Blue Royalty: New Blood

Persephone </3

Perephone stood there, dressed in grey sweats and a tank top covered by a grey zip-up hoodie that fell off one of her shoulders. She reaked. Her sleeves were coated with vomit accumulated from the past four weeks. The girl hadn’t showered in days, and anyone who laid eyes on her would be able to tell. Her ponytail was all f^cked up, baby hairs flying up on top, the hair tie sagging behind her neck, it’s grip loose. Yet, there she was, opening the doors to Cerulean High’s prom, deciding to run up to the stage, ripping through the crowd mercilessly. She didn’t care about anything. Any of this. Napoleon already hated her, Hera did nothing to demonstrate that they did but there was no way they didn’t when Persephone kept showing up unexpected, demanding care. So she just ran, sweats rippling back in her wind until she climbed up there, not bothering to process how many eyes were on her.

“Hi guys!! Most of you prolly don’t know me since I only transferred here a few months ago n I been keeping myself relatively onna DL but my name is persephone and I’m here to tell y’all what’s going on wit my life right now!! Notta be selfish or anything, more so to expose one dear, sweet Napoleon Park.” She transitioned back into her pretty, sensitive girl voice that she used to make him fall in love with her… or so she thought. “He’s my what- ex… fling? aborted fetus daddy?” Persephone searched through the crowd to see Leon’s reaction to that next statement. “'s right, I got rid of that sh!t!! I’m prolly too mentally unstable to look out for it anyway ahaha. One thing, though, abortions are very expensive, so I jus hired some of my thug friends to kick me in the guts multiple times.”

“Okay! okay! I was kidding. Damn, tough crowd.” Persephone admitted, after seeing a few concerned faces, smiling when she saw the horrified look on Leon and Young-Mi’s faces. Young-Mi, she didn’t really want to hurt. She just wanted to push her to a breaking point, setting her free in P’s own twisted, wild way. Persie was never the type to explain herself calmly, she either sent people very passive aggressive hints, or exploded in their faces. Young-Mi surely deserved much better than that, but Pers couldn’t give it to her, and neither could that piece-of-sh^t dirtbag. “I don’t really know what to do about it, really, I can’t afford to manage myself already.” The words fell from between her lips softly, and she placed a hand on her stomach, her eyes beginning to burn with tears.

“But nobody wanna hear about that, right!” She lets go. “That I was never really adopted and am living on the streets!! That’s just sad! So anyway, Leon’s married!! He and his little ‘roommate’ are actually husband and wife 'cause his parents arranged their marriage as a truce since they had gambled away most of they stupid fortune!! What a lovely tree, and what a gorgeous apple.” She looked down at the audience again, searching for Leon as she puts a proud smile on her face, yet, suddenly, he’s not there. Her smile fades for a minute, guilt tugging at her. But she looks back up, finishing what she started. Leon. His name echoes in her head. Not the one he was given forcefully, but the one he chose, in a weak attempt to avoid the hellfire he was raised in.

“Talk about having a good thing, and throwin it all away. Me, hell! his marriage when he decided to date me behind her back! All of it at eighteen. He didn’t deserve that. No one does. People f^ck up their marriages at 40! How could anyone expect him to upkeep his as a teenager?!” She sighed. “All of this is just so much for him. It’s alot for me too.” The girl pauses before thinking out loud, “How do we fix it?” No answer. Her classmates just stood around there, some gazes lingering around, chatter from scattered places in the room. “Leon!!” Persie shouted, looking for him in the crowd with increasing desperation, beginning to regret this whole thing as her throat dried. She hated all of it. All she could do was shout into the vacant crowd. “Leon, where are you? LEON!!” She shrieked, the tears finally escaping her eyes. But before anything else could be said, the strong arms of the security guards pulled her back, walking her off the stage through the back exit.

As Daiane turned to face her, there was only one thing stopping Embry from breaking down right then and there and that was Hera Zhou. Bloody hell. She thought to herself, rolling her eyes as they lit into her. She tensed up and was about to fire back, telling them to f-ck off because it didn’t concern them but just as she opened her mouth to say something, Daiane interrupted and Hera left to go deal with whatever Persephone was about to do, leaving Embry feel somewhat satisfied.

She lead Daiane over to a mostly spot of the dance floor, towards the back so they could hear each other better. When they stopped moving, both stood awkwardly and Embry tried to think of how to put everything she was feeling into words. There was so much she wanted to say to her, so many things she had to apologize for but for some reason, none of the words she could think of felt like the right ones to use. Before she could anything, Daiane began to speak. Even though it was what she wanted, Embry was still surprised to hear that she’d opened the envelope and a small smile appeared on her face.

