“And you are the best friend of my favorite person in the whole entire world. Dare I say that makes you my second favorite person … You deserve respect much more than I do. But if you are uncomfortable with being praised as much as my sister is … I shall drop the subject and lead you to the dance floor.” He noticed her hand extended towards him, so he gently took it, so that she can feel his hand and know he has taken her hand withouth taking it so abrubtly he scares her. He slowly leads her to the dance floor and as he stopped he made sure she realized he was walking slower until the point where he wanted to stop so the stop isn’t to sudden for her. “I must ask who took part in teaching you to dance, I must congratulate both you for being a great student and them for being an exceptional teacher. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing you dance just now and noticed little to no fault. I doubt you would fail now, but if you think you cannot finish the dance or suddenly you become afraid you won’t do the dance right, tell me and I’ll make sure you have no need to be afraid.”

But if you are uncomfortable with being praised as much as my sister is … I shall drop the subject and lead you to the dance floor.” Bridget blushed pink once more. She gently tucked her hair behind her ear once more, she didn’t quite understand why her mother advised keeping her hair out of her face. It couldn’t be obstructing her vision, of course. Perhaps it had something to do with ‘so they can better see your beauty my dear’. But surely she was referring to someone else. “Apologies for the delay in response, My Lord—Mister Brantley. I was lost in thought but a mere moment.” She knew better than to argue so she simply replied and curtsied once more with a soft smile, “Thank you very much for your kind words, Mister Brantley. I can assure you they do not fall on deaf ears and are truly appreciated. She felt him grasp her hand firm yet with a kind of soft, gentle strength as he lead her to the dance floor she had withdrawn from only moments ago. “I must ask who took part in teaching you to dance, I must congratulate both you for being a great student and them for being an exceptional teacher. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing you dance just now and noticed little to no fault. I doubt you would fail now, but if you think you cannot finish the dance or suddenly you become afraid you won’t do the dance right, tell me and I’ll make sure you have no need to be afraid.” “My Lord, your meticulous words flatter and honor both me and my family as it was my elder brother who taught me to dance. My mother preferred a tutor but my eldest brother insisted saying it was what my father would’ve wanted. So, he taught me to the best of his ability and then went on to learn some new things himself as to better teach me.”

As they started dancing Bainbridge noted how well she danced. Since he was close he was able to observe it better. He smiled with pride looking at her managing to do everything herself. Lady Willoughby I wonder how you manage to dance … I mean which senses do you use and how do you use them in order to navigate on the dance floor? Your elder brother must’ve known what he was doing and where to do research in order to help you understand how to dance with the senses you can still use." He remebered the promise he made to her just a moment ago, so he felt he had to apologize for breaking it. “Oh I forgot I promised I wouldn’t praise you again if it brought you discomfort. I apologize, and I promise to change the subject of the conversation. What do you think of the piece being played? Are you fond of music?”

I trust my guide to do just that, guide me about the floor and not into others lest I be an embarrassment.” “Oh I forgot I promised I wouldn’t praise you again if it brought you discomfort. I apologize, and I promise to change the subject of the conversation. What do you think of the piece being played? Are you fond of music?” Bridget couldn’t help but giggle a little, “No need for apologies, My Lord, it is simply in your nature. One should not apologize for that any more than a horse should apologize for its grace and speed or a bird for flight.” Bridget smile’s spread a little more warmly across her face as he brought up music. “I am indeed! I am quite fond of the violin and pianoforte, as for the music being played it is truly quite lovely though I believe a violin played a wrong note just now.” Bridget’s smile faltered, hearing the words she just uttered, “My Lord, I must beg your pardon as I did not mean to boast and shall refrain from doing so in the future.”

