I never thought that I would be sitting in a limo but I was. It was a bit surreal, especially since I didn’t feel “classy” enough. As soon as I got into the main building and checked in, someone took my bags and told me to get into a golf cart that was outside.
“eh, okay.”
I said while shrugging. I was pretty surprised that my mom let me come on this trip but when I thought about it more it was probably because she wanted time to herself. Kind of like why I went on that cruise last year. The golf cart lead me to my dorm and when I walked through the door, I saw an extra bed and some clothes in another closet
“Darnit I have another roommate.” I said while facepalming myself. My last roommate was nice but I wondered how it was going to be this time. I didn’t change my clothes because I didn’t have the energy to so I just went to the pool deck to listen to the counselors speech.
Erin turned around after snickering at what someone said behind her. She spotted a girl listening to earphones by herself, isolated from everyone. Erin decided to sit by her and nudge her shoulder.
Cora stepped out of the limo, looking around. “This was just what I needed.” She sighed and looked over to her brother. She nodded,”Yeah, Now this should change here.” She smiled. She listened before looking to where that was at. “Okay, see ya then Big brother.” She giggled before making it up to her room. She set her bags down and fell back onto her bed. Thank god it was comfortable, not that it would help with her sleeping much. She quickly unpacked most of her things before she headed down to sign in because she forgot to before. She then headed to the pool and listened to the counselors. She leaned on the wall till it was over. None of them seemed terrible which she was glad about. She then saw Dawson and gave a small wave at him with a smile. She would’ve walked up to him but he was talking to people. She sat down near the pool with a book in her hands.
I pulled out an ear bud, turning to look at the girl nudging me. “Trying to pretend I’m not here.” I muttered to her, sitting up. “Apparently there’s going to be a party…” I groaned. @Kbail
I nodded my head. Now I knew why the girl was isolated and by herself. I thought everyone would be preppy and excited.
“Yeah, I know how that feels.” I said while smiling.
“Apparently there’s going to be a party…”
“Yay Partay.” I said while putting my hands in the air. I was being sarcastic, but I was also excited. I noticed that she still had a serious expression.
“Come on, parties are where all the mischief happens.” I said while winking.
“I still don’t do parties. I don’t like loud noises or crowds.” I said. “I’ll probably just hide in the bathroom.” I smiled slightly when she said “partay” like that. @Kbail

“I mean if it’s a gym filled with sweaty bodies I would probably freak out but otherwise I could handle crowds.” I rubbed my chin to show that I was thinking. " You can always push them out of the way." I burst out laughing
“I’ll probably just hide in the bathroom.”
“Not if I can stop it. Trust me I have my ways.” I pointed my finger at her. I really didn’t have my ways but i wanted it to look like that. As I was talking to her, I noticed her style and I really liked it. “I dig your style. Where did you get that bracelet.” I said while lifting up her arm. Yeah, I’m not good with boundaries but frankly I didn’t care.
I smiled and shrugged my shoulder when she said she would go.
“Well it’s up to you. Just know that I don’t like peer pressure so I’m not forcing you to.” She pulled my hand off of her arm even though I was going to let go.
“Okay.” I said while putting my hands up in a defensive way. I sat in silence for a while thinking of what to say.
“I get it.” I said while shrugging. Most of the time I just jumped straight into situations without thinking. “So, anyways why did you come to this camp thingy?” I asked.
I sighed. “My “parents just wanted to get rid of me. Ever heard of the Crosses?” I asked her, now fully turned to look at her. “Well, I’m Jane Cross.” @Kbail
“Yep, my mom wanted to get rid of me also, it is what it is I guess.” I shrugged my shoulders, not wanting to think about it too much. “Anyways, Jane Cross? Cool name. I don’t think I’ve heard of the crosses. The names Erin Chandler. The one and only.” I smiled slightly.
“I’m the…black sheep of the family, I guess you could say. My family owns a string of megachurches and are outwardly homophobic. I’m a Pansexual atheist. You can see the problem…” I muttered. @Kbail
After listening to the speech by the head counselor, Elliot wanted to head to his dorm and sleep till the party. While walking towards the building, he bumped into a girl with dark hair and bright blue eyes. “Sorry-” he turned back to apologize. He could notice that both were having a conversation. “Um… hi…?” he shrugged.
I stopped talking to Erin for a second when a boy bumped into me. He greeted and I said hello bluntly, nodding at him. I surveyed him, noting he was a dark haired male. @Kbail @elixr
“You guys are having a heart-to-heart, huh?” he joked. He wasn’t being serious but it looked like they did. He couldn’t stand there quietly forever, so he decided to talk to them. ‘Sleeping the whole day’ plan’s cancelled. “Care to include me in your convo?”
I was about to answer Jane when a guy walked into our conversation. I was pretty used to that happening so it wasn’t a surprise. He said hi in a sort of awkward way, like he wasn’t sure if he should join the conversation.

“Sure dude, we’re just chilling.” I said while shrugging. I looked him up and down. His clothes were pretty neat.
Does everyone have good style around here? I thought.
