re here and it’s all my fault.” Her voice broke and she paused, taking a breath. “I didn’t want to involve you—I didn’t want you to get blamed or anything. But you are, so clearly I f^cked that up too.” A short, humourless laugh escaped her lips. “I wasn’t thinking. And I hear myself, and I know that’s a sh!t excuse but I don’t know what else to say.” She looked up, finally, meeting Embry’s eyes. “I know you don’t want my apologies but. I’m so sorry. For everything. I just- I really wish everything was different.”

“No but it’s part of the reason I came. I came here to give a little spook to someone.”

“Well yeah, she died really young, right? There had to have been something that she wanted to do and never got the chance to.” She answered, shrugging. “Yeah, my grandmother used to spy on her next door neighbour because she was convinced that he was hiding something. She died before she could find out the truth. If she’s haunting anyone, it’s him.” She explained with a small giggle, remembering how she and her mother would always find her grandmother sitting inside her curtains, watching this neighbour’s house. She listened as Daiane continued to explain her ‘positive haunting’ idea. “That does actually sound pretty nice.” She commented, agreeing with her.

As Daiane continued talking, Embry found herself unable to do anything but listen to the girl she once loved. The longer she listened, the more she could feel her throat tighten and as Daiane wiped her tears, Embry began fighting off her own. As much as she wanted to stay angry with Daiane, to continue to convince herself that she hated her, watching her fall apart was agonizing. When Daiane finally met her gaze, something snapped in the back of her mind and despite her better judgement, she found herself pulling the other girl into a hug.

“Dai…” She whispered, finally finding her voice as she continued to hold onto her. She sighed, blinking back the tears that were beginning to fall from her eyes. “You have no idea how much I wish we could go back to the way things were. What I would give to still be able to hold you and call you mine.” She confessed as she let her hands fall, taking a step back before delicately wiping away her tears, trying not to completely wreck her makeup.

“Well”

Karen scratched her head and sighed, “I guess you can say that? I would say overprotective…” Luna gave her a soft smile, “You should appreciate that she cares about you this much, before it’s too late.” Luna told her friend, “Sure you mom might seem annoying with how much she cares about you but just make the moment last before it’s over.” Luna awkwardly held a hand out “P-promise me you will do that.” Luna wished she could have spent more time with her mom before she passed away and with her dad before he married her. Luna seriously took them for granted, huh? Well she wouldn’t let her friend make the same mistakes as her.

“Really? It is a good movie. I watched it about two times. Who’s your favorite character?” Luna shrugged, “I guess Sandy.” Luna didn’t really have a favorite, but if she had to pick… then probably Sandy.

. “Nope, but I don’t think I need one.” “Well is there anyone in school you would like to be your danny?” Luna asked trying to keep the conversation moving. “Like any crushes?”

“So, do you want to go explore this supposedly haunted mansion?” Luna froze, “I would rather do it with someone else than alone.” Luna sighed, Karen got scared easily unlike her and she was her friend… “Why not.” Luna shrugged