Do I get to say that?

And just like that, Embry was reminded of how harsh her words were a month ago and Daiane saying that made her feel a thousand times worse about them. “Thank you, I’m really happy that you liked it.” She said as Daiane finished talking. Her words were genuine. Hearing what Daiane thought about her portrait, and that it was positive, really made her feel happy. She paused for a moment before continuing, making sure that she was confident in what she was going to say. “And you can call me whatever you want, Daiane.” Even though it was somewhat contradictory to what she was saying, she felt that she had lost the right to call Daiane by her nickname. “I never should have said that to you. Any of it.”

“Who?” Adonis had said after he was told by Destiny that her date inspiration was some flop no one but him has probably heard of. No, because who tf was Nickleback? What do they do? Where they athletes? musicians? politicians? No one but him and probably destiny knew about. “No i’m serious who.” He asked as he slowly but ‘quickly’ dragged her arm and began leading her to the table. “What does it look like i’m doing, Des” Destiny took his hand off her and sat at the table, Adonis rolled his eyes, ‘rude’ he thought.

“You know what Adonis. I dont know anything about Eric. I’m tired of pretending.”

Adonis breath hitched, he noticed how close he and Destiny were. “Really.?” He asked as he ran his fingers through his hair, shifting a little far from Destiny out of nervousness- sh!t not nervousness Adonis was never nervous, he meant out of ‘respect’ for her because she wouldn’t be able to control herself. “Well… umm. I don’t know anything about Mads either.” he whispered the last part, the whisper was so quiet, Adonis didn’t even know whether or not she had heard. Adonis moved closer to her, noticing that she looked way higher than before. He grabbed a fan looking thing and began to fan her, “Are you ok? Destiny, are you ok? I’m worried about you, you’re one of the only people I care about” He told her softly as he fanned her.

“Destiny!”

A voice had yelled and Adonis had never turned around to look so quickly. eyeroll it was Destiny’s plus one, great. “YO! Dude she’s here.” reluctantly he had yelled, seeing that Destiny wanted him here.

“What’s going on? Are you ready to go dance?” Eric had looked at him from the corner of his eyes, Adonis had glared at him before smirking and turning away. “Destiny… is sick.” He said standing up to be in front of Destiny, “Sorry bruh but she can’t go horsing around.” He offered his hands a little hesitantly to Eric, “Adonis.” He introduced himself.

“Yeah, i’m just talking to my friend right here. His date abandoned him.” Adonis raised a brow, he saw Maddie and waved towards her. “Doesn’t look like my date abandoned me.” He told her smiling as Maddie walked by.

“Oh. What’s up.” “The roof.” Adonis chuckled, “Sit let me introduce you to my date.” He said trying to have a ‘civilized’ conversation with Eric.

The space between herself and Adonis was closing in and she could feel it. She looked at him when she heard his tone change into a softer one. Did he really care about her? It was interesting to see this side of him, the side of him that was fanning her because of the state she was in. She really …liked it? What he said next “you’re one of the only people I care about” sealed those thoughts for her. Still, in the messed up state she found herself In, her mind must of been playing tricks on her. A frown appeared on her face. “Aww you want to go home with me?” She touched his face and laughed. Now she was faced with sweet innocent Eric asking if she wanted to dance and her knight in shining armour Adonis explaining to him that she was “sick” I guess that’s another way to name her…state. Destiny abruptly stood up at the mention of the word dance. “Yeah Eric, I’m co-” but then her footing gave away and she began wobbling a little. “You know, these shoes are, theere so-” Eric saw how strange Destiny was acting especially after she grasped his arm but he didn’t think much of it. It was prom and people sometimes got drunk, he couldn’t control her actions. Still he would make sure to keep her safe and close to him tonight. A frown made up Eric features followed by a deliberate awkward silence when he heard this “Adonis” tone towards him. “What is this guys problem.” “…Yeah I think she’s fine. I can take care of her.” Then the dude asked if he wanted to meet his date. Why In the world would he want to meet his date. “Nah, I think we’re going to dance now.” Eric turned away, holding Des’s arm in tow, Bye" She said with a smile. She was just glad to dance now. They both moved toward the dance floor, and she began acting aggressively, grabbing Eric’s face and arms.

