Mareena Stokes

Her hands were gripped tight to the steering wheel, her knuckles having gone white from holding on so tight. Her heart hurt… for Jess, Dan, everyone. Even for the girl sitting next to her. She may not even deserve it, but she still felt bad for her. She was scrubbing at her hands so hard. Mare thought that she would’ve broken the skin soon enough. The girl would probably never feel clean even with bleach. Today would be a traumatizing day for her friends and the Pierce sitting in her car.

The two were almost there, just a few minutes till they reached the hospital finally. All of a sudden the girl started mumbling again. Mare pressed her lips to get her into a soft line as she listened to her. Jess jumped in front of her sister since a girl named El was trying to stab her… did she say dead? No maybe it was just a mistake. She started to remember the picture that stained in her mind now. The amount of blood surrounding Jess as she laid their possibly lifeless. She shook her head subtly as she struggled to figure out if she was dead or alive. Why would they bring her into the ambulance then? Wouldn’t they just bring out a body bag for her if she was dead? That would make sense, but her sister was there so wouldn’t she know? Mareena couldn’t wrap her mind around that single question, but she would soon find out when she reached there. There was a pause before she started to speak,”Jess would jump in front of death to save someone she cares about…” Even though Mare could be selfish and she could scream at Jess right now for doing that, but who wouldn’t? It’s her twin. People say that their is a special bond between them, they would be correct… at least for her anyways. That and she would probably do it for just about anyone. Mare glances at the blood soaked clothes now on the floor of her car. There just was so much lying there.

Jess’s sister keeps telling her how jess is dead and Mare doesn’t want to accept that. “Did her heart actually stop?” She asked in a small and light voice, practically a whisper. She didn’t even know if she wanted to know the answer to that question. So she stayed quiet for that moment. When did Kai get a sister? El… Kais sister stabbed Jess when she was trying to stab her instead. “That’s not your fault. You weren’t the one with the knife in your hand. You thought that you guys were just gonna talk like i’m sure you planned. That’s not your fault, it’s hers.” Mare spoke as she continued to look at the road.

She nodded as the girl told her the name. “Anna…” She mumbled to herself. Anna Pierce, the girl who used her. How fun. As Anna spoke, the emotions she felt back when she first found out came back. The wound still fresh. Mare was stupid to think that Jess could change so much in such a seemingly small time now. “I know,” Was all Mareena said to her. The last thing she was expecting was an apology from her though. “I- uhm…” She didn’t know how to respond to it. She swallowed as she started to think of a response,”It’s fine.” It wasnt really, but why hold onto it. Mare then pulled into the hospital. Fine is the word that she uses when she isn’t okay, but why show it to the world. “Ok well it’s not…” She admitted. She felt used and honestly didn’t know what to believe. Before that day she had no idea of her twin. Sure it was mentioned a few times, but she never has seen her so why think it was her. She just wanted to slap herself for being so stupid. She should’ve been p^ssed and she used to be, but to just ignore that for sex. She internally cringed.

Jezebel Mallory Parker

Even after everything that happened, Jess was still herself. She was still Jess, joking like always, being her normal self, at least, trying to be. “You being alive is definitely a win.” Had Jezebel been able to get out of bed herself at that moment, she would’ve gone over to Jess, but unfortunately for them both, neither really could. As Jess started to speak with a sad look on her face, beginning with telling her that she wasn’t going to lie to her, Jezebel grew more worried. The news wasn’t good. Jezebel closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before her lips formed a slight smile. There wasn’t a good outlook for the baby, but she was still alive. Jezebel knew her daughter wasn’t dead. She still had a chance to grow up. It didn’t matter how small of a chance it was, Jezebel was holding onto that chance as much as she could. “She’s alive.” Jezebel felt a sense of relief, getting to know that she wasn’t dead, though her mind was filled with more worry. “I guess I don’t have the time I thought I did to figure out her name. If you were able to make it, there’s no reason she can’t.” Jezebel had to keep a hopeful outlook. It was that or think about the worse, more likely, case, and she didn’t want to cry.

Though usually a wedding wouldn’t raise much attention from Delilah, especially one between two people she had no relation to, but a royal wedding… that was something else. It was history. So, despite not caring the slightest for either party, Delilah was willing to open up her ‘special events’ wardrobe and pretend otherwise for one evening to be able to say she was a real life witness to the highly publicised event that people across the country- if not world- would kill to be of attendance.

Arriving at the Kingdom of Listaria, every person stepping foot on the grounds coming out of the limos that had been an additional courtesy from the royal family. Though as Delilah was about to look up and enter the castle, her phone ringing put that on a pause. Opening her phone, she saw that it was a call from Beryl Heights County Jail. She immediately diverted her path to make sure no one could see the caller before answering it, assuming it would be about her father coming out in the next few days.

