Murder Mystery Official Roleplay/Story

Sophia walked down the long, dark hallway. The other maids were either cooking in the kitchen, attending to the guests rooms, or cleaning. Sophia just got done with washing some of the utensils and now she was taking a break. She wiped her hands on her dress and leaned against the wall, loosening up her tight heel. She undid her bun and let her blonde strands fall down her shoulders. Wearing a bun wasn’t exactly seductive. She wondered when she was going to be able to do what she came there to do. While walking down the hallway again, she turned the corner and saw two guests standing in the hallway. “What are you guys doing? You’re not supposed to be in here.” She frowned at the blonde female but when she looked at the man next to her, she noticed just how handsome he was. Her eyes trailed down his tattoos and she smirked, leaning against the wall. “Unless you’re trying to get a room together.” She moved her tongue across her teeth. (Thinking) this guy could work then she looked the female up and down. “…But I doubt it.” She stared at the blonde a bit longer, then let out a seductive laugh, hurrying them out the door. “Now go on, shoo. Thomas Miller is making his grand entrance soon so wait in the garden.” She winked at the guy. If she was going to steal something from someone she better start soon and her eyes were set on him.

Time Skip

It was time to serve the guests their food. Sophia made sure to put on the perfect smile. She wrapped her hair into a tight bun again, sanitized her hands, and walked outside with the other maids while pushing a cart that had trays of food and a large tea cup. Sophia walked over to a table and started pouring water in each glass. One of the guests spilled water all over his pants. Sophia looked at him and asked If he was okay, but he obviously wasn’t. He pretty much embarrassed himself in front of everyone. Sophia thought it was a bit amusing but portrayed concern in her eyes. The guy ended up running away which was understandable, though she wondered why he was so nervous in the first place.

Sophia walked over to the table that the gentleman she saw in the hallway happened to be sitting. She leaned over and poured him a glass of water, making sure that her neck was next to his nose so that he could smell her perfume. Then she reached over to pour the person beside him a glass of water. She stretched her body across the table on purpose, making sure that her dress was slightly lifted for Nick’s view, and so that her chest at least brushed against the guy from earlier’s forehead. Unfortunately, her chest had to be covered because of maid dress code, but this definitely did the job.

Sophia whispered “Come to the house, it’s important.” Before lifting off the table completely. Then she put the tea cup back on the cart, and walked away with a switch.

Once Sophia got into the house, she made sure no one was around and took down her hair. Then she leaned against the table near the door where she saw the guy earlier. She wished that it was Nick that she was going to seduce and imagined him coming through the door. She imagined him seeing her beauty, throwing her arms around him while his met her waist and their mouths meeting in a passionate dance.

Sophia waited for the guy with the tattoos to come through the door instead.

“Hey, you guys know where all the hot chicks are?” Juan’s brows were already creased as he turned to Mr. Bright eyed and bushy tailed. “Oh, I don’t—“ Before he could finish his thought, the enthusiastic guy had already turned on his heel and started walking away. Frustration bubbled up inside Juan as he pivoted back to Theo— “Theo?” Was nowhere to be seen.

With a heavy sigh, Juan placed his hands on his hips and took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the railing, and felt a wave of resignation wash over him. Oh well on that relaxing evening.

Juan was having a hard time keeping his frustration under wraps. Who would have thought that thirty-four dead ends really tested a man’s patience? Well. Juan knew all too well—and the fact that he’d actually counted them only added to his irritation. By the time he emerged into the clearing, he looked a bit disheveled, his hair tousled and sleeves rolled up, a light sheen of sweat glistening on his forehead.

Juan was slightly taken aback by the sight of tables scattered throughout the garden, each one capable of seating three or four people. Among the light chatter, his eyes landed on a familiar face—Veronica. The sight momentarily froze him in place, he hadn’t anticipated running into someone he recognized. Unfortunately, her table was already packed, leaving him with little choice but to settle into one of the few remaining seats. He smiled at his new table mates—until he looked up. The sharp red contrasted of Theos hair contrasted with the green surrounding them.

