“Ok, great. We have a pool, so that works out. Just let me know a couple days in advance. Also, are we starting from scratch? Like, can you tread water? I just want to know just in case I need to get floaties.” Tyler really hoped he wasn’t embarrassing her, but he needed to know just in case something bad happened. Personally, he was embarrassed himself, having to ask those questions. He nodded. “Yeah, I’ve been told he was awesome.” He pulled into the venue, parking and getting out. He walked over to the passenger side door, opening it for Karen. “Yep. You ready? If you ever need it, we can step out for air.”

You know what can be kinda depressing? Going to prom solo. I mean look, every time there’s a slow song, what’s someone supposed to do when they come alone? Dance awkwardly by themselves, pretend to dance with an invisible date, there’s really not a whole lot of options there. Nevertheless, Bree was not going to miss out on prom. Date or no date, she was going. Awkward dancing and a prosthetic leg weren’t going to change that. Unlike most of her classmates who either drove themselves or were picked up by their dates, Bree was dropped off at the venue by her dad, who was still worried about her. She was genuinely fine, but there was nothing she could say to stop his worrying, especially not after the ongoing situation that was going on with her uncle Jordan, who had been in the hospital for so long, was experiencing some significant memory loss. Which was something that even was tough on Bree in a way. It wasn’t nearly the same extent as what her cousins, or Jordan’s wife Jezebel, or even what her aunt Sadie was dealing with, but he still didn’t remember a lot about her either. Even after Jordan and Sadie divorced in the first place, he was still family to Bree, so knowing that he didn’t understand the past 10 years was a harsh idea to adjust to. With that, as Ray kept an eye on Jordan’s condition, it only made him seem to want to protect Bree more. Though once she entered the venue for prom, the night ahead was full of opportunity.

“Treading…water?” She asked with a confused look on her face, followed by a laugh. “I’m sorry I don’t know the first thing about swimming, but yeah we should definitely have floaties.” Floaties were those things that people grabbed on to when in the water…right? Anyways, she really didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of Tyler during swimming lessons so she would definitely make sure to look up some basic facts about swimming on google. After the car stopped, Tyler got out and opened the passenger door. “Yep. You ready? If you ever need it, we can step out for air.” He must know I’m nervous Karen thought while carefully getting out of the car. I mean, it’s pretty obvious just by looking at me She looked at Tyler with a smile. “That’s probably a good idea, especially since it would get hot inside with everyone dancing and stuff.” The stillness of the night contrasted with the music coming from inside the building, and the sound of their shoes clicking on the concrete as they moved towards the entrance. While walking, she decided to ask him a question. “So, are you a party kind of person - I mean do you like parties?” What am I saying She thought.

“He could be your date because the girl he truly wanted got taken.” Adonis said with a shrug, noting the irritation in her voice. It was so easy to get under her skin it was not like he meant some of the things he said, yes, he meant a lot of things but God not all. “Do you even really know him?” Adonis asked with a chuckle. Not like he really knew his date. All he knew about Maddie was that her favorite color is green, her sister is the best friend to his sister and she has a big crush on him. Adonis told Maddie to grab a snack for them which she obeyed after a suggestive comment that Adonis had made to her, Adonis waved to her goodbye as she walked away.
“Mason is just a past crush.” Adonis laughed, “I don’t believe that one bit.” It was obvious she was still into Mason. “Too bad he’s currently juggling Elio, Sienna an Olivia to notice you.” Adonis took a sip from his drink, “But maybe he could handle you four if you confess, you know the type of person he is.” Adonis said with a teasing tone. “I didn’t look that drunk.”
Tyler deadpanned. “Yep, we’re starting from scratch. Treading water is when you move your arms and legs to stay afloat. Ok, I’ll buy some floaties when I have time.” He nodded when Karen made a good point about it getting hot with all the people. “Good point. Yeah, you just let me know. Come on.” He said, beginning to head towards the venue. “I’m honestly not much of a party person. I’ve been to some. You?”

Sammy couldn’t help but bite her lip when Elijah complimented her, his eyes communicating all of his thoughts. The man’s sort of approach was tantalizing, she loved his clever way of speaking. “Of course” she bowed playfully, “to match your own formality, mister bow tie.” Gar smiled, teasing him for his attire. But she had to admit, it was pretty cute. No matter what was going on with any third party, or fight, even when they broke up, the two still had an undeniable chemistry. She wondered if she’d find that with Richard, too. Would this work? For now, everything seemed fine as long as Atticus didn’t interrupt.