The general formalities came first, confirming her identity, and when that had passed she expected to be given a date. But something different came. “It seems, Miss Hawthorne, that your father’s inmates caught wind of his soon release, and there’s been an… altercation,” The man said through the phone, showing hesitation between each word, trying to find the right one to come next, but Delilah had already filled in the blanks by the time he reached the end. She sighed, looking around at her surroundings, how far away she was from just being able to turn around, listening as he told her he would be calling with updates in the next hour or so.

Although her mind had filled with worst-case scenarios, Delilah knew there was nothing she could do right now. So, she did what any normal person would do in this situation, cleanse herself of any worry she may have been showing on her face and… attend a royal wedding.

Royal weddings. sigh. Daniel Parker was never really a fan of them; and trust him, he had been to many in his lifetime. It was usual for him and his entire family to be invited - being in line for the throne that is. Though apparently; in this special turn of events, the senior class of C High was also invited to this one; something Dan liked to call “damage control by the Azure family”. So not only was Daniel stuck going to a Royal wedding with his entire bloody family which came with its own set of problems - Cousin Casey was a b!tch let me tell you that - but it was also next to a bunch of nobodies who had no business being in the presence of royalty. Hell. Dorian? DORIAN? That idiot wouldn’t last a minute with the people in attendance. Though the other issue was that it was also he who shall not be named’s wedding. Yes that guy Dan had decided to never take the arse’s name again… even though it was technically written everywhere; from the invitations to the napkins. In all honesty; Dan would have skipped in an instant to stay with Jessica while she was still stuck in the hospital doing physical therapy BECAUSE of the idiot getting married. The girl could walk now though couldn’t stay up for more than maybe 20 minutes before collapsing and honestly; Dan put full blame on he-who-shall-not-be-named. Buttt noooo family obligations (aka his mother and father) had forced him to go.

And so he was here; smiling for the photographers as he arrived at the castle in his limo with his sister Jezebel - who he had convinced to come with. Her baby was still alive; though after two weeks of her just standing in front of his incubation chamber (as he liked to call it) he convinced her that a day away wouldn’t hurt… and trust him - that took a lot of convincing. As they made their way in the castle; guests already taking their seats - Dan told his sister he’d be back before moving towards the Pianist. “Is there anyways I could convince you to play anything but here comes the bride? Such a bloody bore. Maybe “No diggity” by backstreet boys? No?,” Dan asked; sighing after the pianist said no - giving the harpist sitting nearby a look like did this idiot sneak in or…

“Ahh, the little Azure. Mind helping me convince the musicians here to change up the walking down the aisle song,”? Dan questioned the little hacker extrodinarire and possibly the only Azure he tolerated anymore.

A royal wedding. That did sound very important, something Dorian wouldn’t miss if he was invited. Who would? But knowing who was getting married only made him hate the idea of going. He never really had a problem with Malachi before he started seeing Jessica. Yes, he did dislike him because of the stupid idea his sister had but he never thought he was… bad? Well, that changed very quickly. Very quickly he started hating the guy for what he did to his friend. Big word but it was the truth. So maybe he wasn’t mad at his mother for making him go and keeping Elodie safe, maybe he was excited to see Malachi getting married to someone he didn’t like, from what Dorian could hear. There was nothing worse than that. And hey, Jessica was alive so that made him not hate life and actually listen to his mother.

The Kingdom of Listaria. What kind of name was that? it surely wasn’t as important because he’s never heard of it before. Or that royal family. But he was never really interested in that so who was he to judge? It was a beautiful place, that he had to admit. The moment he got out of the limo with his sister he was taken aback by the view, by the castle. His gaze wandering around the place until it set on a girl. A girl that seemed too busy talking on the phone, a call that wasn’t very pleasant? How could he know? But it did make him a bit curious. He was strangely intrigued by the girl he didn’t like that much a while ago, ever since he found her in a room with a broken mirror or… when she went after him the day Jessica was hurt. That wasn’t what he expected would happen and he was almost happy he wasn’t all alone. He kept his eyes on her the whole time until she walked in and then he looked back at his sister that was fixing her dress and panicking. Something about having to look good and whatnot. “Ready?”

The inside of the castle was exactly what he expected it would be but he didn’t think there would be so many people there. All in fancy clothes with their heads held up high, with strange accents and posh lives. But it was a royal wedding, should he be surprised? They were all slowly taking their seats but he just stood there… not for long. Leaving his sister, he started walking towards Delilah, trying to stay optimistic about everything happening around him. “I think I hate this,” but that was the first thing he said before he completely shifted his attention to her with a subtle smile. “Everything alright?”