Regardless, Juan tore his eyes away focusing on the task at hand. He introduced himself to the table, within minutes engaging the whole table into conversation. Juan wouldn’t have noticed Thomas if not for him speaking up. He turned to face the man of the hour—or really, many many of Juan’s hours, great his guests. He wondered when would be a good time to approach him…

Juan smiled and thanked the maids as they moved on from his table, he found himself studying that kid again. He took a sip of his red wine, and as he was setting it down he locked eyes with Theo. How was he not to stare, they directly in each other’s line of sight? Juan winced, as water spilled over Theo. Even from here, he could feel embarrassment raiding off Theo. “I’m fine, thank you.” Juan hadn’t even realized why, but he was also standing, napkin in hand. He couldn’t merely let him slip away—again, the people person in him kicked into high gear. It was a blend of worry and curiosity that propelled him forward. Way he felt like this kid needed someone in his corner. Juan maneuvered through the tables as he tried to stay on Theo’s heels.

The buzzing chatter of the party faded into background noise as they entered the house, and all he could focus on was the trail Theo had left behind. He spotted the familiar flicker of Theo’s shirt as he rounded a corner and vanished through the doorway.

Juan picked up his pace, quickening his steps until he reached the entrance the door. For a brief moment, he hesitated, gauging whether he should truly disrupt whatever sanctuary Theo had sought. He swallowed, stepping inside and calling out, Theo? It’s me—Juan?”

Theo didn’t know where the bathrooms were, that was his only problem. The first problem of getting away from everyone was already cleared up, but now he had to deal with a different flavor of embarrassment. Theo ran down the hallway but he started hearing an extra pair of shoes echoing against the walls, and he immediately knew exactly who that was. He didn’t stop running until he got inside of a room and voila! It was a bathroom! The door just happened to be open for some reason. Theo stood there in front of the mirror. He was fully prepared to shut the door but he couldn’t do it. He stayed still and reluctantly waited for the person to round the corner. The footsteps stopped as they neared the doorway probably from hesitation, but then the person finally showed themselves. It was Juan.

Theo swallowed nervously at being so close to the person he was trying to get away from. The bathroom was small, smaller than he thought it would be. Theo looked down at the floor as his heart began beating faster.

Theo? It’s me—Juan?”

He couldn’t say anything, all he could do was swallow. He finally looked up at Juan but it just made his palms even more sweaty. He stood stiffly. “Oh… Hi…I…” His voice was robotic. He felt as if he had some kind of fever. Or that he must have hit his head. Why was he acting this way. Why did he feel this way. Towards… Him.

Theo felt that he must have followed him after noticing him staring like an idiot. After their eyes…locked. What was wrong with him?

“… I’m fine, I mean I’m sorry… For… the inconvenience.” Being this close to Juan in an enclosed room, Theo had the chance to observe all of his features. He truly was attractive. He features complimented each other nicely. His dark eyes paired well with his dark hair and his jaw was perfectly symmetrical. Theo looked down again. So that was what he was feeling? But he never… Did he like men? But he never really liked anyone…

Theo leaned against the sink while looking the other way towards the toilet, wanting to be anywhere but there, but his hand ended up slipping on the slick surface. Theo stumbled, trying to hold himself up but the surface was too slippery so he ended up falling on the floor and hitting his shoulder. He gasped. He was in a small corner between the bathtub and sink. He looked up at Juan, his face twisted into a scowl from the pain and fresh embarrassment. He was breathing hard and now he was at his mercy. He would probably help him up. He would probably touch his hand… His warm hand.

“… I’m fine, I mean I’m sorry… For… the inconvenience.” Juan stayed in the doorway, leaning against the frame. He realized he was still holding his napkin and shoved it in his pocket, then crossing his arms. “Theo, in no world do you need to apologize.” He assured, not sure if he was allowed in Theo more personal space.