Speaking of fine, this new man introduced himself to Sam very sweetly. He basically said he would rememer her if he’d met her before! Elijah, take notes . Not but seriously, his introduction made him stand out. Not to mention he was very nice to look at, eye contact piercing. “I feel the same way.” She spoke a bit suggestively as she looked down at his body, then brushing the whole thing off with a noncahalant excuse, to keep him thinking about this moment. “I like your suit, too. The brown is very trendy.” So far, Sammy was enjoying this new bond. Her heart was softened, and her pupil’s just melted into dark, round pools when she saw the two of them.
Hyun-Ae was right. The last thing they should be doing right now was worrying about the contents of a dessert. “Of course,” They responded, smiling back at her as she sat down and they looked at the plate they’d gotten themself, trying a different item. When she asked them how their food was, they nodded as they covered their mouth, signalling that they would speak once they finished chewing. “It’s really good. Whoever organized it did a good job.” They answered, agreeing to her comment about enjoying it. However, as they ate, a strange, new feeling washed over them. They couldn’t really explain why but they felt somewhat lighter and the sensation made them laugh a little.
@Ouijaloveletters - Hyun-Ae
Niko nodded at Hyun-Ae’s question about the food, covering their mouth. She took it as a sign they were chewing, and waited patiently. “Yeah, the food is great. There’s probably a whole committee just for prom. This school is pretty rich.” Hyun-Ae blinked when Niko suddenly laughed. “What’s so funny?” She asked, putting a sweet and sour meatball in her mouth. Niko didn’t seem like the type of person to giggle out of nowhere.

Destiny knew Adonis was trying to annoy her on purpose but that didn’t stop his face from being less slappable. When Maddie walked away she couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s funny. If someone is dating me, they wouldn’t need someone else. Let’s just say that.” An arrogant smirk appeared on her face. “And also - why does it matter if I don’t know him? I doubt that you know details about little mad mad’s life. You probably don’t even know her favorite color.” Adonis began taunting her about Mason, which made her regret telling him. I mean why would you tell another guy who you were interested in getting to know romantically who you had a crush on? That was just one of her many stupid mistakes shes made in her life. “Shutup You probably can’t even get Sienna, Olivia or even Elio to date you which is why you had to get a random girl that doesn’t even go to our school.” Did she think that was true? No, but hopefully that hurt his ego a little. “Anndd…you were really drunk that night. Someone took a picture of you laying on the couch with your hair all over the place and the person showed it to me.” Destiny tried to control her laughter while telling this lie. “I wasn’t even trying to be mean to you tonight but if you want to go there, we can go there.” She sipped her drink with a grin on her face.
@Kristi - Adonis
The first person Richard really liked in this town and felt safe enough around, probably because he wasn’t obsessed with this game everybody seems to be playing, and he felt as if this girl infront of him was a means to get him out of the picture and be doomed to being nothing more than a third wheel with them … but he didn’t take the possibility of liking her into account. So when he realized her personality was probably as nice or as good as Elijah, and she was just as friendly … if not a little bit too friendly, that he would probably like her too and there’s literally no reason to be jelaous.
He was determined to get to know her better by the end of the night when she complimented his suit. In fact, it was this very suit that he felt a bit anxious about so with her compliment, he could finally relax his shoulders and not being so tense anymore, he formed a nicer smile, one that shows gratitude for a compliment and lets the others know he’s actually happy to hear that and not a polite thank you, but one that doesn’t make it seem like he’s obsessed with himself and lives for somebody telling him how good he looks. He decided to pay her back with a compliment, not only cause in his mind if somebody compliment you, you should find something to compliment back, but also becuase he almost complimented her on different things he noticed about her 5 times from the second she walked out the door.
"Aw shucks … " He jokingly said as he blushed a bit. “That means a lot, coming from somebody who looks as good as you do tonight.” But he didn’t want to end it there. “Seriously, where did you get that dress? The dress alone is just … wow, let alone the mix of everything you did tonight.” To which he turned to Elijah, asking him with his eyes what his opinions were on the dress, hoping he says something simmilar to him because he felt he overdid it a bit on the compliment.