April… May… June. It has been almost three months since the accident that put a pause on his life, and getting back on his feet wasn’t easy for one Giovanni Manuel De Luca, a boy who had seemed to disappear from the face of the earth like nothing in one unfortunate day. Being flipped over by a vehicle and somehow staying alive could in a way be great and all, but not when you don’t remember anything that happened in the past three years. Of course, it was better than nothing, it wasn’t as if he didn’t remember anything and who he was… Well, that was only partially true. There were quite so many things Gio did not remember, crucial things of three of the most eventful and life-changing in his 18 years on this planet, things that have happened to him and changed him as a person over time. Luckily for him, he wasn’t alone in this chaos, having Annabel by his side as well as his sister Francesca and obviously the medical team, trying to help him recover and get back to himself, or even a new version of himself, anything, just not this.

Three bloody years of your life is a lot, and it sucks not to remember your whole high school experience, and from what he was told, as crazy and hard as it was, there were also some good parts he hated himself for not remembering. Like Luciano, god he hated the way he didn’t remember the amazing relationship they had, because honestly, Gio has never loved anyone in his life as much as he loved Luciano. He was like a gift from god sent to him from heaven, better than anything he could possibly imagine in his wildest dreams. But he didn’t remember it. And if any of you ever asked yourselves how it felt to wake up and be told that you have an amazing partner and best friend you loved so much, and it rings no bells in his mind? Well, it feels like absolute sh!t. It hurts so fcuking much.

There was a plus side to it because remembering the way his father kicked him out wasn’t really the greatest fun, but there he was, an 18-year-old boy who in his mind had the mentality, but the memories of a 15-year-old. Physical therapy for the rest of the accident injuries went by and seemed to be working quite well even though he still wasn’t as good as he was before, he could move, he could walk, he could swim, but even if he got to the point where he wanted to get back to performing, it probably wouldn’t be as easy and good for him as before.

Gio hasn’t been back at the school year ever since the accident, although he did need to graduate somehow eventually. Though at this point his brain was functioning a lot better now, coming back to school was something he couldn’t bring himself even though he knew that was probably a good move on the road to full recovery. And that was what lead him up to this day, June 16th, the wedding of Malachi Azure and Princess Evangeline Langdon of Listaria. And although it was a weird place to show his face after all these months, Gio decided to go, even though he didn’t really know Kai more than recognising his name and face in school halls, even before the whole accident and memory loss. But for some unknown reason, the whole senior class of C high was invited, so attending only seemed like a fair thing to do.

He stood in front of the mirror at Annabel’s place where he had been staying when he wasn’t in the hospital, It was small, but he didn’t need much. Looking at his reflection as he adjusted his light purple suit which he got especially for the occasion. Was he scared? Not really, that would be a major understatement, he was bloody terrified. Although his memory has been slowly getting somewhat better, he still wasn’t fully there, and it was all in theory, he hadn’t seen all those people in months and god knew what could happen.

Frankly, he had never heard of the kingdom of Listaria before, or at least he couldn’t remember hearing of it. But as Kai was marrying their princess, that’s where the wedding was about to be held. After the whole way travelling to this far away kingdom, the boy stood in front of the castle, a real damn castle. Seeing so many people coming all around, got him nervous… What if nobody even cared or remembered him? Which was quite an ironic thing to worry about since, well… You know.

”Annie… I’m scared. I can’t do this….” He said, putting his phone to his ear, standing on his own in a hidden quiet corner as he called his best friend, who was with him supporting and helping him all along through this crazy story. And it was easier since he actually recognised and remembered her all along, since he knew her basically his whole life. ”Yes you can G. Try to relax, breath. This is nothing you can’t handle.” she said, trying to calm him down, and adding she was there and her phone was always with her if he needed. Her words did calm him down a bit, but it was still very scary, and there wasn’t much to do to make it not scary, because it just was.

So after talking to her for a few minutes, he hung up the phone and then took a deep breath, trying to pull his sh!t together, the boy walked out towards the Listaria castle, entering the wedding event venue as he looked around at all the fancy looking people, astounded by the whole thing since he had never been to an event as fancy as this. Hell, it was a real royal wedding, he had never been to one before.

Entering the castle, she looked up at the high ceiling and the open space. Maybe Blue Royalty wasn’t the way to go, it was actual royalty by marrying into it that should be the life goal. Not that she was even sure that marriage was something in her future. She couldn’t imagine doing it anytime soon, and certainly not now. Commitment to someone seemed impossible to the point it almost scared her a bit. Not that she would admit that.

As her eyes had circled around the scenery, they stopped at the sound of Dorian’s pessimistic comment about the wedding. Her eyes fell in a motion that… one would say was checking him out before coming back up in an eyeroll in reaction to his comment. “What’s not to like about watching complete strangers, surrounded by more complete strangers, getting married?” She asked, looking at the family of the bride- the current main focus of the small crowd surrounding them- looking rather judgementally at the senior class that had somehow made it into a castle. “But, a marriage, even a loveless one, into royalty doesn’t seem like the worst way to live,” Delilah added, thinking out loud, before finally turning back to him.

