In the United States, near New York. Like, I dont have a specific city/college its set at, but its in the state of New York. Cause if this goes well and can be completed I will make this again with new characters but it would be in roughly the same geographic area and that’s the area I had in mind for another group’s disaster.
If being active is your concern, since this is an SG you don’t have to be active. I write for all the characters so you only have to be able to answer the occasional questions.

They don’t have to be in college. Having them in college makes it much easier for me to have all of the characters at one location at the same time for the initial event, but I can work with them not being in college.

Don’t worry I didn’t mention anything about being active, I mean I don’t want to get into another RP anytime soon … at least not until the coronavirus ends, becuase of the lockdown I’ve been down and I could not get enough motivation to create a character in any RPs except when it’s Meeke’s RP because I can realy on it. Adding to the fact I’m not well enough introduced to SGs to join one when I’m not even motivated enough to join more than one RP makes this a mission impossible

Valentina and Lia are both law students. What is the relationship like between the two? What about if there is a project they have been assigned to work on together with a third, less academically productive, student?

And when you two have their relationship decided, how would the two react to seeing someone die unexpectedly/react knowing someone is about to die (whether it be because of their own knowledge, or because of what the other does)?

Erm, Lia would attempt to get everyone together and start telling people to back up. It would depend on how they were killed though, because she might also try to help them by resuscitating .
If she saw someone do something foolish she would definitely try to stop them/do whatever she could to prevent it.
