Sitcoms are most widely know for their wild antics and fairly simple humour. Would you say they’re just plain dumb or something to watch when you want something light and funny?
I think sit coms are often just meant to be a light and comedic solution to escape reality for a bit .
They are especially great to watch after a busy day and you just want to set your brain on null.
Because even though I do like watching more thought provoking and deeper shows as well. Whenever I’m just exhausted after days of work . I just want to watch something simple and comedic that doesn’t require much attention. And yeah sometimes those shows can be considered “dumb” due to their humor and- or simplicity ,but I personally just think they are mostly harmless fun. And not every sitcom is going to have slapstick comedy . There are shows out there that have very witty jokes paired with actual great but fairly simple storylines.

It really depends on the sitcom, and even in the specific characters or scenes .
i think they’re mostly light and easy
But there are definitely stupid ones