She raised her eyebrows slightly wondering if there was a reason to him asking if everything was alright. Because it wasn’t. But had she made that too obvious? Either way Delilah wasn’t going to surrender that truth this early. “I could ask you the same thing,” She replied, thinking back to their last ‘conversation’- or lack thereof. Though Jess had ended up being okay, it was still something she figured was still worth checking about. “Are you… okay?” Delilah asked him, despite concern still being something unnatural to her.

There were many reasons why it sucked watching complete strangers, being surrounded by more strangers, getting married and the biggest one was that it was a waste of time. And that one of those “strangers” wasn’t a stranger but someone he didn’t like. There were many things he would rather be doing now but avoiding this wasn’t an option so he tried to find a way to make it a bit more bearable by… worrying about Delilah? “You…” laugh lightly at her words, he crossed his arms, still looking at the crowd in front of them. “Have one messed up view of life. But do I disagree?” Continuing, Dorian simply shrugged his shoulders, hiding a smirk that was forming on his lips. “It can’t be that bad.” Being a royalty wasn’t bad, but a loveless marriage? Even Dorian wouldn’t say yes to that, no matter what you offer him. But marriage was the last thing on his mind right now. Not just now but in general.

As Delilah ignored his question, he let his gaze lower for a second the same way she did just minutes ago; yes he noticed. But soon he playfully rolled his own eyes, smiling lightly. “I think I was the first one to ask?” Turning to completely face her, he almost teasingly said, keeping his arms crossed. “And you should work on…” He could also notice the lack of confidence in her question. It didn’t seem like she wasn’t concerned after their last encounter but she surely wasn’t comfortable showing that. And it was almost entertaining. “That. It really sounds like someone is forcing you to be nice,” continuing with a teasing tone and a playful smile, he refused to answer just because she still didn’t. But was he okay? Yes, he was. Still a bit shocked with what happened it what could’ve happened but it wasn’t anything to worry about. “Try again?”

What the f*ck? Ruby rubbed her eyes, staring at the invitation in her hand. A royal wedding? She didn’t even know these people, and here she was, sitting in a limo, being driven to some place that sounded like a food borne illness. Apparently they hadn’t given her a background check, because if they had, she definitely wouldn’t have been invited. Who invites a pyromaniac to a wedding, anyway? There’d most likely be wooden pews in the church, and knowing Ruby, that wouldn’t end well. Ruby sighed as the limo door was opened, and she got out, looking around.

Marie internally screamed, trying not to freak out. She was currently sitting in a limo, going to a royal wedding. She was acquainted with Malachi, but just saying hello in the halls, they never interacted much. Still, Marie was very happy for the couple as the limo drove to the kingdom of Listaria. The limo stopped, and Marie thanked the chauffeur, getting out of the limo. She walked over to a small group of people, looking for someone she knew.

Two weeks had gone by in a blur. Weeks filled with witnessing death first hand… with finding out that everything she thought she knew was a lie… that she needed to reevaluate her life. And re-evaluate is exactly what she did. Anna Pierce had changed for what many would say, the better. And for that; Jessica had easily forgiven her. Sisters by chance; friends by choice. It was words that echoed in her mind after being said weeks earlier when Anna had apologized. Apologized for everything and the girl was truly working towards fixing her relationship with Jess. Anyone could see that. Dan might still not appreciate her attempts, and Andy McDandy probably still wasn’t the biggest fan alongside Jessica’s other friends - but she was trying.

A soft sigh left her lips as she sat frozen in the limo looking outside; watching as photographers stood there taking photos of who was at the wedding. Her sister wasn’t in attendance… for obvious reasons… but she almost didn’t want to be either. It took quite a bit of convincing from her sister who emplored her to go for her to have shown up; wearing a sparkly off-white dress nonetheless. Yeah… wouldn’t be surprised if she got a bit of shii for wearing that but too late now. “Ma’am?” her driver asked and the girl turned towards him. “Sorry,” She whispered, “I’m ready.” Was she? Technically she was trained for these types of events. Royal events; playing the part of the Pierce daughter who could easily fit into any crowd. But another part of her wasn’t ready. Something about everything that had happened recently worried her. Could she play the part as well as she had before death had knocked on the Pierce family doors. Or almost death? Well… guess there was no time like the present to find out. As her driver opened the door of her limo; she took a deep breath and held the man’s hand to help steady her up. Immediately a million photographers started clicking their cameras; flashes going on from every angle. Though instead of walking forward like the girl usually would have; Anna waited for a second for the next limo to exit with her little siblings and their aids. Yes; for these types of events, Jessica and Anna’s parents hired watchers to watch the 2 four-year-olds. Though she had made a promise that whenever she was there; she would stay with them. “Heyyyy loves,” Anna smiled; bending down as the little kids ran up to her immediately and hugged her leg. Emmy immediately put her hands up indicating she wanted to be held through a frown met the girl’s lips. “Later okay,” Anna whispered putting her hands out towards both of them, Will holding her left hand and Emmy holding her right, so she could walk inside with them - the aids close behind. Though photos were still being taken; the girl only bent down once to smile with her siblings before walking into the castle hall quicker than she usually would have with a red carpet-like photography session that would be posted on most of the tabloids around the world… within a few minutes honestly. After all; Part of being a Pierce was making sure photos were taken of her, though in any case, she moved on; tightening her grip on her sibling’s hands as to not lose them as they entered the castle where the ceremony was being held - before, of course, moving over to the ballroom or garden later for the reception. Royal weddings were, after all, always the same. Wedding in the castle hall; then depending on the time of day, either the garden was used for entertaining or the ballroom was.