“I’m a little surprised by that. You seem like someone who is always the life of the party.” For some reason that was just her impression of him but she kind of realized that just because someone is outgoing it doesn’t mean that they are always out partying “Well me, I’ve been to my fair share of parties but I wouldn’t call myself a party person, but they are really fun once you go to the right ones.” Most of the parties she went to were because a friend was going to them which led to uncomfortable situations where she felt out of place. “I think this will be a fun night.” Their walk towards the entrance ended when they pushed open the double doors of the venue, and they were greeted by dancing students and warm lights that shined brightly above their bobbing heads. Karen turned to Tyler with a smile on her face. “What do you want to do first?” In her mind, she knew she wanted to dance at some point but right now her stomach let out a loud rumble, which was probably heard by him. Her eyes bucked in surprise. “Oh! sorry…about that.” A light chuckle fueled by embarrassment escaped her.

If you asked Jordan Williams if he ever expected to… well… be in the position he was in right now… The answer would be no. Jordan Williams would have NEVER left Sadie Williams… and for what it’s worth… he would have never left the love of his life for… Jezebel Parker. Not her… not after what she did to him… it didn’t matter what the newspapers said… what the press said about him leaving his wife… what the interviews… of him saying he cared about Jezebel. It didn’t make sense… though… a lot of things didn’t make sense. It was hard… living in Sadie’s house and not… sleeping with her… kissing her… kissing his wife and wrapping his arms around her every night. Honestly… Jordan didn’t believe people when they said he would leave his wife…
It was hard knowing his kids grew up and he couldn’t remember any of it… Kyra and Justin… and… Annie? Annie who wouldn’t talk to him and was his… adoptive daughter? At least that’s what he found out online.
It was hard knowing Jezebel Parker was pregnant and with “his” kids. Jordan had to wonder if it was a ploy… it had to be a ploy. Which… well… was exactly why Jordan had asked his lawyer to send Jezebel paternity documents. And now… now Jordan was sitting staring at divorce papers while Sadie had gone to chaperone the prom. How the hell did his life end up here… and how did he get his old life back? HIs old life with his beautiful wife… Sadie…and kids…
How?
Well the first step was this document right here… and maybe Jordan was being rash… but he didn’t know what to do. His mind was broken… screaming and pulling him in a million directions. But this… this felt… right? Wrong? It felt… like the next step.
Standing in front of… Jezebel’s house there was a sense of hesitation. Why? Well… he didn’t know. Or… did he? A soft sigh escaped his lips and after a few seconds, he found himself walking towards the door. While he was going to originally knock, he found himself behind two… parents with kids who simply walked in… and then music filled his ears. There was a “Come on in” sign on the door and it was clear there was some sort of… party going on with another deep breath, Jordan walked inside and followed the others towards what seemed like the backyard.
It only took Jordan a second to find Jezebel… and he would be lying if he said she wasn’t glowing. He felt his heart thump… but something was off. Something in the pit of his stomach was… screaming at him. Probably just telling him to get over with this… but for a second, he was stuck. Jez had a way with kids - seen by the way she was smiling with all the little girls and boys running towards her with her little makeup stand. Now or never Jordan…
Walking towards her, Jordan waited until the kid she was with ran away before walking towards her with the stack of papers his lawyers had drawn up. “Jezebel… I just… wanted to drop these off,” Jordan stated in a curt tone, grabbing her attention as he placed the stack towards her. Though his attention was soon turned towards the little boy next to her who wrapped his arms around Jezebel’s body. Jessica’s kid? Possibly.

Elijah didn’t know if he was reading into things too much but were they…flirting? With Sammy’s wandering gaze and Richard’s bashful tone, It sure did seem like it. This exchange really wasn’t what he was expecting. He was mostly expecting awkwardness or basic friendly conversation, but there seemed to be a bit of chemistry going on between them. Richard’s compliment opened up the floor for him to say something. “You look alright I guess.” He said looking off to the side. “Nah, I’m just kidding. You look great.” I mean, she looked more than great but he didn’t want to say “gorgeous” or “beautiful” because that was his ex. “I guess its too late to say don’t outshine us too much.”
