“You put words in my mouth that did not escape them, Lady, when had I referred to use as an object and is this whole calling thing not an experiment?” Harrison asked raising a brow , "Courting is every bit of an experiment on whether or not one can see themselves with the other in matrimony is it not it? " It was a real question, not one to tease her, so Harrison did not have his usual Harrison smile on as he raised a brow, his eyebrows scrunched.
“And joke of the town?” Harrison asked amused, "I am quite hurt, your personality truly does match your behavior."Harrison jokingly accused a hand clutching his chest as if in pain, pretending to lose his balance. “Everyone calls you a nice lady but it seems only I know the truth because you are the cruelest lady I have come across. Truly I never knew a lady could be so cruel, and besides, what is love if not you and your lover against the world?” Harrison asked coming close to her as he grinned, “If you became the joke of the town then we shall both becomes jokes of the town, and I truly think that is beautiful. I’ve always enjoyed jokes,” Harrison said knowing that Adeline shall not be as amused as him with his words. it was the nature of their relationship though Harrison did wish she would smile more often with him or that they could have a conversation without her getting mad at him just once-though, that would mean dropping teasing her and Harrison had no wish to do that. It had become a habit for him in addition, to see Adeline and quickly begin to tease her- for some reason, she always seemed to look even more beautiful and lovely when she was annoyed and angry at him or perhaps he had run mad like he had always been curious about. Truthfully if he admitted to being mad, he was quite sure his mother will agree with him- but Harrison was not mad. No, no or at least he does not think he’s mad yet but though considering his history and especially that one specific part of it, would one who was not used to Harrison’s antics not consider that unusual? Also he was an artist and were not all artist mad?
It is confirmed then, to some degree Harrison is mad because no normal person truly ponders on their sanity do they? And he was an artist and a lover of arts, all artist where prune to madness to certain degree. it was just the nature of being an artist, to create art, one most have an imagination that extends beyond what others believe to be human capabilities, the ability to that is madness and Harrison was mad- but he was also mad for many different things. He had not fully lost his senses, no, his mother would not allow him out in society if that was so.
Harrison leaned in, his voice a low murmur that seemed to dance with shadows in the room. “Let the rest of the suitors weave their tales and spin their webs of flattery. The mind, my dear Lady Delaney, was sculpted for contemplation, and I, for one, always find solace in my thoughts.” He had put emphasis on the Delaney part as she had asked to be called that Delaney, and he gazed at her with his dark brown eyes as he continued in his madness, as the corner of his lips quirked . “After all, none of their charm could ever hope to ascend the heights of mine” he said in his usual cocky and arrogant tone. But still was it not the truth and not vanity? After all except for title, there was no much a lot of men could compete with him for. He is among the tallest of the tallest in the ton, towering over millions of people and he always had comments made about his height, he was wealthy, and was filled with tons of charisma. A romantic dramatic lover is what he was, a lover who you can ensure a life filled with adventure and excitement. With Harrison could you truly claim such a concept as boredom? Harrison does not even think he had ever experienced such a concept, it was a concept that a him, because he was often entertained by himself. His mind and behaviors were genuinely always entertaining.
The smirk on his face deepened, casting an intricate play of shadows upon his countenance. “I already pity them,” He says, “Soon, they shall discover the futility of their endeavors. They are but guests in a waltz where I lead, and my steps are composed of charm woven into the very fabric of my being. and besides I know you in a lot of ways. I already have the upper hand don’t I? But you are a cruel lady,” He says with a pout, “Lady Delaney,” He rang each syllable of her last name, pouncing it softly and with a slow pace, as if, if he said Lady Delaney faster then he would have gotten struck by thunder. “And thus is knowing you truly an upper hand?” He teased but really was it? After all, the way they reacted with each other was as a result of knowing each other. Though Harrison was sure there were some things he actually did not know of lady delaney and there were a lot of things he did not know of her, they still were better acquainted with each other than most people of the ton and that was why she had no care in the world when she was so cruel to him. She already knows what type of behavior to expect and Harrison did too, well till now. When she had moved closer to him after answering her question.
“Yes indeed, it is a blessing to be chosen by the queen.” He agreed giving her a confused look as she inched closer to him, she had put a hand on his neck pulling him closer to her and Harrison did not know when their conversation had turned to something like this but he was definitely enjoying this turn of events. He could not help but to feel hot in the face though with how close they were, it reminded him of the time they had kissed. And the tone of her voice- it was so appealing, as she whispered into his ears and then pulled away. “It was indeed a challenge as all I could think of was you and I together in a specific situation and it seems you are thinking to as you ask such crude questions that goes beyond your character,” Harrison teased pulling away from her. “What shall your other suitors think when they hear this is how you talk to me? You are already thinking of me in such a manner, my lady I am grateful but we should slow down till the wedding no? Lady Delaney”
