Because in order to better keep the secret he’d first show her what’s in his duffel bag (girl’s underwear, jeans, skirts, a few t-shirts, make-up bag, perfume bottles, assorted jewelry, a curling iron, nail care bag*, box of tampons, a little bottle of hand lotion, and a little stickie note that reads: you are beautiful!) The clothes would be on top, btw.
*Nail care bag: nail clipper, assorted nail polish, nail polish remover, and a nail file.
