character name : Veta the Vixen
child of : Reynard the Fox
gender : Female
pronouns : She/Her
age : A teenager in Fox years
sexual orientation : Apathetic
romantic orientation : Apathetic
best subject : Art
personality : Classy, cunning, and quick-witted, Veta is looking forward to messing with other students in Once Upon a High. She is not overly concerned with rules and convention, usually breaking them for her own amusement. It can be difficult for her to understand why someone would ever conform, assuming that people who follow the rules are just cowards. Even so, she takes her studies seriously and has a real passion for art. Veta does have a softer, more compassionate side, but her wild nature means that she tends to live in the moment and not be concerned with the consequences of her actions.
biography : Veta is proud of her being the daughter of the infamous Reynard, wanting to follow in his footsteps. She thinks that him being called outright a “villain” is far too harsh, and has always thought the “good guy/bad guy” paradigm was kind of dumb. She has a few litter-mates and an uncle who is a badger. Not very used to meeting humans, outside of stealing their chickens or spotting hikers. Nor is she familiar with the forces of magic, but is extremely curious about it.
faceclaim :
birthdate [ optional ] :
All foxes are born in the spring, and Veta was born on one foggy April morning.
Hey. (wink) Very interesting character, lovely. Though there’s not too much about her background here and how she grew up. (thinking) The only thing I’ll point out is the FC, as @/ethereal has stated on multiple occasions that she prefers characters to have human-like/realistic FCs and this one just seems to be a screenshot from the film.
I mentioned that. Apparently she’s more of a creature.
Okay, just remember that @ethereal has to okay it here first and discuss it before she can be RP’d with. (wink)
Of course. She’s the boss. I just already went over it with Zeno.
I can tweak her later.

[ Although Bay has been attending Once Upon a High for over a year now, she still has much to learn-not only about school but about land especially. Even though she has attended a school for all of her life, she was sheltered from the “real world” on land and even from parts of the ocean. She was never allowed far outside of the school and her gullibility was often taken advantage of, she was threatened and scared into staying inside. She’s gullible, believing everything she is told, and is easy to convince and take advantage of. She’s very innocent, lacking knowledge about what the real world is like, and how things work, including manners, superstitions, politics, and classes. However, despite how little she understands, she has a bright and cheerful attitude towards these things, interested in hearing everything about them. Like her mother, she’s always yearned to be on land and do everything humans do-especially sports. Since she didn’t have legs beforehand, she can be a bit clumsy and isn’t a good dancer, however, she loves to use them, especially to run. ]
[ Bay is bold and seemingly not afraid of anything. She never hesitates to ask people questions or introduce herself to someone who looks interesting. She is definitely impulsive and a risk-taker, and loves to try new things. She is determined to get what she wants, and is one to approach anyone, even a complete stranger. She finds it easy to get along with people, even if they don’t like her very much. Bay believes that you can’t have too many friends, and is a great friend except for one thing-she is untrustworthy. She can’t keep a secret, and if told one, there is a high chance she will accidentally blurt it to someone else-even someone she’s never met. She loves to gossip and learn new secrets-it makes her feel special. But, she does feel guilty when people get mad she betrayed their secrets-she has no ill intention, it just…happens. She’s a blabbermouth and is definitely one to spill her own secrets as well-she can’t stop talking and doesn’t usually think before the words come out. Although she’s only been in one official relationship, she considers herself an expert and believes her relationship with Cam to be perfect and superior. She loves being asked for advice, especially romantic advice. Bay is a bit of an airhead and has a hard time staying still and focusing on one thing. She isn’t really the brightest bulb in the box. She also forgets things really easily and is never perfectly on time. ]
[ Bay hates both of her parents for what they did to her, and refuses she has anything in common with either, even acting like she’s above them. However, it is plain to see she shares a lot of her mother’s traits, at least, the traits her mother had when she was younger. Besides the bright red hair, both are bright, curious, and spirited, especially about land. Like her mother, she loves everything new and undiscovered, collecting treasures she finds on the beach or in the ocean and asking land-dwellers questions about them. Bay is curious about everything, especially things she has never seen before. She asks questions-often dumb questions, a lot of them. She’s determined to get what she wants and is naive about the world. She is also a romantic who can fall in love with someone easily, and is extremely loyal to that person as can be. Though Bay might be the type to “accidentally” look at someone else’s test, she would NEVER cheat in a relationship. She’s easily satisfied, even by the little things and is good at finding new purposes for certain items. She has the ability to see the best in everybody and everything and can always find happiness even in the darkest of times. She hates seeing people upset or crying, and although she isn’t the best at cheering people up, she tries her best to. ]

[ Bay could never stay still, and that was before she was actually born. She was always on the move, kicking and hiccuping in her mom’s stomach. She was born red-faced and screaming at the top of her lungs. She was given a name that started with A, of course, to follow tradition. She never stopped kicking and screaming. It wasn’t that she was a “bad” child, however, she was loud and clumsy, breaking precious items just because her curiosity possessed her, making her pick them up and accidentally drop them or break them. She was also incredibly messy, sloppy eater, never cleaning up after herself and not just because they had maids. This was normal for a child…children are messy, carefree, quick-paced. But compared to her quiet and proper older brother, Akari, Bay was problematic and “too much”. No one seemed to like her too much, even her own sibling thought she was a burden. Ariel seemed to regret her, Eric seemed to prefer Akari. Bay didn’t really understand. She couldn’t see anything she’d done wrong. Eric and King Triton suggested Bay spend a year underwater at an all-girls boarding school when she was a few years old. Ariel agreed, thinking this might teach Bay a lesson. ]
[ At first, Bay was excited, she’d never been inside the ocean before. She was granted a mermaid tail, which grew whenever her entire body was submerged in water. However, when she realized none of her family was accompanying her, things quickly became not-so-fun. Though the bright coral, creatures, and plants seemed exciting at first, they eventually came dull as Bay became lonely. The girls were nice enough, but they were mermaids who had lived under the sea for their entire lives. Bay felt left out in a way. The staff at the school were extremely strict and boring-they never let anyone have fun and they never let Bay leave. She only saw her parents and brother once a year, and sometimes they would forget to visit. One year of boarding school eventually turned into Bay’s entire life, as things were now so easy around the castle without her in the way. Though she told them she missed them and wanted to go back, she was not offered a second chance. ]
[ So, the little optimist made the best of her circumstances, doing her best to befriend the girls. Though she basically failed all her classes-unable to find the motivation to succeed in them. She also found them very boring and drawn out-despite being under the sea, everyone had a dry nature, and the entire place was void of color. The brightest thing there besides Bay’s hair was her personality. These girls had been attending the school for their whole lives-so they were used to it. And unfortunately, as she grew up, Bay joined the wrong crowd of people. A group of girls who wore things that made the teachers gasp, disrespected the staff, had conversations during class. The girls who ate during class if they felt like it, questioned the teachers, skipped the classes they hated… This crowd normally wouldn’t seem to fit Bay at all. However, something about this group was they were always the center of attention. They were the ones the teachers scolded-their arguments were always so interesting. They were the other ones the other girls yearned to be, and sometimes… their parents would have to visit the school. Perhaps, if Bay was like them, this would happen to her, too. ]
[ So, Bay wormed her way into the bad girl clique. She doodled on her desk, never turned in her assignments, ditched classes and swam to the marketplace with the other girls. There, they’d laugh and have a good time for once, snatching up the candies and snacks from the stands, trying on clothing drastically different from their tasteless uniforms. She also took on the name ‘Bay’, she didn’t want her name to start with the traditional ‘A’, anymore. Besides, she liked the way it sounded. She gained quite a bit of a reputation. The teachers scorned her-first they hated her because she was dumb and whiny-now they hated her because she was disrespectful and ill-behaved. With them, Bay couldn’t win. But she would win-she’d be successful when her parents burst through the academy doors, dragging their perfect son behind them. When they finally gave her more attention than a simple envelope filled with money on her birthdays. But they never did. She only got more letters, reprimands from the busy king and queen. They would tell her to fix up her act, that she should be old enough to know better. But they never actually came. And there was not much to do for punishment. She was the teacher’s problem now, and Bay was sure they were happy about that. ]
[ A letter addressed to Bay arrived, and the teachers were all over it. If the bane of their existence (or one of the banes of their existence) was sent to another school, that would lift a lot from their shoulders. It was easy to convince Ariel & Eric to allow Bay to go there instead. Because, to put it bluntly, as long as she wasn’t in their castle, they didn’t care much where she was. Besides, OUAH was a lot further away. This would be her first time on land, living as a human, since she was a toddler. Bay decided this would be a fresh start for her. She was tired of acting out and being someone she wasn’t. She wasn’t getting what she wanted out of it. Her parents weren’t going to rescue her, she wouldn’t be accepted back into the family. Even in her squad, she felt like a bit of an outcast, like they were secretly waiting to push her out of the group or stab her in the back. Bay wasn’t meant to be a bully or a malicious troublemaker. During her first year at OUAH, Bay immediately fell in love with a boy named Cameron. He was handsome, funny, a gentleman, everything she could’ve ever dreamed of. And he seemed to feel the same way about her. The two even moved in together-in a secret underwater cove near the school. They’re the ideal couple-glued a the hip and head over heels for each other. Bay was so happy. She told Cameron literally everything-except what she thinks of as her “bad girl days”. She figured it was no biggie, that was all in the past. That’s the one thing Bay doesn’t spill to everyone…it’s not something she’s too proud of. But besides keeping a part of her past self from her boyfriend, Bay’s life is perfect. She learns more about land every day, has made dozens of friends, and every night, she goes to sleep next to the boy she fell in love with a year ago. ]