Richard didn’t notice Elijah watching the two of them, but he did notice the lack of his usual charm in the way he complimented Sammy. He wondered why, just before Elijah proclaimed that statement was a joke. Ignoring the joke, only smiling at it, Richard was about to suggest leaving since he felt standing around complimenting each other was awkward and they would be late if they weren’t to leave soon. When Elijah said "I guess its too late to say don’t outshine us too much.” Richard jokingly added “But it’s not late enough to get going.” after checking his wrist clock.
DAMN HE SMOOV. Sammy was stricken by this new man’s finesse. She almost admired it, this was like what Hera claims to be like. No shade, Hera. Sorry. Actually, what he added was a bit much. Not because it was extra, she just felt a bit objectified when Rich turned to Elijah as if to ask for his opinion. It kind of gave her predator-prey vibes. Because of her exclusively monogamous dating history, she just kept looking for who the two main people in this situation were. Who would have the most chemistry? Who has the most shared interest? Who’s been through the same things? She felt like a straight person asking two lesbians which one was the “guy” in the relationship. Hopefully this feeling would wear away.
Sammy couldn’t help but notice the look of suprise on Lijah’s face. Jealous? She asked suggestively in her mind. Of course, she could not say this out loud, she didn’t want to embarass him in front of his new man or… boyfriend? Regardless, she wanted to be considerate. His jokes made her want to be a bit meaner, though. Ruthlessly, the woman began to toy with him. “That’s it? You know, your words may say one thing but your eyes seem to be disagreeing.” She hoped this would get some sort of reaction out of the man. Usually, it did, since Lijah was alwys one to get a bit flustered when he was being flirted with, no matter how tough he had been previously trying to act.
“Mhmmmmm” Sam nodded when the grey suited man changed his mind. She felt a bit guily for messing with him. How’d he build the stamina to do this? Sam cannot do mean. Or at least, barely. Sunshine and rainbows is much easier. AWWWWW, his last line!! Why did this man have such a chokehold on Garmie . It was just so cute!! She melted when he couldn’t help but give up on playing his little man version of hard-to-get. “Oh, shut up” She nudged him with a friendly hand. “You guys look adorable.” She tried not to exclaim, or else it would probably seem too friendly.
Richard’s response encouraging punctuality kind of killed the vibe, but it was probably necessary. “Rightttttt” Sammy said, snapping out of their world and back into reality, not making much of Richard’s joking tone. She was still trying to get a scope of who he was as a person. So far, her list included: Handsome, suave, a bit awkward, and responsible. Was it going to be 100% accurate? Probably not, but she needed to make sense of this situation for everyone’s sake. Especially Eli, the reason she was here…
For some reason, he liked teasing Sammy. It was probably because she wasn’t easily offended and often knew he was joking. It wasn’t always like this though because his humor didn’t always compliment hers. While they were talking, Richard reminded them of the fact that it was probably time to go now. “Yep, you’re right.” He smiled at him with admiration for a split second. This reminded him that he was glad Hera (shudders) didn’t answer the door because would’ve been awkward knowing that she never liked him and Sammy being together. Did he ever care? Nope! “Shall we?” After saying this he turned around and started walking downstairs. “So… I look adorable? What if I said to you, Sammy you look adorable. Would you like that.” He teased. Being called adorable made him feel like he was going to a middle school dance.
He wondered how the night was going to go, what they were going to do, what was going to happen. It hit him again as they were all walking down the steps. He was on a THROUPLE date…how did he get here. He always seemed to get into strange situations but at least this one wasn’t bad. He started wondering who was going to sit where in the car. If someone sat in the passenger seat would the other one feel left out? Or will they both sit in the back? He wondered about that while watching them get in the car. When they were done, he got in the drivers seat and started driving Sitting stiffly. For some reason he felt like he was missing something and realized that it was music, so when he stopped at a red light he started scrolling to one of the songs in his playlist and ended up playing. We are young by Fun That was a nice promey song right? “You guys can give suggestions if you want.” As the song continued playing he belted out some lyrics while looking at Richard to show just how bad of a singer he was. “So LeTs SeT THe WoRlD On FiRE!”
The red lights blurred past the windows and mixed with the darkness of the night and twinkling city lights. Now they were finally at the prom venue. It was expected. Fancy and extravagant much like everything associated with Cerulean High. “So, you guys ready?”
Not many people understood how it felt to simply be… destined for greatness. However, Emily wasn’t one of those losers. Trust her, she knew that she was meant to… be someone or… at the very least, she knew she was going to be someone very soon. Call it the law of attraction or whatever, but everything she had ever wanted simply came to her.
- Head Cheerleader: Check
- Hottest Boyfriend: Check
- A sh!t ton of followers on Instagram: Check
- Likely the hottest dress at Prom: Checkity fcking Check
In other words: it was a good life to be her - and those were exactly the thoughts running through her mind as she walked into the party of a lifetime: otherwise known as her senior prom. Dax had his arm wrapped around her waist as the two of them smiled pretty for the camera up in the front to document the night. Now… here’s something everyone should know about Dax. He was hot, but really fcking stupid. Okay correction. Not “Mateo” stupid, but, still. Emily knew this thing with the man wouldn’t last past graduation - after all - once graduation came, Emily had to set her eyes on a hot college guy that had the potential of future fame as much as she did and while Dax had power at this school, he wouldn’t forever.
“Dax, go get me a drink,” Emily stated as they walked further into the venue, a few cheerleaders following behind with their own dates. “Em you won’t believe who’s chaperoning this event,”
“Unless it’s someone I’m following on social media, I don’t give a fck about who’s dad is her…”
“It’s Dorian DeLoughrey, the soccer player… you know, the Taylor-D Twin’s Uncle.”
Okay… now that was… damn. Dorian was hot - trust Em, she had seen enough photos of him in magazines to know… it may also be pertaining to mention that Dorian was her crush growing up (you know, posters in the bedroom kind of deal), but Emily played the news off fairly cool. “Find out where Makenzie. I think him and I should talk,”
Here’s the benefit of being someone in power. Her girls knew within two minutes exactly where Dorian was, and within three minutes, Emily was already walking over to him with an idea in mind. “Woah,” Em muttered, pretending like her heel caught in something and she just happened to use him as support - meaning her hands faltered to his chest as she lifted her foot. “Fck… I’m so sorry,” Em sighed, lifting her leg almost as if she had hurt it as she moved her hands to his shoulder to keep her balance. Emily had to admit, the man was hotter in person.
Before he could even ask if she was okay, Em carefully put her foot down though kept her hand remained on him. “I hope you don’t mind, I think I need to just let it rest for a second so I’m just going to keep a little pressure on your shoulder,” she muttered. Acting as if the whole accident was… well… just that… an accident… Emily finally looked into his eyes “Oh… oh god I’m so embarrassed you’re Dorian DeLoughrey aren’t you? I promised myself if I ever met you, I’d say that the loss in New Orleans a couple of months back was completely bogus. That ref had it against you or something because that other team kept making so many damn fouls… god look at me… I’m blushing… hey… do you mind if we got out of here… Oh… I just mean do you mind helping me getting to somewhere I can sit and maybe helping me with some ice…and maybe we can finish this conversation?”
It was a good question: why did Kaspian care? Well… his mom did teach him to treat women with respect so maybe that had something to do with it? Sure, Kaspian was willing to rush up to a girl, cover her mouth half-naked, and tell her to shush - but leaving her alone when that person could very well be in a distorted mindset seemed wrong. And, for his benefit, HE DIDN’T MEAN TO DO THE FIRST THING. If the arse didn’t chase him on Valentine’s day… they wouldn’t have been in this situation. Sure… SURE… Kaspian was giving that dude’s wife a back massage but he was going to get tipped okay?
To answer your next question, Kaspian did end up getting tipped… as sh!t ton a few days later after the woman called him back apologizing for her husband. So was getting 15K for being chased across town worth it? Yeah, Kaspian would say so. And now, while Kaspian should have been dealing with customers outside, he was dealing with a girl who was arguing with him that That’s not how it works. “I’d like to think it is. If he liked you, Katherine Burton, he’ll come back… and, I’m pretty sure bowing after a dance is a norm as well,” Kaspian responded before pulling her closer for the dance without really asking. Sure… he respected girls but he also knew when to stop arguing with a drunken one and just do. Wait… wait that sounded wrong. NOT do as do against her will. Katherine could push him away and stop anytime she wanted.