“Yeah, I really love chicken. Sue me.” Tyler said, grinning. “Yeah, seriously. The girl shoved her down the stairs outside. She broke her leg. Luckily it wasn’t a big break. She’s ok now. The girl was arrested. Mia was terrified.” Karen pulled him onto the dance floor, under a bright light. That wasn’t a problem. “Technically, everyone can dance. It’s basically just moving to music. It’s all about perspective.” That was…philosophical. Wow.

Karen could feel her chest easing up after Tyler reassured her that dancing was all about perspective. It…really was when she actually thought about it. “I guess you’re right.” She smirked. Only pop music played through the speakers for the next hour, and she found herself laughing at Tyler’s antics again. That is until her head started to spin shortly after standing still. Stumbling backwards became a reoccurring thing until the light above them seemed like it was piercing her eyes. She rubbed her temple. “I’m okay, I think-Im just going to go to the bathroom. I’ll be back.”

She walked past the dancing bodies surrounding her and ended up in the girls bathroom where she washed her face and looked in the mirror. Her head wasnt hurting anymore but she did feel light…and heavy? Did that even make sense. She squinted at herself shortly before going back to where Tyler was. Or at least trying to. Her throat felt dry and she needed something to drink. The punch was of course not thought about so she decided to get water. She slowly leaned against the wall and began sipping the beverage. Her eyes ended up focusing on…Carter. What a surprise. She didn’t remember the last time she saw him. “Carter? Hi. How’s prom going for you?” She said with a smile. He seemed alone and like he didn’t have a date.

Sammy eyed the men dancing together. Richards hands sloppily crossing behind Elijah’s neck, as the other man shook his hands by his chest in attempt to make a bit of a joke. The two of them chuckled shyly, Rich rubbing his thumb on the back of the man’s black collar. It probably felt nothing like his own, suede looking tux. None of it matched, yet, they looked so happy.

She had recently reached the dance floor and the three of them were awkwardly trying to figure out a way to dance together, but she wanted to be nice, so she just offered they dance as a couple without her, and that she could join in next song. So there she was, leaning on the bar from her stool, body forming a parallelogram when she leaned to her right, dress glistening in the matching gold lights. A sense of envy tugged at her as she watched. Why was she so jealous?

Slowly, she found herself reeling to the edge of her seat. Prom only happens once, and it was unfair for it to just slip away like nothing was wrong. Yeah, she didn’t know the other guy, but she was bound to at some point if he was gonna be Elijahs boyfriend. Plus, R looked really good to her as that side smile grew on his face, leading her to fantasize what he looked like in that white tank top he was surely wearing underneath the dress shirt. Damn, he’s put together. At the image of his small chain dangling onto her lips, cold metal cooling the heat she felt, the girl found her left arm flat on the seat, feet in the air.

Woah! Catching herself, the girl stood up messily, hoping the boys didn’t see her. Quickly, she brushed her dress’s ruched fabric down and waltzed her way over to the men, path clear as day when they seemed like the only people at the center of the dance floor. This is it, Sammy! Don’t step on anyone’s feet in your heels and everything will be fine!

And there they stood, now apart as if they felt guilty for enjoying themselves. Without hesitation, Sammy dived for Richard, leaving Elijah off to the side. She took his hand and twirled herself halfway, backing up against him as she rolled her body slowly. Her hand guided his down her side, holding it over her waist. At first the man seemed a bit shocked by Sammy’s approach, standing inanimate. But, upon feeling her body against his, he started to follow her lead. His chest felt so warm against her back, and the touch of his groin against her ^ss got butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Instinctively, she put her palm where his short hair ended, and the woman snuggled her head into the nape of his neck, closing her eyes in relaxation.

Elijah looked speechless.

The ride to the prom was fairly silent from then on and nobody really wanted to engage in a conversation. It would’ve been awkward for Richard, but he didn’t really care about the situation there as he was occupied by looking at the surroundings outside his window passing by. When they arrived, he left his seat first to be a gentleman and open the door for Sammy, especially after he saw how relax Sammy was in her seat and how she had to sit up propperly so she can get out of the car elegantly like the women in the movies.

