Could I also suggest that dark and light magic have many spells and curses that are the same, but it’s what you do with them that determines if the spell or curse is dark or light. For instance a spell to dry out a plant, be it on a big scale (like dry out every plant in a 1 mile radius) or just one plant, a person studying light magic would learn to use this spell when you’re either attacked with some poisonus plant, or when there’s some weeds in the garden that need to be removed meanwhile a person studying dark magic would learn to do this (yes they would also learn it’s a spell to protect themselves considering the fact it’s just as likely to get attacked no matter what type of spells you use) so they could immediately destroy an enemy’s source of food and oxygen to make them weaker in a battle.

I think it would actually be more interesting to learn defensive magic for this purpose. A light magic student would learn to nuetralize or put an energy shield while a dark magic student would kill the flowers. Otherwise, they could all just take the same magic class

Personality : Aoife was set to become a sweet young girl and there is a bit of it still somewhere deep inside her heart, but considering the fact that Grainne and Fionn praised their son for being such a good warior (because Diarmuid was a great warrior) a very young Aoife thought she had to be very good at combat. She then put off doing girly things and play-time so she could learn combat well enough for Grainne to praise her as much as Aodghan, but that rarely ever happened. Grainne was even worried that Aoife was turning into a ruthless woman considering the fact she picked combat up by herself while even her brother was introduced to it and didn’t learn it on his own. That’s why Grainne was also a bit cold with Aoife, thinking she was turning into a villainous person. That coldness was also what made Aoife like she is today. After deciding she should have never put her precious childhood aside to try and please her parents for approval, she started being more adventurous and playful, however she could not stop being cold and abrasive to others. Also she can be ruthless during a fight, but she does know how to lose and she can admit defeat which she learned to do herself, by admiting defeat against her brother at winning their parent’s affection. It isn’t difficult for her to open up, if she trust you she will tell you enough things about her and won’t just close off, but she is afraid to say too much so her feelings are always half-way closed off. She also fears she doesn’t understand her own feelings so she fears speaking out about how she feels if she thinks she got her feelings wrong and if it turns out to not be true people would think she lied to them. She also approaches failure with lies. This means that she’s afraid of confrontation and would rather lie about what happened than tell the truth because she fears people would call her stupid and would hate her for it, even if it’s something as breaking a pot. (This is common in childhood when parents ask who broke the pot and the children say “it was the dragon” because they’re afaraid of what their parents might do, and most people learn to own up to their mistakes, but some people, whose childhood never allowed them to progress to that level, don’t learn that until they’re grown up and either never learn it or learn it much later)
Biography : Her biological parents are Diarmuid and Grainne but considering Aoife and her twin brother Aodghan (eh-gawn) were born after Diarmuid’s death, both Grainne and Fionn knew that Grainne’s reputation would be destroyed (she was engaged to Fionn when she ran off with Diarmuid and they consumated their love). Fionn also had a feeling of guilt of not sacing Diarmuid’s life because he had the many chances to do it but he refused, but as he decided to do it, it was already too late. Fionn then decided to marry Grainne and have a platonic relationship with her so he can help her but also to clear his guilt which he believe would haunt him forever otherwise. Young Aodghan looked more like his father the more he grew and because of this his mother loved him more, and thought he was a reincarnation of Diarmuid. Fionn also favored him because he could see Diarmuid in him, and since marrying Grainne didn’t clear him of his guilt, raising Aodghan to be like his father is what he thought would help. He also learned being around him put him at a great ease and he was also glad to see him turn into a great warrior, almost as great as his father. However this was bad for Aoife because when Grainne and Fionn focused most of their time and energy Aodghan and the way he fills a hole in their hearts, Aoife felt a bit unwanted and neglected. Grainne did love Aoife too, but she could tell her brother was the obvious favorite and she knew, even if they were the same age, that Aodghan would get much more support from their parents than she did. That’s why she decided to teach herself all the things they didn’t bother teaching her, and she became independent. Aoife tried her beauty spot on her parents a few month prior to her deciding to leave and at that point she was 18 years old. When she tried the spot on them and she realised she can evoke some sort of parental love from them to get them to notice her more, but it didn’t work. She got sad thinking how even a spell can’t make them love her and she ran far, towards a cave with a large pool of breathtaking blue water in it and she cried there, a few of her tears dripping down into the water making a soft angleic sound everytime they landed in it. A few minutes later a celestial being woke up from the water and talked to Aoife. When Aoife explained why she was crying, the spirit told her that the spell didn’t work because the parental love was already there and they did already love her as a daughter, except they didn’t show it in the best way. Then Aoife started crying how she wasted a lot of time trying to make them love her and now she realised that exactly what they were doing, and due to this teh spirit aged her back making her 15 again saying “Now you’re young enough to explore yourself, something you were neglecting until now” and the spirit gave her instructions towards a place and when Aoife reached the destination she found the invitation letter and the uniform to OUH. She cut her hair and joined the school so she can learn more about the powers she got from her parents, that neighter of them took the time to talk to her about it.