Alright… time to get to the point… the point being was she sober enough to be left alone. Sadly, the answer Kaspian had was not a firm yes especially as Katherine immediately went off topic to her stressful day and how she hadn’t eat… wait she hadn’t eaten anything? There was something in that… that didn’t sit right with Kaspian. Spinning her around, Kaspian remained quiet as he listened to her voice as she continued to her… answer. One that included a spiral of her having friends… apparently a lot of friends before she told him what he wanted to know. She had drunk the punch - which was spiked - trust him, he had given it a small taste before the whole washed-out rockstar issue - and something about Muffins which didn’t sound good by the looks of it. Here’s the thing with eating or drinking something in a public place like this - one needed to always expect everything was messed with. And clearly, Katherine had learned that the hard way… fck.
Kaspian’s mind was… running attempting to figure out what his next move was when she said something about scaring him away before moving her hands to the square of his chest, before asking yet another question he doubted she would have asked sober. “I can’t say I am, but I don’t exactly mind running into you either, Miss Burton,” Kaspian whispered back, his eyes moving from her own, to where her hands met his chest. “I have a proposition, Katherine. I’m headed out for a few minutes to go… do something. Skip a few minutes of prom and come with me?” Kaspian questioned, “And maybe I’ll prove to you that I haven’t been… scared away,”
Amelia. Grace. Taylor-DeLoughrey. LEARN HOW TO SHUT THE HELL UP. Yeah… she really needed to do that… because apparently telling her sister wasn’t the best… of ideas. But… she couldn’t just keep it from her sister. Or… maybe she could but this was her twin and they told each other everything… and… well AMELIA NEEDED TO TELL SOMEONE BECAUSE RIGHT NOW IT WAS JUST IN HER FCKING MIND AND SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHY IN THE ACTUAL FCK HAD QUINN KISSED HER IN A FCKING HALLWAY AND THEN ASKED SOMEONE ELSE OUT IN FRONT OF HER AND THAN PROCEEDED TO SLEEP WITH HER BECAUSE JP ASKED?
Who. Does. That??? Okay sure, sure she agreed to the situation but she had her reasons. The reasons being she had already apparently slept with Quinn so it was better than adding another person to the mix… or maybe that’s what she told herself just to make it all make sense. At least the Fin stuff was a good segway… ish. It made her sister laugh right? “No video… sadly but Fin was in the hospital for a good week and I practically made it so he couldn’t have sex… well… for a few months according to the doctor I overheard so I think I did some good in the world but… I’m… I’m sorry people think it’s you… I don’t… you don’t deserve that,” She did feel guilty… honestly. Maybe she even felt guilty about what she did to Fin… but the guilt she felt towards her sister was exponentially higher.
“I should… I should also mention… um… I ruined his car on accident… because I had to drive… to the hospital and you know me with driving and… I parked it out front in the hospital at that no parking zone… and… well… an ambulance kind of slammed into it…and so… I kind of impulsively bought him a new one with… my investments…” Amie whispered, closing her eyes and knowing she was about to get yelled at… though let’s be honest, this was nothing in comparison to what she would be yelled at about in a second.
And… well that’s exactly what happened when Phoebe found out. “I wish I was lying… I know… I know… I don’t… think he would have kidnapped me or tortured me… I just was so… wrongly upset with you that day and I wasn’t thinking… and drinking… and he was drinking… I know I’m stupid,” Amie muttered… and the biggest blow was only yet to come with her screaming about the threesome…
WELL.
That was a fun… catch up…
Hearing the come here Amie let out a soft sigh as she walked towards her sister… and before Phoebe could say anything else, Amie just… hugged her… tightly. “I know… I know I’ve been… really stupid and I know I should have told you because you would have talked me out of my… many many fcking mistakes and I’m just… I’m sorry Phoebe. I don’t know… why mom saying that to dad just… put me on a spiral… and I tried to keep you away from it and clearly I just ended up pushing you away when I should have just told you and we could have dealt with all of it together and I love you… and I’m stupid…oh god I’m so fcking stupid… and god… I just hope you can… forgive me for all of it because you’re probably the only person I trust more than anything else in the world and I don’t… know what I’d do without you…and… no matter what I don’t want… us to ever… go through that again I don’t… think I’d be able to handle it,”
Amie muttered, hugging her sister tightly, trying to hold back the tears of months of… working through all of that. “I promise…” Amie sighed, pulling away as she looked her sister in her eyes. “not to be such an idiot…” Amie whispered, laughing ever so slightly as a few stray tears ran down her eyes. “I should… also mention that I turned in your application to Italy with that school… and… there… was this fashion school in Milan that… Well I thought of you and so I submitted your designs without asking… and I wasn’t going to tell you but… I got an email and you got in. I don’t… I don’t know about that other school in Italy… but… this one in Milian seems really good Phoebe… but… we can talk about it later…you know… prom,”
Yes Prom… that’s exactly what Amie ended up getting ready for… with Phoebe for the next hour who had helped her do her hair… and makeup… and practically everything Amie was terrible at in comparison to her sister and now she stood in a sparkly tight dress walking towards the kitchen for a glass of water while her sister put some finishing touches on her own dress.
