Personality : Fern is basically your typical goth. She wears black or vintage clothes, loves poetry and candles and being alone. She’s aloof, preferring to be alone to being with people. Biography : Fern grew up in France with her mother and father, Jenny and Alfred. She grew up surrounded by love, and it shows in her caring nature. Fern had a very typical childhood, aside from the fact her mother had to teach her not to take her choker off. Why shouldn’t she? Well, her head will fall off. [ Kairava is a thoughtful person who often lapses into quiet phases when she gets lost in her mind. She is an ambivert and tends to be more comfortable around quieter people like herself. Her confidence isn’t the strongest, her self-esteem having been dampened by the result of her abilities isolating and ostracizing her. She’s a pescatarian and here culture and religion (Hinduism) is extremely important to her. [ Her mother’s story was infamous while she was growing up, the romantic who married a magical tiger, had one of his children which was a tiger and was forced to cook for him before her brother came to save and rescue her. She killed the tiger she bore, so everyone assumed she had no more children with the shapeshifting tiger. However, that’s not quite the case – Kairava would prove.
Nickname ‘Rava’ or ‘Kai’ while growing up, Kairava found herself surrounded with wealth as her mother was a Brahmin girl, one of the highest castes available. Privilege was not foreign to her, she was one of society’s highest people, she was afforded everything she could have and want.
Due to being a Brahmin she was destined from birth to be pure and after much persuasion from herself she became a female priestess, a new phenomenon in a field dominated by men. As she grew up she learned the expectations of her caste, knowing Sanskrit, learning from the Veda books, staying away from meat and milk and more. From a young age, she was pressured and expectations weighed heavily on her with restrictions and rules.
Kairava, despite being raised very privileged never had a spoiled streak like her younger siblings. While she wasn’t allowed to associate with the lower castes, she often observed or saw them from her position as a priestess-in-training and noticed how fortunate she was. As she grew older she progressed through her training as a priestess, taught by a mentor and studying beside the other training priests. Despite, her high rank and position others would kill for, Kairava was unhappy with her place and rules – she knew her power but she wanted freedom too.
It was when she turned 15 that her heritage began to emerge, she found herself with uncontainable magic, able to do her will with thoughts and incantations. They wer eingrained into her head, she had never picked up a spellbook. The biggest fright was her shapeshifting which came and passed with strong emotions she would find herself as a tiger instead of a normal human. It was stressful, especially with her mother making sure to pay off and hide any show of abnormality. No one could know she still had a child with the tiger she married, Kairava’s biological father.
Kairava eventually became a priestess but her magic presented challenges as she couldn’t control them. Her mother eventually sent her away to study with a mentor to learn how to control her magic. However, not even the mentor – another a Brahmin knew how to deal with Kairava’s abilities. At 16 she returned home but was kept in her house for a whole year since they had no clue what to do before her mother heard about OUH and sent her there.
Kairava is less than excited, knowing this to just be another desperate trick. However, nonetheless she willingly goes – anything better than being trapped in her house for another year. ]