Though entering the room; the girl immediately spotted all of Jessica’s friends - honestly most of them sticking out like sore thumbs amongst the crowd of people who regularly attended these types of weddings. Though she didn’t approach any of them; Instead Anna talked with her little siblings… something she hadn’t done in a long time as she walked towards their seat near the middle front. The senior class was seated farther behind her - which wasn’t a surprise. Taking a seat, a soft sigh of relief leaving her lips that she did so without getting stuck talking to any of her extended family members which was… always interesting… Anna smiled at the two children with her. Talking with the two as others slowly filled in. Though it wasn’t long until the two found another child in their midst and begin playing with the girl who seemed to be the flower girl for the wedding. And there she was again; sitting alone waiting for the event to start. Though she had waited only a few moments before taking her cellphone out of her clutch and texting her sister; checking in with the girl periodically.

Though she was distracted when a familiar blonde joined her row. Jezebel Sloane; her newly uncovered cousin. One who was right alongside Jessica in the hospital. Though technically Anna and Jezebel hadn’t spoken often; the two had seen each other when she visited her sister. “Good Morning Jezebel,” the girl stated; putting her phone down as she sat down near her. “I have to say I’m surprised you joined today… how’s the baby?”

Sirens; both from police cars and ambulances echoed in his mind from that night. The night he almost lost Sadie Monroe. When she closed her eyes he almost thought he lost her. That he lost a friend that he cared so damn much about; and was almost starting to think of as more than a friend. Yes… perhaps Jordan had been on a path of falling in love for the second time. For the first time since one Jezebel Parker - who he always had a part of his heart. Honestly; Jez would truly always have that part. But it was time… clearly… for him to move on. Did Jordan like Mikel? No… but he knew Jez and Mikel were trying to work it out for their baby and he respected that. He respected a baby having both its parents.

So when Sadie survived; Jordan couldn’t describe the sense of relief that washed over him - going to see her the moment he was allowed into her room and hugging her… and… well, kissing her. More out of instinct than anything else but that kiss… hell it was something. It was a kiss he couldn’t get out of his mind; a kiss that inspired him to write a new song. A kiss that he kept coming back for more. Hence asking her out and making an impromptu date in the hospital. Jordan had always been good at dates on a budget; though now that he had the money to support himself he did go a little more out than he usually would have - decorating her hospital room like a date around the world. He had bought a specialized projection that made the room look as if they were in a different location with the click of a button - from the beach, to Paris, to Rome. And Jordan had bought food from all of those places (making sure with the doctors that she could eat it) and went on his first date with the girl. Which lead to their second… and their third, and now - the date of Kai’s wedding was their fourth. Of course things had happened along the way that was no less… worrisome. Jezebel going into labor sent Jordan on a frantic whirlwind as he went to comfort her. Where Mikel was during all of this, who the hell knew. He wasn’t in the hospital though - that much Jordan could say. And all he could do was hold Jezebel.

Suffice to say; It had been… a month full of… interesting events. And now he was here; in a large dressing room waiting with the other groomsmen as people - seamstresses - helped Kai get ready for his wedding. Wedding… that was a crazy term. A month ago Jordan hadn’t seen a moment where Kai wasn’t with Jess in his arms and now he was here. Getting married to a princess… though Jordan didn’t judge. He had no right to; after all - he never knew the whole story. What he did know what he had gotten close to the man after living under him so when Kai asked if he’d be one of his groomsmen, he agreed. Jordan had left Sadie with a kiss in the hall before arriving in the room; the room guarded with royal security so Jordan nearly had to sell his soul (aka show two forms of ID) before even being allowed in the room filled with a few people he recognized and some he didn’t. Most of the men were conversing about different things - how Kai’s bachelor party was amazing, how they wished the open bar was open right now, etc. Either way; Jordan found himself gravitating towards another man - Dominic Lucier - who was sitting in the corner. Jordan knew him fairly well over the years since… well… his humble beginnings as a forced drug mule for his father. “Hey,” Jordan stated; leaning against the wall as he looked towards the man. “How are you holding up? I saw you and Theo… giving each other looks holding up I’m not sure if everything’s okay with you two?” the man asked. “But hey, none of my business. Did you bring a date?” the man questioned; out of curiosity more than anything else. Maverick and Dom had been hanging out together more often so it was hard not to assume - though his friend Mav hadn’t directly said anything.

