If it wasn’t a necessity to have an heir to continue the family line, he likely wouldn’t even be looking to remarry. 
Love isn’t his goal. It’s marriage. Love would be an unexpected bonus.
He’ll move on eventually I imagine. Just admitting to himself that he could be in love with someone else may not happen until he almost loses the person he loves, again.