As soon as she said that she relied on him to navigate the dance, and that she uses touch to aid her through touch, he subtly started holding her and her hands for longer periods of time so he might guide her better. “Have no fear Bridget, I will guide you to the best of my abillity.”
"Of course I must apologize for it. It’s well in my control to be able to stop myself from saying certain things, and it’sexpected of me to try harder when asked not to say those things. As Bridget seemed to like the question he posed her, which was evident in her smile, he also replied with a smilealthough she may never see it. “Oh please, no need to be this humble Lady Bridget. I am not as musical as you are, I only know how to play the pianoforte very ill if I do say so myself. If you have such advanced violin skills as to recognize a stray not in a full orchestra with the chatter of people and the clacking of shoes on the dance floor … Well in that case I would consider it a sin to not grace us with your talents. Do you sing as well?”

Bainbridge subtly started holding her and her hands for longer periods of time so he might guide her better. Bridget giggled softly more quietly spoke “My Lord, hold me for too long and perhaps the ton might may mistake your intentions with me to be more than mere formality. Of course, I know you too well to know you might take my little jest all too seriously. Fret not, I truly appreciate your continued willingness to accommodate me, it means exceedingly more to me knowing that the gesture comes from you rather than perhaps another man I haven’t met for at least I know you are sincere.” “Of course I must apologize for it. It’s well in my control to be able to stop myself from saying certain things, and it’s expected of me to try harder when asked not to say those things.” Bridget pondered for a moment, “Perhaps may be within your control, My Lord, but if I may, you are a kind man. I shall be truly saddened to hear of it indeed should you change yourself for any reason." “Oh please, no need to be this humble Lady Bridget. As for the answer to your question, yes, I do but only for the twins, my younger siblings, when I put them to bed each night."

Bainbridge chuckled. “Not to worry, I might be holding you tighter, but I’m far from suggestive. I wouldn’t want to help you by being a better tactile hint to navigate the dance by also ruining your name and reputation by being too close to you for people not to assume the worst of gossip. I understand you were joking, but since you can’t see yourself I didn’t want you to believe that might be the case.”
“Perhaps may be within your control, My Lord, but if I may, you are a kind man. I shall be truly saddened to hear of it indeed should you change yourself for any reason.” This sentence unnerved Bainbridge a little bit. Why would he change? Was there call for it? He decided to ask her. "Why do you say that? Do you expect something coming my way, some hardship or person you believe would change me? If not then I assure you, this is the way I’ve been my whole life and I don’t believe I will change … not if I can help it…
“Forgive me, My Lord, I did not mean to infer my meager hobby superior to that of an orchestra whom the Queen approved for this extraordinary event, I should not have spoken.” “It is true that the Queen herself approved this orchestra for this ball, but I do not see how that makes every single player in the orchestra immune to mistakes. I also do not understand how you think it is your fault should you notice somebody make a mistake, no matter how great they were in their past … If anything it’s proof that everybody does make mistakes and nobody is any more or less superior or inferior for making a mistake. It is a shame I probably will not hear you sing anytime soon, but you mentioned you also play the piano … Tell me, do you have any favorite dities you play? Personally I like irish melodies.”

She could indeed feel just how tightly he was holding her but hearing him say it aloud, not dismissing it as a mistake but intentional though it was far from suggestive it still made her start to feel a little hot, “My Lord…are you thirsty? I feel a sudden warmth, shall we indulge in some lemonade?” “Why do you say that? Do you expect something coming my way, some hardship or person you believe would change me? If not then I assure you, this is the way I’ve been my whole life and I don’t believe I will change … not if I can help it…” Bridget shook her head, "I must ask your forgiveness, once more My Lord. I meant nothing by it. Simply that if you wish to compliment anyone much less me, don’t allow me to change you out of concern for my comfort, my brother believes I should take compliments as they come. Perhaps I will, the day I finally deserve them I suppose. “It is true that the Queen herself approved this orchestra for this ball, but I do not see how that makes every single player in the orchestra immune to mistakes. I do play pianoforte as well, yes, as for my favorite melodies, I can only play that which I can hear. I am quite fond of Mr. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise, as well as Chopin’s Nocturne in E flat major. However I cannot claim a favorite, they are all unique in their own way and each just as beautiful as the last.”

