I am beyond disappointed in my country

How could it take the police too long to search for her? Poor girl. She suffered for 19 hours, and although she called the police 3 times, she wasn’t saved and ended up dead. I really hope that the citizens will do anything to make the government and the police in particular take full responsibility for what happened.

And of course, the murderer should take full responsibility, since he’s the one who caused the girl’s death.

Apparently, they struggled to find her location at first (which is probably a lie), found the place she was held in at 03:00 on Friday and then applied for a search warrant (even though it was legally not required in this situation)

Protests were held in Bucharest (I would’ve gone too if I wasn’t gone on holiday :disappointed:) against the government and the attitude of the police. People also lit candles outside the Interior Ministry in memory of Alexandra :black_heart::pensive:

He did confess

Are you out of your country now?

Yeah. And I’m kinda mad that I couldn’t go :disappointed:

Hey, it’s not like you saw the whole situation coming.

Well, they could have forgotten the whole applying for a search warrant part and saved the girl.

Exactly!!! But they just don’t care about the people. It doesn’t matter that they don’t do s*it. They get paid anyway

I’d say, they don’t care enough. But, I can’t judge another country’s police.

And well, in my country, the police do care about the citizens, but still, there are things that should be changed, I’d say.

They don’t care. At all. They are overly violent for no reason and do not give a f*ck about the safety of the people. The amount of corruption in my country is unbearable :unamused:

Didn’t know it. That’s sad.

You know, in my country, many Ethiopians (especially the new generation) don’t really trust the police much. Well, I can’t blame them, because the police has some kind of racism problem.

That’s really sad. But I kinda understand them.

Well, as someone who comes from an Ethiopian family, I totally understand where the distrust comes from.

Oof. Hope the situation gets better in your country

Yeah. I really want there to be a change.
Racism is not a strong thing as it used to be before, but you know, it’s still there.

Not only did a girl lose her life, the laziness and incompetence of some people will make for a bad impression of the country. Wow. This is so sad. :pensive:

Are they doing an investigation into the police? I hope so

They are, thankfully.

Also, yesterday was another protest and I managed to go, which I’m quite happy about

A protest about how the situation was handled? It’s good that people are being vocal about this! Hopefully it will force them to change!

The protest from yesterday was against the government and the police, but people lit candles in memory of the two girls, as well as in memory of a tragedy that took place in 2015 that the corruption in my country is connected to :black_heart:
