I laughed and headed to the left of me knowing it would take some time for him to turn around and that I could cut him off. Turning to the right he was dead in front of me. I pushed down on the pedal aggressively - like that would make a difference in my speed - and aimed for the front of his bumper car.

I laughed, looking back and forth between Leilani chasing me and trying to make sure I wasn’t crashing into walls, all while steering clear of other peoples bumper cars. I laughed at her comments and kept driving my bumper car around, whilst running away from her bumper car. I grinned and kept getting nervous because it kinda looked like her bumper car was getting closer? “Oh no, she’s coming closer.” I said through laughter and smiled.

I laughed as I was etching closer and closer to him. I was just about to knock him when I was bumped into a corner by a young boy. Two others rammed into me as they locked me into a corner, their feet still on their pedals. “Oh come on, seriously!” I complained as they laughed with amusement.
Looking over the idiotic children I scoured the room for Diego.
“Diego!” I yelled. “Help…”
My hands dropped to my side as I laid back in my car, the three boys laughing and continuing to drive into my bumper car.

“The post about you and Elise what just the tip of the iceberg…" Hearing her name he zoned out for a moment not paying attention to what she was saying after that. He didn’t want to talk about her, not with anyone, he never really told his parents why they are no longer together. His sister tried so hard to get it out of him but he didn’t want to tell her; it was Elise’s thing to say not his. “I don’t get why anyone would bring that up, it’s the past and it should stay like that." He said visibility annoyed but tried to keep a smile on his face. “I just don’t want anyone to talk about people I care about otherwise I swear I will find that person.” He added with a chuckle but was very much serious. People closes to him actually mean the world to him, he would do anything for them and he always shows it. But it turns out some people couldn’t see that.
“Just don’t tell him anything, please.” He quietly said as he looked up at her. There are many reasons why he didn’t want Miles or anyone for that matter to know about them. There wasn’t much to know but still. “I can’t have another person hating me from the depths of their soul.” Chuckling he straightened up, turning his body fully towards her. “You are my best friend after all, you wouldn’t tell him, right?” He slightly tilted his head, curiously lifting his brow.

I kept running away from Leilani, that I didn’t notice that she hadn’t continued chasing me, because something seemed off.
I turned my bumper back around to see 3 younger dudes laughing at her…? I drove over to them. I looked at the boys in the bumper cars, " Hey, are you okay? Whats going on? " I asked Leilani.

He chuckled, but I know he wasn’t really joking. “Just take care of yourself” I said "don’t get yourself hurt or anything " I added with a light smile.
I didn’t want him to get hurt, If there was someone I cared about a lot, it was definitely him.

“Don’t worry about me.” He quickly answered, nudging her very lightly with his elbow but moved his hand over hers as he gave her a sweet smile at first. “Nothing ever happens to me so don’t worry.” He proudly repeated with a cheeky smile, shifting his gaze from the beach and people that were slowly arriving, making this place just a bit crowded to their hands.
“What are friends for after all?” Chuckling, he looked up at her swinging his arms over her shoulder and bringing her in for a side hug. For some reason it was always relaxing being around her even if he didn’t know what was this little thing happening between them. It was nothing, right? Just some friends having fun. “Why are you here?” Slowly lifting his hand up as he tangled his fingers in her hair, he curiously asked hoping she was free and they could do something.

I shook my head “that doesn’t mean you’re invincible” I said “I just don’t want you to get hurt” I said with a warm smile
I smiled as he pulled me to a side hug, I rested my head against his sholder for a short while.
I liked spending time with him, being friends with him, and whatever it is that we had going on.
Was I attracted to him? One hundred percent.
Did it bother me? Not really. At least we have what we have now, it’s not like I’ve fallen for him or anything like that… we were just friends. With some… perks.
Why are you here? I raised my head from his sholder and looked at the water “I was hanging out with Vivia but I kind of told her I gotta do something when I came over here.” I said. I hope she isn’t mad.