After saying he was holding her tighter Bainbridge noticed her face reddening with the influx of blood rushing to her cheeks. This made him nervous, and he hoped she was only embarrased because if this touch was leading to some feelings of … No … It’s just that she’s embarrased. Of course she would be considering I’m holding her too tightly and she is too humble to say anything. Just like my mother she wouldn’t dare to say anything in order to embarras me. I should indulge her and stop doing it so tightly. He knew that love wasn’t so easily obtained from a person, but he didn’t want to take any chances because as soon as he’s aware of affection coming his way he gets tongue tied and instead of speaking rationally his words all come out twisten in poetic lines. He softens his hold on her just before she suggests to get a drink. “Oh of course, I’m a bit hot myself. The song isn’t that long, it should finish right about now.” He calculated right becuause a minute later the song wrapped up and as it did, he softly took her hand and escorted her towards the table with drinks and ordered two lemonades. When they reached the table he decided to comment on her opinion about music. “I enjoy Beethoven and Mozart as well, but I much preffer Nocturne to anything. One of my many favorite composers is Du Puy, have you heard of him?”

{ 4 months ago / Hatcherman estate }
⎯⎯ ୨୧ ⎯⎯

”Spec, hi prett- Come here,“ leaning over a fence that, forgive her, wasn’t located anywhere near her home but the Hatcherman’s estate, Margaret was trying to grab the attention of a horse that, forgive her once again, wasn’t hers. ”What are you doing here- Did that silly boy forget you have your stall?“ If you’re even a little bit informed about Hastingston and Hatcherman family, especially Margaret and Augustus, this scene wouldn’t be anything to worry about. But if you’re not, let me share a thing or two about their friendship - if Margo had to pick one place she’d spend most of her times at, not including her own garden, Hatcherma’s estate would be it. To be more precise - wherever their animals are. Sometimes she would stop by to say hi to her old friend and sometimes she would just use that as an excuse to try to become the favorite person of his pets and you should trust me when I tell you that she’s on a good path to achieve that goal. And those aren’t really friendship facts but it’s all you need to know for now.

”There we go… Hi,“ reaching out her arm to pet the horse Margo lost balance, her leg slipping off the fence making her rip her dress. Another not that strange thing to witness when it comes to this girl. Not to say Margaret is clumsy or far from acting like a lady, when she needs to she does a perfect job, it’s just that she sometimes doesn’t care - like now. Who is there to judge what she does? What she looks like? Why on earth would she even care about that? She surely isn’t here to please anyone. ”Margaret?” Hearing a voice from behind her startled her, considering it was past midnight and no you can’t ask why she was there so late, even if she immediately recognized the voice Margo turned towards her friend, hiding the fact she ripped her dress.

”Oh, I…“ A forced smile appeared on her lips, one you’d see only if she was embarrassed or found herself in a situation that wasn’t so pretty… Yeah, yeah I know I said Margo doesn’t care but sometimes things that she doesn’t expect happen and for a brief second she gets confused. If she thought Augie would find her trying to steal his horse (just something Archie would think she’d do because you never know when it comes to her and animals… but don’t you worry, she would never), Margo wouldn’t be here right now. That’s why she quickly after let out a loud sigh, letting the ripped piece of her dress fall. ”You know… For an estate this magnificent you would believe they have an even better fence but I believe you should take a look at it from time to time and make sure no nails are sticking out because pretty, young ladies could easily ruin their dresses and… You know what all of our lovely neighbors think about that.“

@Madilnel idk just something Augie would have to deal with from time to time

One of my many favorite composers is Du Puy, have you heard of him?” Bridget nodded, “I have, My Lord. Since I was a child and discovered my love for music, I yearned to listen to everything, everyone. Vivaldi, Chopin, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, Paganini as well of course, a brilliant violinist, that man. I must ask you, while on the subject, not to inquire as to my favorite of the two. I love both instruments dearly and could never choose between them. The strings of a violin create this…this brilliant, bright, vibrant, warm and mellow tone that can be both gentle yet strong almost like a song being sung at an opera. While the piano, the piano is grand, it’s soothing yet with the right chords it can also be haunting. I know that is the case with all instruments, the different chords, I mean, but there’s just something about them both, I truly cannot fathom choosing to play anything else, for myself. But of course, that does not diminish the beauty of the others.” She added sheepishly, she liked what she liked, but did not like others thinking she didn’t like their hobby or was putting their choice of instrument down.

GERALDINE PERSONAL USE Italic

January 15th 1808
I am still thinking of the flower I killed with my love, I tell my cousin about that flower and she tells me, ‘flowers cannot feel pain’ then I ask her, ‘but I can. What about my own pain? What about my own sorrow?’ she was silent, and I kept asking her because I wanted a response, I asked her till she got tired of me and said, ‘Seize the talking, I am tired,’

October 5th 1807
My mother is perhaps the most complex person I have come to known
She bears her flaws with grace, as noble ladies oft hide them, yet in my youth, my mother’s touch remain a soothing balm
She, the duchess, tends to my unruly locks, a tender gesture, out of the ordinary for women of her rank,
In my youth, she bathed me in her warmth, whispered secres, and a bond of friendship was formed in the quiet out of home. She rarely ever called me Belle, but she oft called me Rose or Passion.

I am older now, taller, wiser, and the contours of my mother’s love have shifted. A transformation that left me shocked. She loved me- yes, her love is clear but she does not like me, that much is clear. My mother taught me about love without like, it is very possible she shows. I’ve longed to ask her when, oh when, did her gaze shift from jewel to fractured glass. Was it when i declared to her, ‘i shall never wed,’ or when her own imperfections surfaced and i gazed at them, not looking away, not being scared to look- seeing her vulnerability?

My mother, the seeker of perfection, herself adorned with intricate flaws, so intricate and fine. She loved the idea of perfection, yet she was the most imperfect lady to grace the earth. She knows it too, I think, but she pretend she does not.

January 2nd 1808

When I was young I thought Josephine was a god- i loved her that much. But she was not even an angel, she was more of a victim, the perfect victim and I was neither of the three- not agod, an angel nor a victim. I was more of a demon or the antagonist in a story, I think my mother knew it, and I think Josephine knew it too- what was why our love for each other was different. Kat will see it soon when she grows up, after all ladies are not as naive as they pretend to be, men I often find to be more naive and easy to fool.

January 9th 1808

I don’t trust people- I don’t even trust myself. I design and create dresses to forget, yes I often try to forget myself as well. I like myself, I like the way I am, I like it very much but I do not love it. I am a stranger to myself most of the time. On Mondays , I look in the mirror and I do not see Belle and on Tuesdays, Belle is all I see.

January 9th 1808

My father bought me a dress- a dress I had designed myself and he had paid to be made when I was sick. I was better the next day- healthier and I wore the dress, twirling around, I have never felt lovelier. That day I truly knew why I was named Belle Rose, with the heart I have that was filled with thorns, I still found a way to be lovely like a Rose.

—-------------------------------
January 11th 1808
These days I can rarely sleep. I have trouble sleeping, sleeping feels so unsettling, so foreign to me so I drink till I tire and then I write till i tire. I do not cry- no, crying is an emotion foreign to me. No, that is a lie- crying was no stranger to me, it was a friend I had cut off long ago, a friend that always exists in the back of my mind but I refuse to see again. At least physically, I cry everytime in my mind.

I think I would die if I ever cried visibly.

January 13th 1808

Today I taught Kat how to braid her hair, I have never smiled this much in a long time.

—-------------

May 2nd 1807

I was thinking-yes I do think a lot but I was thinking of my family. Of my relationship with the second born in the house- with my brother Thomas and with the other of my kin. I was young- about seven if I remember correctly and my brother Thomas had me in his arms, we were talking a walk in the gardens and I was begging for him to let me down but he refused-an amused expression on his face. He threw me up in the air and caught me quickly so I would not fall, he would do it repeatedly and I would yell to be let down. The eldest, Louis had scolded him for that- telling him to drop me as he got a bouquet of flowers and gave it to my sister Josephine, Louis had told Thomas that he would hurt me and Thomas had scoffed. ‘Belle is also my younger sister,’ he had argued, ‘I shall never hurt her, you are not the only one who is her older brother. Elder Louis,’ Thomas said as he put me up in the air- not throwing me like I was ball but just holding me up and facing me with his eye color that was often considered weird to people and then laughed as he nuzzled himself into me as I kicked him. No matter what he did- i noticed that truly, Thomas had never hurt me- when I was with Thomas I had never gotten a scratch on my face nor hands nor legs even if he played like a brute. i had gotten injured when I was with Louis and Josephine but never with Thomas and I often wondered how? How was that possible?

“Lady Beckham, not to worry, I’m not going to ask you for a favorite. Personally, it’s sometimes hard for me to pick favorites as well.” What he meant was that he had a lot of friends but he couldn’t pick one to call a best friend. Multiple of his friends would be best in his eyes in their own ways, which makes it exeedingly hard to choose. “What I’ve always wondered, however, is how yu managed to play instruments withouth the ability to see what keys you’re pressing or which strings you’re grazing with your bow. I only know how to play the piano so I’ll ask only about it as I won’t understand half of the things you say about playing the violin. If you’re playing a song where you jump from one side of the piano to the next rapidly, or if you have to move from one side of the keyboard to the middle, how do you know if you’ll hit the right chord or the right note?”

She gently brushed her hair behind her ear, “Might I only say that I have been playing both instruments for…quite some time, My Lord. I suppose I just simply know where to stop. Hearing the harmonic scales countless times might have had something to do with it, perhaps.” Bridget’s cheeks flushed once again. Of course, there was more to it than that but she didn’t like to express further as it may come off as excessive pridefulness.

Dance 2: Harrison Michelangelo Davis

:musical_note: Dreams - Kep1er :musical_note:

As Priti listened to Lord Davis speak and felt his touch on her hand, she felt herself becoming more and more entranced by him. She wished that she could stay in this moment with him forever. “Then I shall look forward to the moment when you properly charm me for I am already under your spell, my lord.” She mused, gazing into his eyes. Was she being foolish? Potentially. But she was exploring new territory, literally, and she felt she had earned the right to be foolish in her actions for a while.

She nodded with a smile when he asked her if she truly had this much confidence in him. “And what if I do?” She challenged as they began dancing with each other. She was teasing, seeing what reaction she could get from him. He asked her if butterflies liked looking at the stars but before she could answer, he rephrased his question. This time he directly addressed her, calling her his lady. “I do enjoy gazing up at the stars from time to time, yes. I used to do it a lot when I was younger.” She answered, though the memory of watching the stars was tainted by the fact that she had only started doing so to feel closer to her mother when she started wishing she had her guidance. “And you, Lord Davis? Do you enjoy gazing at the stars?”

Enchanted

Harrison flashed all his straight teeth at her, and at her words. Ms.Mehta was quite cute- she was bashful in a way that enchanted him and did not turn him away. she did not seem so hidden and at the same time she did- which made Harrison drawn to her. He wanted to learn more about her, wanted to truly see her. “No, you are wrong my lady. For it is I who is enchanted by you,” He whispered to her, rubbing her soft hands gently as he looked into her eyes. “Truly, you are quite enchanting, I do not think the English language has the word for what I am looking for when describing you nor the italian- or perhaps they both do but as for now I am lost with words so i cannot quite think, but do not think of my words as jest or flattery- they are much more than that”

“Then i am delighted to be a man you hold in such high regard,” Harrison whispered, “Where do you live? Where else can I see you outside of the balls?” Harrison asked the mysterious lady, as they danced, their steps perfectly in sync and laughter following them. Their laughters, giggles, and amused looks will have one wondering what was so amusing in their dance, they will not know of the passion of admiration- yes, though Harrison did not know Priti for long, he admired her- after the time he had saved her and now, she was as beautiful as ever, and Harrison shall enchant her- he cannot allow her to like him just like this- for what has he done truly? No, she most him when he truly puts her under a spell. "I do enjoy gazing at the stars as well, but I did not do it from a really young age like you- it seems that you have had much more of a joyful childhood than me. At that age I was busy with sports and running, when I could be admiring the stars, what is your favorite constellation if you have one?

“Mr. Cuthberg, your candidness is both surprising and refreshing. I admire your sincerity in revealing your intentions.” this was the first time she actually gave him a genuine smile, putting her fan down no longer wishing to hide behind it. She had now understood why he had been talking to her, he was not yet committed to any lady as she had assumed. He was still just trying to find a match. Now she knew, she was a bit more interested in entertaining the conversation, still with some hesitation as he did seem to enjoy the company and flirtation with many ladies, but at least there was more understanding now.
“I believe that art, like any form of expression, can reveal much about a person’s character. As for your proposal to share your favorite art places and the portrait you mentioned, I find it a most delightful idea. I do have a keen interest in art, particularly the works of talents such as Thomas Gainsborough. It would be my pleasure to explore these art treasures with you, a fellow art lover.” she was too scared to make direct eye contact with him as she said that. “As to what captivates me most in paintings and sculptures, that are the emotions they evoke and the stories they tell. Beauty is certainly important, but it is the deeper layers of art that truly resonate with me.” she explained her stance to art. Mervinia was quite an opinionated and knowledgeable person, in the form of a graceful and elegant regency lady.

{ before 4th dance / with Augustus }
⎯⎯ ୨୧ ⎯⎯

As Margaret listened to Augustus’s charming and slightly self-deprecating words, a smile graced her lips. His playful and endearing honesty was like a gentle breeze in the midst of the grand ball’s elegance. She admired his ability to blend humor with sincerity, making her feel at ease in his presence. In this moment, a gentle cascade of emotions enveloped Margo, like a warm spring breeze sweeping through a garden. His words, sprinkled with a touch of gentle humor, felt like a tender caress to her heart, making her feel cherished and appreciated. ”Augustus, I must admit, your presence does much to embolden my spirit as well. I believe that we both share the magic of making even the grandest of affairs feel as simple as a garden stroll.“ She offered him a warm smile her attention now fully directed at the young man, not a common thing someone might witness when it comes to Margo.

“Your wish, Augustus, is a delightful vision. It’s as though you’ve painted a vivid picture in my mind.” A light laugh left her lips, the image she had in her mind only becoming more beautiful with each of his words. "As for my own midnight wish, Margo began, her voice soft and her eyes meeting his with a touch of longing. “I would dream of a world where all the stars in the sky could be plucked like diamonds, each one carrying the whispered wishes of those who gaze upon them. And with a gentle breath, I’d send them sailing, to make dreams come true for all. It’s the whimsical dreams that seem to hold the most magic, don’t you think?” Her words which seemed innocent carried an underlying sentiment that only a few observers might discern.

While his words hinted at his occasional discomfort in starting a conversation or keeping it going, she found his bashful demeanor endearing. ”Your candor is truly refreshing. It’s a gift not many possess. But I assure you, your words have their own graceful dance, and your company is as light and pleasant as one could wish for.“ More than anything Margo wanted those close to her to feel comfortable around her, to have freedom to talk about anything and everything. To show her who they really are and what they feel. ”On the topic of dancing… If you allow me to ask - was there a lady you particularly found good at dancing?" But gossip was another thing she could lose herself in.

