Whatever fits best

Personally I love both, I’ll run just as fast to a book that I’ll know will leave me crying and heartbroken by the end just as much as I would to a book that would leave me happy and rooting for the main character till the end.

I also have this terrible habit of wanting the worse to happen in a story and for characters just to never recover from it when I know good and well they will since the story has a happy ending.

Yeah, totally agree. I do enjoy when some of the main characters do get one while others don’t.

I am honestly more a fan of sad endings, while a happy ending can be very rad especially if the general plot is more lighthearted and positive, often I can’t really relate to all the happiness and life isn’t as positive as in books with a happy ending. Also, stories with a sad ending just make much more of an impression on me, and I love when a book actually keeps me thinking about it days after I’ve finished reading. Sure, that happened a few times with a positive ending, but much more often when the ending is a sad or at least far from perfect ending.

I haven’t

Totally recommend if you’re looking for a humorous dark fantasy thriller that’s quite light to read. It’s a trilogy by Derek Landy.
