App Review

So, this is going to be a double post since I didn’t get a chance to post the first post. This game missed some expectations I had but you know not everything will be perfect. It’s an interesting game which many angry bird fans will probably love!

Game: Angry Birds Evolution
Version: Android

Plot of the Game

Pros:

Fun levels
Get to level the birds on your team
Great graphics

Cons:

Fails to keep your attention after a couple of battles
Getting Hatching tickets can take some time
Becomes repetitive

My Thoughts

The game has some nice qualities to it but they aren’t really enough to entertain me for long periods of time. It’s still a level grinding game but unlike the other angry bird games you aren’t sending the birds into a big structure. It does require knowing what angle would be best even if the arrows show you where it hits. I noticed that when you move the birds into aim you can easily lose the target you want. It’s very sensitive which is kind of a downside for the game. I was hoping that they would of brought a more immersible step to the game like Looney Tunes app did where you can setup the homes of each character in it’s designated area. Angry Birds didn’t take this step though which makes it more of a high graphic level grinding game only. I’m not big on those type of games because it doesn’t keep my interest for very long. There really needs to be more to a game than just level grinding while leveling up your characters.

Will I continue to play the game?

The answer is a no at this point. I was rather disappointed with what I saw. Now, I’m not saying the game isn’t good but just that it’s not my type of game.

App Review

Alright, this is the main post for the review. I’m just going to stick with one post a week since it’s easier to do that. I will say this much; I really like playing these two games. I highly recommend them. Happy New Years Everyone! I will post the game polls tomorrow! I will even allow you to submit apps to be reviewed!

Game: Goosebumps Horrortown - The Scariest Monster City
Platform: Android
Availability: Free to Download

Pros:

Entertaining Storyline
Great Story Progression
Keeps to the classic Goosebumps aesthetic
Time management quests are not too bad
You get to meet the classic monsters from the franchise in a entertaining way

Cons: (Not Very Many)

Since it is a time management game there are times where you can’t do anything
Needs a crafting tab to send you to the crafting buildings kept forgetting which ones were for crafting
Making Money bucks is a bit slow but not a game killer

My Thoughts on the Game

Okay, I’m a huge fan of the Goosebump series so this game really caught my interest! I was actually happy it made it to the final polls selection. The game starts out with a narrator who is a skeleton but I’m not sure if he was in the series though. Besides that, we start out with Slappy and Mr. Mortman. We’ve met the main characters for the time being which is Lucy and Dustin. They are the first residents to live in your Horrortown. I was hooked the moment I started filming the game since that was my first playthrough. Sorry for the long video! I was having fun with it! I will admit that there were two points I have an issue with but they are easily fixable once you remember where to go. It’s the crafting buildings which is the treehouse and another building that I have to the far right in my city. You can place buildings down but you can only turn them two ways. Not a real issue since it keeps the buildings facing the camera which makes it easier to move around in the game. If you have too many camera controls it can complicate things. Back to the other issue I had with the game though. Money bucks are the special currency in the game which is what you need to buy Slappy’s house. You can get them a number of ways such as completing main tasks, certain achievements, and the watch a free video for one function. The only other way to get a hold of them is purchasing them from the store. Though that is only if you want to play the game faster. Considering I work a full week usually that means I’m not on my phone a lot which is great for me to play time management games. This game is a great choice for those who can play a little bit at a time depending on what times missions you choose. I will probably add this to the game guilds list that is here on the forums.

Yes, I will continue playing this game! It has kept my interest all week. I even played it some today as well. Goosebumps is one of my gotos when it comes for nostalgic shows.

Next Game

Okay, this game was interesting to play. It does start out slow but that’s most idle games. I’ll continue with the review though.

Pros:

Decent time Management
Easy to come back to
Cute Animation

Cons:

Slow beginning but the more you play the better it gets
Kind of just throws you into the game
Takes a moment to learn the mechanics

My Thoughts on the Game

This game is cute with it’s graphics. Since I have been playing lots of other idle games I went in knowing what to expect. These type of games can be slow due to the money accumulation process plus depending on how fast you upgrade everything. It took me a minute after playing the game to figure out the full setup. Luckily, they keep most of the areas to upgrade in one place. All you have to do is click on the arrows to change between the different items. This game keeps my interest for a short time but that is normal since it’s better to let it run idle to gain more money. You can click the citizens to make them go faster to the stalls around the town. It’s similar to a another idle game which is called Idle Magic School. There isn’t much to say since it will take more time to get farther into the game. I do recommend the game since it is really fun to play. If you like Medieval games with a cartoon style then definitely check this one out!
