Harrison put a hand on his chest as an act of a mock offense “You wound me! You cruel woman, have you thought me incapable of keeping a simple promise? Truly, you do not know me and here I was imagining that we were some-what friends, truthfully I am wounded. I am not a man of dishonor, at least when it comes to promises,” He told her his lips curling into a small smile. as he dropped the hand from his chest and gazed at her as he tucked the strand of her hair back seeing her face that she was desperately trying to hard redden which made him chuckle.
“I thought you were supposed to be a diamond not a tomato,” He teased, noting the redden of her face. she really looked like a tomato or like reddish grapes-two of his favorite foods which made him smile even more. He knew that she would wonder why he was smiling even more, especially since his eyes glistened with amusement a that fact. He brought out the locket, giving it to her and Harrison gave a small smile as he saw the way her eyes glistened. It was a smile different from the other smiles he had giving her, it was a small homely smile. One that was also hopefully and appreciated it- he appreciated that Lady Adeline was happy with the gift, and he was happy of the way she stared at it. He looked down at her and at the locket his eyes warm with friendly affection.
“It is beautiful, Lord Davis… when did you have time to do this?”
“I did it about three years ago, after a horse riding section with Atlas… I took a break of relaxation and you were there and I just well… sketched.” He narrated to her as she turned around and he put the locket on her neck. His fingers brushing softly and slightly against her bare skin- she was soft, really soft he noted and her skin felt warm. He removed his hand from her neck, after he had put the locket with a hurry feeling a strange sensation of a burn. Right, wrong hand- he thought as he put his left hand inside his pocket putting on a glove and bringing it out. How had he forgotten to wear a glove there?
He placed his left hand back inside his pocket- hoping that the lady had not noticed a thing. He adjusted the tie on his chest, gazing around as if nothing happened before going in front of her, and smiled. “I am indeed looking to marry this season. I’m an earl and as mother deareast says I need a heir and I also need, love” He said a finger on his lips as he said the last part. Aaah love what a beautiful concept, the most beautiful concept Harrison would have to say- the fact that someone’s tenderness, someone’s affection can make you drunk on it always intrigued Harrison. “And I can’t come to you? Is it a sin to visit a friend?” He asked his eyes twinkling, as he leaned against the wall, his gloved hand on a table as he smirked. “Atlas would make a good brother in law, no? And I’ve been told the sisters of your friend make the best lovers,” He teased, walking up to to hair, leaning down to face her as his smirk grew wider and more foxy. “I want to test that out? Don’t you?” Their faces were close to each other, almost too close and Harrison pulled away, the smile not leaving his face as he took a couple of steps back, to create a comfortable distance between them.
“It will be a good love story, would it not? The lady and the friendly hero who stole her heart- could you truly name a better love story than that?”
He was being playful, like Harrison was often was instead of simply telling her that indeed he had not come as simply a friend, he had come for other reasons that were quite obvious and he had come because he promised her that he would and Harrison was a man of promise. He found it dishonorable not to keep your promise, it was among the worst sins a human could commit. He rested his hand on the table, staring at her, “How was your day last night and this morning?” He asked, his tone not as flirty as once was- it was a different vibe to it, one more soothing, more friendlier and comforting. “I hope it went well, you deserve a lot of rest Adeline,” He said this time he did not use ‘lady’ in reference to her but simply Adeline, because she was a lady true and true but she was also Adeline. The dear Adeline, the lady he had known since he was child due to family connections and Harrison cared for her, he truly did. Though, most of their conversations ended up with him teasing her till she reddens and her threatening to hit him, but that was just the natural order of Adeline and him. Though she may not consider him a friend, he considered her one of his dearest friends or at least someone he truly cared for. He would not have drawn her if that was not the case, after all, Harrison only drew those who were dear to him.