When Mervinia complimented Darius about his honesty in his last statement, he felt what he could only imagine the girls he usually compliments feel. Lowering the fan in her hand which revealed a smile, Darius thought how that smile was the best one he’d seed that night, and possibly his whole life. It might’ve been the way she looked and how her face formed a very beautiful and warm smile, but it might’ve been that he had to work harder than to just give out a flirtatious and flattering remark and really earn the smile which made it all the sweeter. Nevertheless the reason for it’s beauty, but it was so sweet to him that it also became contageous and he smiled back. “Thank you.” It was a simple phrase that’s sometimes said too much, but now he meant it more than ever.
Withouth giving her much to respond to, she continued talking about art, something he previously asked her about. He let her talk, and he listened to her, but when she said a certain sentence that’s all he was fixated on. He stopped listening to her since and instead trying to find the right words.
"As to what captivates me most in paintings and sculptures, that are the emotions they evoke"
“Did you say emotions? I believe I’ve met you at the perfect time to introduce you to something. I’m sure you’re aware that in France the revolution oficially ended … Well so did the artistical movement associated with the revolution … Nothing has yet replaced the artistic period, but there is a literary movement slowly rising from the rubble of the revolution and I believe it will slowly morph into both an artistic and a literary movement. Why I’m telling this to you now is because from the very few poems and books written within this brand new movement there is a theme forming and it’s centering around 3 things … Firstly it’s glorifying the past, like the medieval and the gothic era. Secondly, it’s very focused on individualizm. Thirdly, and most important one, is it’s emphasis on emotion. When it comes to art, I believe the upcoming years will bring paintings that will resonate to you like no other have done before.” Telling her this made her very happy. Ever since she smiled at him, he realized he’d love to see that smile again and telling her this would maybe make it happen. His words were true and honest, he didn’t say something he didn’t believe true just to get a smile out of her … Oh but was he excited to tell her this knowing it would make her happy and mean a lot to her. Just imagine how happy he will be when in a few years the movement will become so much bigger and it would last for years to come.

Augustus blushed at Margo’s kind words and couldn’t help but feel a delightful giddiness bubbling within him. Her compliment was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, warming his heart.

He found himself grinning like a schoolboy and replied with a twinkle in his eye, “I feel as if I’ve stumbled upon a hidden treasure, and my heart is the richer for it.” Their exchange was filled with a sense of shared admiration, and he cherished the connection they were building amidst the grandeur of the ballroom.

Augustus couldn’t help but reflect on the wonderful circumstances that had brought him and Margo together. it was thanks to the influence of his oldest sister and Margo’s own sister that their paths had crossed, and he found it rather fascinating. He couldn’t help but feel that their connection was something special, a testament to the beauty of fate and the magic of chance encounters at grand balls like this one.

Augustus had a fondness for the times when Margo would visit their family estate. Her presence had a way of infusing the surroundings with a certain radiance and charm that he found captivating.

In his mind, he thought, Whenever Margo graces our estate with her presence, it’s as if the gardens bloom a little brighter, the air feels a touch fresher, and even the animals seem to be in higher spirits. Her visits have a way of turning our home into a place of warmth and joy.

Augustus wasn’t the only one in his family who held Margo in high regard. His youngest sister had taken quite a liking to her, finding her not just delightful but pretty as well. It was heartwarming to see the bond that had developed between Margo and his family, particularly his youngest sibling. The way she calls Margo ‘pretty’ with such innocent admiration is a testament to the charm that Margo carries with her.

“You know, my youngest sister’s fondness for you has led to some amusing proclamations. The other day, she told me that you’re ‘the lady who makes even the flowers smile.’ I must admit, the flowers’ opinions on the matter remain undisclosed, but I have it on good authority that you bring a certain radiance to our estate, both in bloom and in charm.”

He found her imagination enchanting and her dreams filled with magic. With a warm smile, he responded, “your vision of a world where stars can be plucked like diamonds to make dreams come true is nothing short of enchanting. It’s those whimsical dreams, the ones that dance on the edges of reality, that truly hold the most magic.”

With a slightly bashful smile, he replied, “Ah, my lady, I must admit that I’ve had the privilege of engaging in wonderful conversations and dances with a number of delightful ladies this evening. Each one has brought their own unique charm and grace to the dance floor. It’s hard to single out just one, for they’ve all added their special touch to the magic of the night.”

He hoped that his response struck the right balance, showing respect for the other women while also hinting at the shared enjoyment he had experienced throughout the evening.