“I don’t know if I’m honored or I’m feeling sad for her.” Chuckling, he gently played with the strand of her hair, resting his other hand behind him and leaning back. Looking out at the beach he looked for Vivia or just anyone he might know that could see them. He didn’t care much about that but he did want to be cautious. “Let’s go for a swim or something?” He sweetly said, pulling back from a hug as he looked at her with a warm smile. “We could go to the very end of this dock? It’s my favorite spot here, no one really goes there.” He chuckled, pointing at the direction of it.

“Perfect.” He repeated after her as he also got up, putting his hands in his pockets as waited for her to do whatever she was doing on her phone. The moment she looked up he smiled at her and started walking towards the place. “I’ll warn you now, when we get that leave all your belongings to the side if you don’t want them to get ruined.” He quickly added with a mischievous smile as he kept looking in front of them. This was actually the spot his sister really loves, so whenever she comes to visit they would just chill there for some time talking about everything that’s going on in their lives. He’s been avoiding doing that for the past year now, she can be too much sometimes and he really doesn’t need that now. But thinking about it, he would give everything for her to be here, he does need her.
Getting there he looked around before leaving his phone down and turning to face her with a slight smirk. “You have 5 seconds.”

When we arrived at the lake, it was beautiful. The sunlight reflecting on the lake, the gleam and sparkle of it was breathing taking, it seemed so perfect and peaceful yet broken I some ways. It must have the tears of so many people who put on a brave face for the rest of the world but inside are weak and broken, so many pieces gone never to be seen again. In a way the lake was just like her. Putting on a brave face, broken on the inside, carrying the years of herself and others and now where to dislike of it, just trapped within her. Mentally berating herself for having a poetic monologue, she pulled herself into the present world and looked at Noelle, a small grin appearing on her face. “Why don’t we go swimming?” she asked.

“Deal” I chuckled and we started walking to the end of the docks.
I liked the lake, it was always a place that made me feel good, and calm. I liked coming here when I needed to be alone, or when I didn’t want to be at home for some reason whatsoever.
We got to the end of the docks, it was more of a quite place and not as crowded as the middle of the lake.

“I don’t even need five seconds,” I chuckled and put down the scarf thing I was wearing and my purse.
I walked to him, and smirked “last one in is a rotten egg” I said quietly and ran to the water and jumped in, catching him unprepared.

He watched her put everything down entertained by her words until she jumped in, making him jokingly roll his eyes. “Now, that’s just not fair.” Lightly pouting, he crossed his arms as he walked to the edge of it and sat down, looking down at her. “It’s nice here, isn’t it?” He quietly asked as he looked somewhere to the side for a second but quickly shifted his gaze to her with a soft smile.
Slowly lowering himself in he dived in for a second, before coming up and shaking his head like a puppy. Running his hand through his hair to fix it a bit he swam over to her with a cheeky grin.

Vivia nodded at her, “Last one there is buying a sundae,” she said and took off running towards the lake, with a dive she was in the water. At first, it was nice to be inside the water and have something so vast and cooling surround her. “Noelle how far do you think I can go?” she asked, without even waiting for a reply she swam deeper into the lake and before she knew it she was caught in the riptide.
She didn’t immediately start to panic because she knew Noelle would see her and pull her out, so in an attempt to stay afloat, she trod the water with every bit of energy she had left. It wasn’t the smartest thing she had done, and the situation wasn’t the best one, but she wasn’t thinking and now she had gotten herself in a tight situation. Her limbs were starting to get heavy and so in an attempt not to die, reduced the force at which she was moving.
The cold had started to seep into her body and everything was going numb. She was still willing her body to move on but her arms were numb and her legs started to feel weighted. Her body was aching, and she was aching but she just tried to stay positive knowing Noelle would be there soon enough. But positivity could only take you so far, a sudden pang of rage had hit her when she realised Noelle wasn’t coming she increased the kicks and tried moving out of the tide.
When she got out of it she was already too tired to move on, so she went on with treading the water. Her brain supplied her with a question that just made her see red, “why didn’t Noelle come in and get you?” I know I was being very emotional and self-fish but did she really leave me to die? Or maybe she couldn’t come this far? Yeah! She couldn’t, if she did she would’ve been caught in the riptide to. She kept pushing down on the water around her, trying to keep her mouth above the surface. It was getting so hard. My legs were still moving but I could no longer feel my toes.
Even after trying to paint everything from a positive view, no one was coming. She tried to move but her limbs gave out and she just gave up. She was tired, heavy and everything hurt. There was a ringing sound inside her ear, but other than that everything was quiet.