So much had happened over the past month. With her brother’s birthday, Jessica had broken up with him, and at the same point, their parents had found out where he was. Let’s just say… he caught a lot of heat for being in Beryl Heights, and Akielah wasn’t treated as an innocent bystander either. She had known Kai would be there since before he left New York. Soon after, the announcement was made, the announcement of Kai marrying the princess, second in line for the throne, of some place called Listaria. It wasn’t Kai’s choice of course. It was yet another choice about Kai’s future that was made by their parents. Kai, as the second oldest Azure, took the brunt of their parents control. He was the only reason her and Raph had their freedom, while Ria was the baby of the family who could get away with anything. Though, the announcement of the wedding certainly wasn’t the most eventful thing to have happened in that time. Elettra, Akielah’s older sister, had managed to escape the mental facility she had been in for the past 6 years. Akielah, certainly much more than either of her brothers, had a tense relationship with their big sister. Kai could never push his own twin sister out of his life. Raphael, he didn’t have any strong relationship either way, and Ria… didn’t even really know Elettra. Ria wasn’t even born until after Elettra was institutionalized. Akielah on the other hand, she saw her sister for her worst. She tried over the years, but she had nothing to say on her behalf. Blood didn’t make Elettra her family. Not since Elettra and Kai’s 13th birthday. Not since she, at 8 years old, had found her big brother in the kitchen, after he was going to get her a slice of birthday cake, bleeding out, with Elettra standing to the side happily eating her own slice of cake, just watching. Akielah could never forget the blood, and almost losing her brother like that because of Elettra, and 6 years later, she hears that Elettra did it again. Kai was in the hospital again because of f***ing Elettra, and Elettra didn’t just hurt him this time, she nearly killed Jessica as well, which made the whole situation that much worse. In the two weeks since, Akielah spent quite a bit of her time with her brother, after all when Kai was in the hospital she wasn’t going to just not see him. The younger Azure siblings needed a chance to be with their brother when he was hurt, while their parents dealt with the Elettra situation, and before Kai got married. Out of all of the Azures, Akielah was the one who probably knew most how much Kai didn’t want any of this. He didn’t like being there at his own wedding, and Akielah honestly didn’t like it either. She was wearing a fancy dress, among all the fancy royalty and guests, instead of wearing jeans, with headphones on, sitting in a corner somewhere on her laptop like she wanted. Though, on a positive note, one Daniel Parker came up to her asking for her assistance in convincing the musicians to change things up for the music when the princess walked down the aisle. “I already tried to convince the violinist to play something more interesting, but I’ve had no luck so far. Apparently they don’t like feedback from the groom’s little sister.”

“I already tried to convince the violinist to play something more interesting, but I’ve had no luck so far. Apparently they don’t like feedback from the groom’s little sister.”

“Clearly they’re crazy,” Dan laughed - not caring that he was standing right next to the musicians who all gave him a strange look when he said that. What could he say; if they couldn’t take the heat they shouldn’t be at a wedding. Do you know how many crazy brides yelled at the musicians? Most of them. “What did you ask them to play; I think ‘No diggity’ has a good rhythm for the princess to walk down but I wouldn’t mind them playing milkshake either,” he added. Pointing towards a door by the side that led to the quieter hallway he led the girl out so they could talk. “Alright, Akielah,” Dan smiled, leaning against the wall. “Let’s test your skills,” Dan muttered; taking his phone out as he typed a few things on his phone.

“Three minutes; I put a bug in the electric system. Nothing too complex; but a little trickier than the hacks you were doing a month ago,” he said, throwing the girl his phone. “Remove it before the lights turn off and all these guests have a mental breakdown,” Dan explained. Perhaps he was testing her - seeing what she had in that head of his. She did surprise him quite a few times, but he was seeing if she could continue to do so; and Daniel hadn’t gone easy on her. The hack wasn’t your simple run-of-the-mill hack. It was a bug that destroyed everything you fixed while you fixed it. Though he was seeing if she could find the turnaround. The trick. And do it within a time frame of three minutes.

While she was working; Daniel watched her for a minute or so - but when there were about a minute and a half left; he begins talking to her casually. Not because he was trying to distract her. But rather because he knew their minds worked on multiple levels. Something simple like talking wasn’t going to make a difference in her work. And if it did - he would be surprised. “So; guess you’re joining the royal sh!t show which is the perks of being related to royalty,” Dan said casually. Honestly, he didn’t care if Kai was marrying royalty. He was just glad he was the hell away from his cousin. “A little tip; there are no real perks. Sure you get invited to a few weddings and baby showers here and there but it’s more of a job than a perk after a while, trust me,” Dan stated.