Inside the almost awkwardness ensued when the question of how the dancing is actually going to go down was asked. Thankfully both Sammy and Elijah had the answer. Since it was a throuple Elijah would dance with each of them alone once during the slow songs, but they would dance altogether during the pop songs. Richard said they should be the first to dance because he was gonna go refresh in the bathroom anyways and would be out by the time they’re done. So he did, but instead of refreshing himself he calmed himself down and splashed some cold water onto his face. He was out fairly quick and the two were still dancing. He decided to not awkwardly stand there and gaze at them so he made a b-line for the bar.
"Bartender, d-do you do … ahem … " he was going to ask for vodka sprite but instead what came out was “Whiskey on ice?” and instead of correcting himself, he went with it because it would be more embarrising to admit he can’t even order a drink withouth messing it up.
“Erm … yes, we do whiskey on ice.” Replied the bartender, perplexed why he was just asked IF he does a drink that’s been around for hundreds of years and counting.
Richard has a sip and was surprised he actually didn’t hate it. It was becuase the ice tricked him into thinking it’s actually better than it was. At least the drink gave him some confidence before he started nervously laughing at himself or sweating. He realized the song was ending so he down the drink and payed the barman. Actually he tipped him since the barman didn’t have time to tell him that it was an open bar before he left.

Richard thought after the slow song there would be a song where people dance on their own so he can just join them dancing goofily but by the time he reached them another slow song started. As Elijah noticed he came over, he dominantly took Richard in his arms and started leading. Elijah cute brown eyes captured his attention, but out of the corner of his eye he could see Sammy’s form in that glittery drop dead gorgeous dress moving in the same direction he came from so he just assumed she was going for the bar also. He was fine there so he assumed she wasn’t angry at him just taking Elijah away from her like that. He left it alone only to be surprised by her returning and stopping their dance suddenly. Richard though she was jealous or something and wanted to continue the dance with Elijah, but she moved towards him. She took his limp hand and twirled herself halfway, at which point Richard was still confused and didn’t know what to do. He sure realized what she was doing though, even though if he still didn’t know what he himself should do. He could feel her back pressing closer against his chest and soon enough she guided his hand down her side, so close to her body he could almot feel the dress beneath his fingers. It took her guiding hand for him to get into it as he decided to touch the side of her body just beneath her breasts and trace it down to her hips where he let it rest, stagnant but still suggestive. Her but was so close to his groin that he dropped his jaw to the floor, but he managed to pick it up by the time she stuck her head into the nape of his neck. As her eyes were closed he could see the bit of outstretched neck uncovered by hair and actually smell the sweet perfume got him thinking immoral things. But as he looked up he could see Elijah’s face, and he felt guilty for neglecting him even though it was Sammy’s idea to dance provocatively like this he didn’t have to partake in it and leave Elijah out of it. But, that feeling didn’t last long for another overtook Richard’s mind, but he would be unable to put it into words. He looked at Elijah, straight into those beatiful dark brown eyes that look good even from afar and just one though ran through his mind. “Join us” He wanted to say it but knew he’d regret it if he did … In fact he was actually surprised this is where his mind went and this is what he wanted in that moment.

Hozier - Like real people do

Elijah’s eyes wandered around the venue where chandeliers and twinkling lights roamed above the dancing students heads, and the sounds of heels clicking against the dancefloor grazed his ears. Cerulean High always had great taste in parties but this was next level. Some minutes later, they stood near the food table. Now they were faced with a decision to a question that more than likely entered each of their minds at least once; How they were going to dance. The first person that was on Elijah’s mind was Richard but he didn’t want to make the first move to risk being the one leaving anyone out. Instead he stood there with a drink in his hand, idley watching the people in front of him. Richard suddenly spoke up and suggested he and Sammy dance before going off somewhere else. So, in response to that, he took Sammy’s hand like a true gentleman and led her to the dance floor. It was…a strange feeling to dance with Sammy to a slow song. The last time they dated it seemed like so long ago, but the chemistry they had as friends made up for the awkwardness of being exes. She was still a fun presence to have around. He spun her around and dipped her almost to the floor which was followed by laughter.

Elijah’s eyes met Richard’s as soon as he came back from wherever he was, and when he and Sammy split apart, he immediately grabbed Richard and pulled him closer. A spark seemingly went off between them. They’ve never been this close before. As they were dancing, Elijah had the urge to kiss him, but didn’t because he was still too shy. Instead they moved to the music, their eyes telling another story. All of a sudden, Sammy came back and moved herself in between them. Elijah didn’t know exactly what was going to happen so he just laughed. Then, his face slowly morphed into a surprised - still expression when he saw that Sammy was dancing with Richard - excuse me on Richard. Her body leaned unto his in such an elegant manner, while her golden dress complimented her body nicely. Why am paying attention to her body in this way. Sammy what are you doing, I’ve never seen you dance like this. Those were the thoughts that passed through Elijah’s mind. This was so strange. It was like they were doing this on purpose. Was he in some sort of sit - com? Elijah forced himself to look up from Sammy out of being “uncomfortable” to Richard again. That was a mistake. Now Richard was looking at him which made this even weirder…but it sparked some sort of jealousy turned arousal for a split second. As if he was saying “come closer.” Nah that was just in his dirty mind. These unexpected feelings made him confused. “Sammy you’re stealing the show” He joked, unknowingly stepping closer to them.