I came to the surface and moved the hair from my face “who said life is fair?” I smirked at him as he came and sat down

“Very funny of you.” Playfully rolling his eyes he waited for her answer, staring at her intensely. He might’ve had something on his mind but wasn’t sure she would say that so he just simply asked her.
”This.” Chuckling as she splashed him he almost immediately did the same to her, getting a bit closer. “You’re not fun.” He jokingly said with a sweet smile as he placed his hand on her hip under the water, getting even closer to her. “My plan is better.” Quietly saying it, he shifted his gaze from her eyes down to her lip, moving his hand to the small of her back gently just so he can pull her closer to where there was almost no space between them. “You already like it, don’t you?” Teasingly saying it he looked up at her eyes with a slight smirk before kissing her gently. Instead of giving her another kiss or deepening it he pulled back and splashed her once again.

She started running to the water, I ran after her but I wasn’t fast enough.
I chuckled as she beat me to the water
“Sundae on me I guess” I said with a smile.
I went in the water and dived for a moment to get used to the temperature of the water.
I came back to the surface and ran a hand through my hair looking at the water and the sky, it was such a beautiful view, I could stare at it for hours.
After a short while I turned back to Vivia, her body just floated there, her face in the water. I gasped and ran over to her, as fast as you can run when the water is making your body slow and heavy. “V!” I called at her and pulled her out of the water.
I pulled her out of the lake and laid her down on the ground by the water. She was unconscious.
“V” I said again and moved the hair out of her face.
I didn’t know any CPR but I tried doing what I saw in movies like pressing on her chest, where was Miles when I needed him? I sighed.
As I pressed on her chest, water came out of her mouth.
Her lungs were probably filled with water, she couldn’t breath now even if she was concious.
I picked out my phone, my whole body was shaking and I could barely function normally, but I had to at least try.
I called an ambulance, my voice was cracking, I told them where we are and to hurry.
The medics came and took her to the ambulance, I followed them, my pulse was high on so many levels that’s it’s not okay anymore.
But I tried holding my tears, I didn’t want to cry.
I wanted to be strong for her, especially now.
They drove us to the hospital, entering the hospital, my mind drifted of a bit. I haven’t been to the hospital since… never mind.
It all came back to me, I was swamped in so many emotions at the same time, that I don’t know how to handle anymore.
Being in the hospital made me feel really bad, it made me shiver and my heart was racing.
I zoned back. I have to. This is not about me.
I knew Miles was off work so he won’t be here, but I knew they’re very professional and they won’t let her die.
They did some CPR and other things I’m not really familiar with because I’m not the doctor in this family.
I was waiting in the hall the whole time, and now when I was sitting there and waiting, not knowing if it was the last time I’ll ever see her, I couldn’t hold myself anymore and the tears came running down my face.
When they were done a doctor came out to me since, as soon as I saw him i shot up standing and looked at him with a look that asks is she okay?
He said she was alright and that she’s in the room, and will probably wake up soon.
I thanked him and he showed me to the room where she was.
My eyes were swollen red, but wiped the tears off my face and opened the door to see her laying in the bed, she was still unconscious, connected to an IV.
I sat down next to her and took her hand.
As I was looking at her I had all these thoughts running through my head, I knew she was okay now, but I couldn’t stop myself from being anxious…

I bit my lip as he came closer “and what would your plan be?” I asked and looked at him, he pulled me closer until there was barely any space between us if any at all, I could feel his muscles and the water drops on his skin.

“You know I do” I said and put my hand on his chest. My heart was beating fast, and I kissed him back as he kissed me.
There was something about his kisses, every time I kissed him made my whole body was on fire, it was crazy. Nobody else does that.
He pulled back gently, but before I could do or say anything he splashed me.
I stood there and looked at him, crossing my arms.
