Discussion: Cheating in school

is it really cheating then?

I feel like fewer kids would cheat if most teachers genuinely helped. I mean this isn’t to say that all of them don’t try. But there’s a good amount of teachers who really shouldn’t be working in the profession. Most really hate their job and could care less about helping the youth.

Plenty. I hate to make it about race but the amount of subtle racism in my school growing up, despite it being somewhat diverse was horrifying. The teachers didn’t care and when I was in high school there were multiple staff-related scandals…Including one of my teacher’s getting pregnant by another teacher. Who then cheated on her- Yikessssss. It can be worse in certain areas since truthfully most of the illegal scenarios happen in more schools with poverty/minority groups.

It varies, But I still think students cheat a ton vs being more so honest about it. I mean the stress from school in recent years (before the pandemic at-least) legitimately had students dropping out because they weren’t learning as they should have. It makes me sad.

Haha Depends- If the teacher is willingly letting a kid use an answer sheet when their not supposed to…Or giving them good grades purposely for a bribe or something of the sort then Hellooo cheating police!

All in all. As a person who dropped out of highschool- School can be rough. There’s a ton of teachers who shouldn’t be teachers…A lot of scandals. The incredible amount of cases that revolve around bullying, fights, and mistreatment needs to be solved immediately. Which I feel is why the rate of kids dropping out if rising so high. The whole board needs a turn around~ :pensive:

Yèah, I just have some things to dicuss about cheating in school.

So, I don’t encourage cheating, the only times I’ve cheated was when the paper was leaked, and almost the whole class knew the questions. You can’t cheat all the time, if you cheat too often, you’ll get caught eventually. Cheating kills the purpose of a test so you don’t know where’s your stand.

Is it still cheating if the teacher allows certain ways of cheating?

Probably no? Since everyone can do the same thing?

Also, I’ve seen some dumb cheating in exam “hacks” on youtube, which is a really bad impact for kids. At this point, Idc if the hacks are fake or not as long as it doesn’t harm people, but some youtube companies are just ignorant.

What Secretz said, cheating destroys the purpose of an exam. And it often decreases your morale and makes you feel self-guilt afterwards.