It was harder than Daiane thought it would be to be standing with Embry on the prom dance floor like this, a canyon of unspoken words between them, when she could see them dancing on this same floor, all laughter and smiles instead of this thick, awkward tension. The words spilled out, as they always did when she felt tense or awkward or this both, but they, as always, did nothing to relieve the jittery nervousness that pattered in her aching chest.

”You’re really talented so it really can’t be that surprising that I liked it. I knew that—that you were talented—but getting something like that…” She shook her head, trailing off. Her words, suddenly, felt a little intimate to her—which was exactly what she was trying to avoid, being that the whole problem was that she used her relationship with Embry to complete her tasks. Embry wasn’t stupid; this was prom, she had to know that there was a possibility any interaction Daiane had with her could be laced with tasks. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me—and Embry was no fool, as she’d made abundantly clear. Nor was she someone Dai wanted to make a fool out of. So she paused, mentally scrambling to pull away from the far from platonic feelings she was feeling and into a more neutral territory. ”It was just, great. So, like, thank you. …And, um, I know it doesn’t really… exactly, apply anymore, so if you—if you wanted it back or something, I don’t know, you can—I can give it to you.” The words kind of tumbled out of her mouth before she even knew what she was saying, and now with them out in the air, she wished she could pull them back; she loved the portrait too much. But the storm had already struck its worst, leaving scattered debris and damage in its wake, and all she could hope for was a chance to rebuild. ”If you want it.”

Surprised, her gaze shifted from whichever random object it had focussed on to settle on Embry, confusion apparent in Dai’s dark eyes. Looking at her, she thought that she could see a note of genuineness in her expression—as if Embry wanted her to know she truly meant what she was saying. Then, Dai realized, at once, that part of her rambling might have come off as passive-aggressive, like a remark of hers (unintentionally(?)) alluded to some hurtful comment Embry had previously made during that fight. Embry’s reply made more sense with that context; it was a reflexive response, made more to keep the peace than as a reflection of her actual feelings. It must have been her own wishful thinking that she saw, some irrational sort of hope reflected in Embry’s eyes. After all, it had been more than a month of silence between the two of them—who was she to expect anything more than that? In response, Daiane gave an uncertain nod, choosing to let the sentence pass without another word on her part.

That final remorseful statement sort of floated past Daiane’s head, and she recognized it only as an unfinished sentence, where an unspoken “but” lingered just behind Embry’s tongue. “No, actually, you were right,” Dai responded, a rueful smile curving her lips. “I’ve thought about it a lot since then and, and that was really sh*tty of me. I’m sorry, Embry, really, I never meant to hurt you or lie to you. I just—f*ck.” She cut herself off, crossing her arms across her chest as her gaze fell to the floor, blinking back the sudden sting of tears. “… You don’t wanna hear my excuses and I don’t wanna waste your time so if you… if you just wanted to yell at me some more, you don’t need to, I get it. I—and my tasks—will stay away from you, so don’t even worry about it.”

”You do know this is the girls bathroom don’t you Montoya? That drunk already?” Veronica announced casually as catching a glance at misterrr Enrique Montoya who was for some reason hiding by the door of the GIRLS bathroom. Boy. Leave. Shoo.

Plus, let’s just say if she had to pick anyone to be with in the bathroom right now it probably wasn’t Enrique. Things with them were already tense before and being stuck in an elevator… didn’t really help. to say the least

So as casually dismissing him, Veronica fixed her makeup in front of the mirror. After all, it might not be special for everyone but most people only get one senior prom of their own. It’s kinda special bro. So might as well make everyone remember how gorgeous you looked that day, like damn v . You get where I’m going with that.

Anyway, he didn’t seem to go even tho she told that MAN to LEAVE the WOMENS bathroom.
“Hey go outside and tell me if Diego’s out there, thanks.”
look yourself darling ”stop avoiding diego you’re not a little girl.” she said and went to glance outside ”oh he’s out there” she said with a little huff as she closed the door back again

As Niko watched Hyun-Ae pull herself up off the floor as she started to regain her footing, they began to pull themself together. They still had no idea what in those brownies made them feel like this but they knew that they really didn’t like it and they also knew that they were definitely not going to have another. To enforce this, they very weakly pushed their plate away from them, moving their cup of punch away as well, just for good measure. When Hyun-Ae returned, they began to feel somewhat like themself again and they nodded as she said she didn’t know what happened. “Me neither.” They agreed with her. “I think it was those brownies we ate.”

Richard didn’t know what to do as he was holding Sammy in an embrace all the while looking at Elijah. He was by no means discouraged by the ectremely handsome girl on his shoulder, but rather he was encouraged by the possiblity of Elijah being in there too. Richard didn’t even know his eyes and his look were inviting and welcoming, but it was that inviting look that made Elijah come closer to them. However, even though he was closer, Richard still thought he wasn’t close enough. Richard and Sammy were as close as anybody could be withouth engaging in intercourse while Elijah still seemed like a mile away form the two of them. Suddenly Richard’s body started doing what he only thought about doing and to his surprise his hand grabbed Elijah’s tie pulling him closer. Soon enough he was close enough for Richard to be able to smell his colone which was yummy and it mixed with Sammy’s perfume. Richard bit his lip while looking down on Eljah’s making it clear what he was thinking about hoping he didn’t misunderstand Elijah’s mannerisms tonight. “Do you wanna dance with us Elijah?” Asked Richard, giving Elijah an out if he didn’t want to participate while looking him deep in the eyes that were now so much closer to his than they ever were.

Niko said they thought the problem was the brownies, and Hyun-Ae nodded. “Yeah, must be. All the other food seems ok, though. I wonder what was in them. Probably don’t want to know.” She said, taking a bite of a mini quiche. “Now, these are amazing…and hopefully safe. Nothing has happened yet. I’ve eaten three.” She said, poking the quiche.

The lights from the ceiling flickered between them as Richard grabbed Elijah’s arm to pull him closer, to Elijahs surprise, but he couldn’t help but smile when it happened. As he passed by, Elijah’s hand lightly grazed Sammy’s dress. His whole arm unexpectedly tingled in response to this which told him that he was definitely feeling some typa way. The aroma of cologne and perfume filled the air around them when the distance was practically non existent. Good thing he didn’t have two smelly dates. “Why of course I would like to dance with you guys. Thanks for including me.” He said with a tight lipped smirk. He looked between Sammy and Richard, realizing how close he was to Richard again for the second time and this time it was obvious that this was what Richard wanted. Elijah wanted to give him something he wouldn’t forget for the rest of the night. He looked down at Richard’s lips in hesitation, then up at his eyes again, then his lips before softly pressing his lips against his. The hesitation quickly dissipated and was replaced by the softness and light realization of what he was doing. Then without thinking, he softly grabbed his neck.

“I wanted one thing in my life, Jess. One thing. I wanted to be a good father, better than what I had.” If there was one thing Kai was willing to put everything else that he wanted most aside, it was to be a father. It was why he said no to Jess when he should have left with her, a time he could’ve been happier, when everything could’ve been different. He could look back and think about how he should’ve left Listaria, left his wife when he had the chance but didn’t because of that need to be there for his kids. He didn’t want to be like his father, treating his children like they didn’t matter, like they didn’t deserve to be a highlight of his life, like they were an obligation or regret that was only dealt with because that’s just the way things were. Kai was never good enough for his dad, he could never fit the mold of what his father wanted, at least not to a level where he could be treated as an individual. All his life he was only ever treated as a pawn. A pawn to the king of Blue Royalty, a pawn to the soon-to-be queen of Listaria, even to his own twin he was a pawn in her own twisted game with Anna Pierce. Kai wanted more than that for his own kids. He wanted them to have everything they deserved, and at the very least to know they had a father who wanted the best for them, that loved them and would support them in whatever paths they chose to take in their lives. Their lives would be in their own hands, and he would care about them every step of the way. This time, he just didn’t even have the chance. The choice was made for him. “Everything I’ve done has been because I thought it was what I had to do. I keep f^^king up, but I’ve never stopped trying to get things right. Especially for my kids.” Kai stopped for just a moment, looking at Jess. It was at that point the anger began to dissipate, though frustration remained with a seriousness. His guilt, over everything he did that hurt her, that hurt everyone he cared about, and the pain, pain from hating himself, from all of the heartache and trauma, both became increasingly clear in his tone.

“I failed Zach… I was never good enough for what he deserved, and the best thing I could do was step back for him to have everything he needed. But I still look after him from a distance, I want the best for him and think about him all the time. Our kid… my son..” Kai paused, just for a second, taking an extra breath with the thoughts about the kid he and Jess would’ve had, as well as the son he had with his wife, that didn’t survive past birth, though he knew Jess wouldn’t have known about that. “every day I think about them.. and that little girl out there, she’s my everything. I’m doing everything, for her. I came here, for her. ” In Kai’s mind, he was at a point where if he could be a good father for Scarlet, raise her right, then there could be one thing he could say he actually did right in his life. For once he could do his best, and it would be good enough. “I’m a failure, a coward, and a lost f^^king cause, but I’m always trying… and I never got to even try to be anything for… two nineteen-year-old daughters that I didn’t even know I had…” Perhaps that was what hurt the most about the situation. Even if he never got to be in their lives, it was in a way worse to realize how he didn’t even know they existed, when he always had the others on his mind.

If you asked Eddie how he managed to get Florence to be his date to prom, he would say he had no idea. Sure, he asked her, but she actually said yes. Did she forget that she was out of his league? It was like with Paige, she was way out of his league, but she still decided to have sex with him, but that’s a whole other can of worms that Eddie was still trying to work through as it became an even more of a convoluted mess the more he tried to figure it out. Anyway, back to the subject at hand, Florence Carter. He still couldn’t understand how she even wanted to be around him as a friend in the first place, let alone as ever more than that. What could she see in him? Florence, like Paige, was nothing like him in nearly every way. Yet, the pair got along, became friends, and she even became someone he was more comfortable around than he was with most people. Though, that still didn’t mean it made sense why she actually said yes to be his date to prom, especially when there were probably dozens of other people who would’ve said yes to going with her in a heartbeat. Though whatever allowed Eddie to be fortunate enough to call Florence his prom date remained a mystery to him, he found himself that evening driving to her house to pick her up and bring her to prom. Eventually there did come a moment in which the pair separated, though for how long it would be, Eddie couldn’t say. Though, in true Eddie fashion, he did choose to take the time to at least get a little bit of footage of the night.

Do you know what this was? Being here, at prom, talking to Amanda only to have Paige join in? A complete waste of time and energy. Paige was a waste of… everything but she probably knows that so there’s no need in pointing that out. You know who else once again turned out to be a waste of time and energy? Amanda. A huge disappointment if you ask Finley. Just… Who and why would someone be with and do other awful things with Paige? Awful things since it’s with Paige, of course, and we know what I mean by that. At this point being by Olivia’s side sounds way more fun and exciting… Tell me again, why did he decide to just leave her?

Hearing Amanda defending Paige and then Paige making a terrible and completely not true comment only made Fin subtly roll his eyes and sigh in pure boredom. Just walk away Fin, just walk away and you won’t have to deal with these idiots. But Paige’s next statement was what stopped him from doing that. ”You’re flattering yourself if you think I want to do something with you again.” Look, he wouldn’t mind a nice little race but not with cheaters. ”And if I remember correctly, you are sht.” Enough interaction with the two? I would say it is. With one quick glance at Amanda, Fin was ready to walk past them and-

And do God knows what but people just have to keep stopping him, don’t they? Felling a little tap on his shoulders, not thinking much about it, Finley turned only to have someone PUNCH HIM. EXCUSE ME? What did he do now? That might’ve been a thought that crossed his mind after he stumbled back, his fingers lifting to his cut lip… Until he saw who decided it would be fun to do that. And until he heard who it was. ”You sure like… Giving people a show.” Ignoring Mason’s words because he was so boring, Fin subtly smiled looking down at little droplets of blood on his finger, staying where he was. But… There was a little fun in this, yes, he was absolutely pssed because of what happened but it seemed like this brought some attention onto them and who fights without a crowd? Fin sure likes the crowd. ”Maybe that’s why my father likes you so much.” Instead of returning some punches, which took everything inside of Fin not to do, he placed his hands in his pockets and slightly tilted his head, finally meeting Mason’s gaze with a hint of amusement on his own features. ”Is this your fcked up way to move on to his son? Sorry, I’m not interested.”

Hera’s heart broke a bit when she saw Persephone’s complete oblivion to their intervention. Screaming like a writer in the dark, too blind to see open arms that would be glad to hug her, too deaf to hear their kind words. Too deaf to hear anything at all. She didn’t know whether to feel worse for her sister or the people in her life. What led her to become this way? What went differently in their two seemingly parrallel upbringings? Maybe they just took their situations in strange ways. She could only hope Persephone was more than what she painted herself to be when the girl was at her worst.