Walking in, Amie locked eyes with her mother for a second and just stood still looking at her. Amie had apologized to her sister… but… she honestly didn’t know if she could do the same for her mother… god she didn’t even know why her mother left. “Hey…” Amie whispered, before grabbing a glass of water and taking a sip as she stood in the kitchen…in silence just thinking. “Why… mom… why’d you leave. I don’t… why did you say that to da…” though Amie didn’t get to finish that sentence when she heard the door bell ring and her dad scream “DATE NUMBER 1 IS HERE. CAN I TERRORIZE HIM?”
Walking towards the door… after looking at her mom for another second with… disappointment… Amie walked to the living room. She didn’t know what she was expecting… but Diego now stood in front of her. Amie… through all of that… had forgotten for a second that Diego was Phoebe’s date… someone she didn’t approve of and that much was clear on her face when she saw him. “Deigo… listen to me.” Amie whispered, not caring about her dad or mom in the room. “Don’t hurt Phoebe,” she stated, not going into details in front other parents and likely… just sounding like a sister trying to protect her twin.
Excuses… it was always… fcking excuses. “Honestly? Do you want me to answer that, Malachi? No… I don’t honestly think you understand that a bullsh!t apology doesn’t even come fcking close. The very least you can do is come in here at least acknowledge how terribly you’ve treated… everyone who ever wanted to be in your bloody life,” What was the point… in even trying with Kai? If anything, Jess shouldn’t have allowed herself to get this… angry… not now… not with Malachi Azure. It wasn’t… worth it.
It really wasn’t… so why did it still hurt so fcking much? In retrospect, Jessica was over it… over everything she had gone through with the man in front of her. It was her brain bringing her back to her younger memories… and feelings… that clearly wasn’t over it. Jessica was going to argue as Kai simply utilized more excuses… but she stayed quiet when she heard something stage about Akielah. “What do you even mean that she’s not allowed to… I’ve called Akielah hundreds of times since everything came out she never picked up her phone and… sh!t… BLOODY Daniel,” Jess groaned, putting her head in her hands. Maybe she should have guessed that Dan would pull some bullsh!t like this… but Jess has been so fcking distracted recently that she had simply assumed that Akielah needed space. Mental Note: Murder Dan.
“Look, I don’t bloody know what has to be in person with Val, but clearly she’s not here. So after you leave here, go get a bloody hotel for a week. Don’t bother Val, she’s dealing with her own sh!t and is finally happy now that Dan’s not being stupid… well as stupid as he usually is. Then do whatever you bloody need to do and leave.”
That should have been it. End of conversation. All Jessica had to do was go upstairs, change, dance with her daughters and sons, and ignore Malachi for the rest of the evening. Saying what she said… that… that was a big mistake… One that Jessica instantly regretted. Her regret was clearly seen by the silence that was far longer than necessary as she looked into Kai’s eyes realizing her mistake. With that, Jess did what she usually did best. She ran… well… more liked walked away. Or… tried as Malachi shouted after her.
Jess stopped for a second on the staircase before continuing to walk up… apparently now being followed by Malachi who caught on to her mistake. “I don’t… know what you’re talking about, Kai…M… Malachi,” Jess slipped, clearing her throat as she walked into Jez’ room and into her closet.
“I just meant that you need to stay away from me and my family…” Jess continued, her voice lowering, as she turned towards him with a pink dress now in her hands. However, before she could even walk… out the door her heart dropped seeing Kai and knowing what she did. Here’s the thing. It’s easy to lie to someone when you don’t see them… or talk to them… or want anything to do to them. But Kai… as much as she hated to admit it… he knew her… and he knew when she was lying… or hiding something.
There was an internal debate… as her mind rushed about the information she knew and after a second… a sigh left her lips. “Paige… and Kiara… Anna’s daughters… and technically yours.”
