It was just a normal day until she drove past the school just to turn around to see why all the students were gathering around something. She turned her car around and parked in a spot. What was even happening? Mare then started to hear faint sirens as they came nearer and nearer. They made her heart drop. It could be anyone she cares about or maybe not, but the more she pushed through the people to see who, it made her panic increase ten times more as she heard the whispers and cries between the small crowd. ’Is she dead?’ or ’911 has to hurry up otherwise…’ and the insensitive comment of ’Definitely not what i wanted to see today.’ She about whipped around to see who said that, but they were already hidden amongst the crowd. “Idiots…” She muttered under her breath and just reached the scene in front of her. Her eyes went wide as she took it all in, Daniel preforming compressions onto his cousin… Jess for how long and the pool of blood surrounding them. Andy and Dorian were beside her just before she went unconscious. What the h*ll even happened here? There is no way. Yet Mare could pick up on the bloody knife and the gash in her stomach. no no no no… then all of a sudden Jez on the ground and Valerie rushing to her. It made her head hurt trying to wrap her mind around what happened here. Most of the rumors were saying Jess was already dead and Jez another friend may be too. How badly she wished it wasn’t true but the way Daniel was so desperately trying to revive her and yell for help for Jez they must be right. She didn’t know how to react. This girl a childhood crush of hers and friend was dying and the last thing Jess knew was how upset she was with her. Daniel was already having a hard time so as Mare went to help him the ambulances were already off and so were they.
All she could do was watch what was unfolding. Memories of the two of them hit her like a wave causing her to lose her breath. Whether it was just the two of them or Dan being there too, they were all happy. She thought backs o the precious moments. They were much young then and teasing each other like crazy as they sat near a fire they made in the woods behind Mare’s house. Laughing about a comment Jess had made. Somehow she always knew what to say. Although just as she started to remember them, she was interrupted by a Jess look alike standing in front of her. Mare took a deep breath trying to contain the many tears wanting to flow and failed. That’s when the Other Pierce that she has heard so much about was standing in front of her. The one she had sex with… on accident. Still doesn’t know her name. She started to remember how used she felt when she put the dots together. She voiced how she felt on her face, annoyance before clearing her head and returning to the main topic at hand. Jess and Jez. The girl in front of her was clearly in distress, yet from what Mare heard she disliked Jess, a lot. Besides that Mare could only imagine how she would feel if she was in the situation with Eli. She nodded,”Ok ok, my cars this way. What hospital are they going to?” She spoke calmly with a distressed undertone. Everyone close to her were crying and understandably so. She looked toward her car as she gestured over to it with a light jog. If the girl didn’t know where this hospital was, they had to go now.