She had done it. Candice Clarke had finally done it. A month; that’s how long it took with Daniel Parker’s help to prove in court that her mother was an unfit guardian for HER son. That’s how long it took for Candice to get her one-year-old in her hands. But she had him. The beautiful little boy who had pale skin, dark hair, and bright greenish-blue eyes. And now; she never needed nor wanted to see her mother again. She had everything she wanted from her. And now, Candice Clarke was never going to let go. Mostly… Candice had let her father, who returned to testify weeks ago, babysit her baby while she went to the Kingdom of Listaria; to ironically attend the wedding of her child’s father. A father she had yet to tell even had a child. Not to say she hadn’t tried… but things just kept happening. First, he got into an accident and then there were no visitors allowed to see him… hell, she didn’t even have his number. And… well… Val was still avoiding her calls making her feel more and more guilty every single day about what she had done. Perhaps at first, CC thought she did the right thing. Though slowly she realized the gravity of her mistake. The thing was; even if Daniel was a mistake - it was a mistake that Val deserved to make and figure out for herself. And if he was; CC would be there for her. And if he wasn’t; we’ll CC would still be there for her. Because no matter what; Val would be CC’s best friend. Val was CC’s person - and part of her wasn’t ready to let that go.

Entering the wedding in her dark green ballgown; Candice made her way further inside and took a seat around the area she was sectioned off into. It was near the back though she wasn’t surprised; it seemed like the last-minute senior invite was seated at the back anyways. She looked around; she knew her sister had arrived as well - though left on a plane before her since she was still dealing with a few last-minute details. And she knew… somewhere… Val was in the room. Part of the girl wondered if she had told Kai yet… that her baby was also his…

In any case… maybe she’d get a chance to find out today… though she didn’t want anything from him. Hell… perhaps the only thing she wanted from him was a medical history so she could take care of Zachary better. If he didn’t want anything to do with the baby; she didn’t mind. If he did… she’d let him. After all, it was his child as well and she wouldn’t steal that away from him. Not like her mother had stolen it from her.

“Clearly.” Akielah said before rolling her eyes with a comment of, “I’m just not important enough for them. Probably only going to listen to royalty, or my parents.” Akielah sighed. “I don’t even care what it is. Something that doesn’t drone on and put us to sleep because its been used for practically every wedding this past century.” Daniel then pointed towards a side door, where she followed him into the quiet hallway. She nodded as he brought up testing her skills. “It would be quite the entertainment to see that mental breakdown though.” Phone in hand, she quickly went to work with the hacking. By about a minute in, her frustration was clear by the silent string of curse words she muttered as things did not go how she wanted. “Seems like it, not that I even have a choice. Weddings and baby showers, basically no perks other than bragging rights really.” One perk that couldn’t be denied, with being related to royalty, there came bragging rights. “This really would’ve been so much easier if my dad hadn’t of kidnapped my laptop.” Akielah at that point, with 1.07 seconds to spare, finished the hack she had to do in the three minutes Daniel had given.

Mareena Stokes

Flashback - April 16, 2021

Mareena was in the bathroom of the hospital as she awaited for this pregnancy test that they stole to tell her what will happen. Her hands were shaking from the adrenaline of sneaking into a storage closet for a test and waiting for this to say something. God, she had no idea how this would happen. She does, but they were always careful, right? The more she thought about it, the more the symptoms became clearer. Morning sickness, nausea, etc. It didn’t make sense, did it break or something? Either way if it did, Mare has no idea what’s he would do. She stood there leaning onto the sink as she stared at the pregnancy test in the sink. All she could see right now were the dotted lines stating it was thinking. She jumped as their was a knock on the door, Anna. “Uhm, nothing yet.” She responded as Anna asked what was happening. Would Mareena even be fit to be a mother? Especially at this young of an age? She has her whole life ahead of her and she has no clue how it would be if a baby was thrown in there. Who was she kidding, maybe she was overreacting and it’s just a false alarm. She could’ve had like food poisoning or something even though she has never had it. Moving her eyes to the test to see if it was finished. Her eyes went wide as she gasped. The test read pregnant. “Oh my…” How- what- why- so many questions running through her head at once. She luckily brought in a few more so she took the three more tests and waited another few minutes. “It could be just a false positive? Even though it wasn’t likely since these were hospital ones, but there’s a chance. Small, but a chance.” Mareena took a deep breath and looked back down at the multiple tests sitting in the sink now… all of them saying pregnant. “Breath Mare, Breathe. In and out, in and out.” She told herself as she tried not to panic. She was pregnant with Theo’s child. She was even more nervous with how he’d react. He was still a father to Rosalie even if he isn’t biological so how would he feel about another? Maybe they might put his life on hold for him too.