Holy sh!t. Hera thought when Persephone began her speech. She aborted it? Did Leon know? Oh my god, Leon? She hadn’t spoken to him in forever. There were so many things that needed to be said, so many questions left without asking. She had a bone to pick with him, honestly. He didn’t tell them about his new girl, nor did he tell them about Persephone, nor did he tell her about his CHILD. Was his name even Leon? Was he actually a criminal on the run from the FBI? That would explain his affinity for people of high status, and all of the secrets. How old was he? One of her favorite friends turned out to be a complete stranger again.

Leon played his sister, AJ left to rehab because his addiction got too out of hand. Daiane was the only honest friend she ever had aside from being a significant other, but even that might be slipping away now with Embry coming back. How could Hera call Persephone oblivious? Hera never knew anything about the people closest to her. She was so stupid. She still hadn’t even asked Leon about the situation. As busy as life is, she was supposed to find time for her friends. And she was supposed to know which enemies were keeping her closer.

Hold up- MARRIED?! Hera smiled in blue burning rage, pacing through the crowd as they cleared a path for them, all leading up to Napoleon. “A word?” She asked, taking his hand without bothering to hear his response. His preferences weren’t going to affect her decision anyway. She didn’t notice his wife either, probably standing right beside him, god knows why. They just clicked their heels until the two stood outside of the gym, iron door shutting with a soft but clicky thud.

“Do you have anything to say for yourself?” They asked through gritted teeth. “Listen, I have been very nice to you. I didn’t force you to explain yourself to me even if you were acting very suspicious. I just wanted you to be comfortable!! I trusted you because I thought you were my friend!!” She sighed, looking down for a second, too sad to look into his eyes when she said this. “But you’re not.” Hera looked up.

“Because friends don’t get married and hide it, nor do they cheat on their wives with your sister. Nor do they get her pregnant and forget about it! You really looked into my sister’s eyes and didn’t see me standing behind them?” They asked, addressing his possible claim that he didn’t know they were family. After looking at her, but more importantly after hearing about her life. Did he not remember Hera’s stories? Did he not listen? Did he even care? And now he might have just been about to bring up that he didn’t connect the dots, like the fact that they weren’t related would make this situation any better. Kind to your friends or not, you can still be a tool.

“Why would you even hide that? Were you embarassed or something? You know I don’t care about that sh!t!! Holy f^ck, I’ve told you horrible things about me. I told you about my very frequent cheating problem with Ari, I told you about the girls I sent to the hospital before I was adopted, I told you about the months I went to rehab. Sh^t! Maybe if it hadn’t been my sister I really would have had your back!! I mean, yes I’d make you take accountability and everything but I would have never stopped being your friend. Considering the things I’ve done, it’d be more suprising for me to condemn your actions! I had your back.”

“I didn’t really care enough to look this girl in the eyes, but I’m sure you guys were doing your best to look happy tonight. Are you? Because either way I’m p!ssed. Because no matter how you may feel, the two of you were still standing in this room smiling like nothing was wrong until Persephone called y’all the f^ck out. I hate to say it, but I’m kind of glad you got to feel even a hint of the embarassment she’s felt in these past few months. And I know she’s crazy, and she does f^cked up sh!t, but do not act like you are innocent right now. Because you aren’t. Thoughts?” They asked, effortlessly looking at Leon’s weary face, whom she didn’t allow to speak throughout her entire monologue. He seemed so upset, she wished she cared.

To Sammy’s surprise… Richard invited Elijah to join them? I mean yes… do something but don’t make this a conga line my g. Figuring out those logistics would definitely kill the mood. Oh wait? The girl thought as Elijah went to face Richard. Then, she smirked when the two of them kissed tenderly. “So you two are just going to leave me out?” Sam asked in pleasurable curiousity. This situation was so strange. Yet, for some reason, she was all in. There were no fears here, although she was with her ex and a complete stranger. All she could think about in that moment was the two of them shirtless. Hot. She pecked Richard, adding herself to the mix, and then looked at Elijah for a second, contemplating her next action. He was her ex, and they hadn’t kissed since their breakup. So many times they had come so close, but it was prohibited. The picnic they ditched school for, the winter carnival, the study sessions in her room. Why did they always resist?

She kissed Elijah, too.