End of Flashback - June 16

Today’s the day she tells him. Drawing in a quick breath as she continued on her makeup. She may never want to wear it, but this was indeed a royal wedding. She pinned her hair to the back of her head and left face framing pieces. The dress was absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps it might distract him from the news? She sighed as she started to panic again. Mare flapped her hands towards her face to try and calm herself down. Her palms were sweaty and she started to lose her composure all over again. “Dammit, c’mon Mare. You’ll be fine. What’s the worst thing that could happen? He could always break up with you and not want the baby.” Psyching herself out, she wanted to smack herself. He wouldn’t, but it’s always there. Stupid overthinking. They wanted this to be good. Better than last time, no screw ups. So much for not rushing into things, now there’s a baby on the way. But this baby made her day, even with all the stressful things happening. This baby brought more happiness than stress. Someone knocked on the door, needing this room now. She took one last big breath before unlocking the door and heading out to find him.

Putting on a smile, she walked throughout the venue in search for Theo. Just as she was about to grab a glass of wine she frowned. How much she needed a little bit of alcohol courage and she couldn’t get it. So instead Mare grabbed a small desert. Desert fixes everything. Then as she looked up, she met eyes with him and made her way over to him. He was dressed up in a nice suit, even matched her dress color. Unplanned, but that works. She drew a quick breath and smiled at him. A blush running over her cheeks from nervousness and just him. He had a major affect over her. Just thinking of him brought a huge smile to her face. “Hello there handsome. How has it been so far since you are apart of the groomsmen?”So far so good. Don’t let your face show how scared you are right now. “Uhm, i have to tell you something in private. Do you mind?” She gestures using her head over to the room near them that no one else was in.

She merely shrugged at Dorian telling her she had a messed up view of life, keeping her eyes on the continuous flow of people entering the castle. That would be something that came with having a messed up life, yes. But Delilah didn’t give him anything to make inferences from, giving him no audible response to that. She couldn’t see marriage in her future, but if it was, the life she depicted seemed better than the many different alternatives she had been recently imagining herself in.

Dorian was quick to point out that she had clearly deflected the question onto him instead. “Wow, great observation,” Delilah replied sarcastically to him through a sigh, before raising her eyebrows to make it clear that she was waiting for him to reply before she would even think about giving him an answer. Perhaps Delilah let out a smile of defeat when he commented on her poor attempt at asking. “Well I sincerely apologise for it not being up to your standard, I’ll try again just for you,” She replied jokingly as he looked expectantly at her for a redo. Though since his response had sufficiently told Delilah that he was clearly fine now, she dropped her shoulders, “Actually, it’s okay, I’ve lost interest in it now. As if there was any in the first place,” Delilah disclosed, keeping a small hint of the joking tone that she had before.

Two and a half weeks have passed since the soccer game has, a day that turned from a normal day to a living nightmare. Or… not exactly living. Not at first at least. Watching Jessica stabbed and die in front of his eyes was probably the hardest thing he had been though since the day his father died. Because other than his sister, Ziah, and the child on the way, Jessica was with no doubt one of the most important people in his life, closer to his heart than almost any person has ever been. But somehow she survived, and so did Jezebel and her baby, and Kai.

Speaking of Kai, apparently the boy was getting married, and not just to anyone, to a real damn princess. How long has it been since he and Jessica were together? Not much. And this wedding out of the blue was just a proof as for why he never fully trusted Kai to be good enough for her. Apparently, he was right.

But his whole class, was invited to the wedding. Well… almost his whole class. But Andy decided to go anyway, might as well enjoy the event no?

Finding himself in his black floral suit, in the kingdom of listeria along with the rest, Andy entered the castle where the wedding was placed, and looking around, he saw his cousin Elodie standing there. He and Elodie weren’t necessarily close, but he always cared for her as if she was his own sister. The things you’d do for family, right? ”This dress looks really good on you” he said, complimenting the girl with a light smile

“Thank you,” Dorian mouthed with a sarcastic smile to her “apology”, actually waiting for her to try again and sound more sincere. But did he care? Absolutely not. He was simply bored, looking for some kind of entertainment in the moment when he knew she wouldn’t give him an answer he was looking for. He could’ve just said he was alright but where was the fun in that? A chuckle escaped his lips when she said she lost interest, noticing there was still a small hint of the joking tone. “Fine. I’ve also lost interest. As if there was any in the first place,” with a shrug he turned away from her, as if he was completely done with the conversation. But looking around, acting like he was ignoring her, he tried to hide a playful smile that was still on his lips.

And he stayed quiet for a moment, waiting to see if she would say something but also paying a little more attention to everything around them. Taking a second to see where his sister was, to make sure she wasn’t alone. Now what he said earlier was obviously a lie, he was still wondering what was happening with the girl standing next to him. “If we were anywhere but here I’d walk away right now but I’m afraid I don’t have anything better to do,” Dorian quietly spoke up, glancing at her. “So… you still don’t want to answer? Or would you rather let me walk you to take a seat?” With a very subtle smirk, he continued, jokingly putting his hand up for her to take while avoiding to look at her.