Juan watched as Theo looked anywhere but him, and he started to feel bad he even came. Nobody wanted to be cornered after being embarrassed—even if it really wasn’t Theos fault. Theo shouldn’t have felt bad for that accident. Juan realized he was staring, and took a small step back—only to be instinctively propelled forward as Theo tumbled forward. It was second nature, Juan reaching out for him—just too late. He winced, standing over Theo. “Oh!—sorry,”

Juan tried his best not to literally trap Theo in the tight space, but had to lean forwards hand out stretched. “Here,” Juan smiled sheepishly, head tilted, gaze moving from Theo’s face to hands and back. “Please, Theo.”

“That didn’t look fun. Maybe we can find some Tylenol? Advil? They have got to have something in this mansion.”

Theo looked up at the man’s arm that laid outstretched before him. It was daunting and provoking, tempting yet intimidating. Theo knew this would happen, and yet, he still wasn’t prepared. Theo decided to slowly reach his hand up from the cold bathroom floor to meet his. His arm slightly shook from nervousness as his hand began to make contact. The warmth of Juan’s hand enveloped his. Like a firework it shot through his arm first and made its way to his chest. Theo stared at him for a second in awe before remembering what he was supposed to do. He quickly tried to push himself up against the wall while relying on the weight of Juan’s grip. He was clumsy, his legs wobbled, and his back was pressed against the cold wall, but he finally managed to get up. Theo felt like the wind got knocked out of his chest, especially when noticing that he was not standing in front of Juan again.

But there was something else… A light feeling. Was he dizzy? No he wasn’t just dizzy, it was because of him

“That didn’t look fun. Maybe we can find some Tylenol? Advil? They have got to have something in this mansion.”

Theo wanted to look away like before but he couldn’t. “I think I’m fine but, I mean you don’t have to go to the trouble. We can find some though. If you want that is.” His words were all jumbled. Without realizing it, his eyes trailed to his lips. Half of him wanted to run away and the other half just wanted an excuse to keep talking to him.

Nick was standing just a couple of steps behind Mr. Miller. He watched as the guest went about themselves. Some seemed to have continued their conversation from earlier while others seemed to be enjoying themselves. But one person kept standing out. It was a maid that was the newest hired. There was something about her that just made her stand out, and he couldn’t quit put his finger on it.

He would sneak a few glances at her but would always keep things professional between the two of them. But lately it seemed she was doing more to get his attention. Even right now. She was attending to one of the male competitors but in a way that felt much more than what it was suppose to be. The way she moved, the way her dress had slightly lifted jus enough, he could feel his body reacting. He adjusted his shirt collar and excused himself from Mr. Millers side as he left the party. He made his way down the hallway and into the nearest bathroom. Locking the door behind him. He walked over to the sink, turning on the cold water. Once it was cold enough, he splashed his face a few times. The freezing cold water did help bring his temperature down and he focused on calming other parts of himself down. Once he was finally comfortable. He exited the bathroom

The maid was acting weird. That’s all Kara could notice during the meal. The first time she saw her in the hallway of the manor, there was a snide tone but a flirty one when it came to Drax. Kara knew that something wasn’t exactly professional about her, but it seemed to be more prominent during Thomas Miller’s entrance when she was bending every which way for Drax and Nick’s attention. Kara watched with a frown, feeling appalled at the lack of professionalism and desperation.

When she was almost done with her meal, she noticed Nick disappear from the party and start walking back to the manor. Kara decided to excuse herself from the table. She walked to the manor behind him with hesitation. It felt like she was following him and she wondered if she was doing the right thing with wanting to talk about the maid. When she was about to catch up to him he went into the bathroom, so she decided to stand against the wall awkwardly, waiting for him to come back out.

He finally came out of the bathroom and the sound of the door opening made her jump up a bit. “Hey! Nick… If that’s your name…” She couldn’t help but notice how attractive he was from the very beginning. She wondered how long he’s worked for Thomas Miller. “I kind of wanted to talk to you about something that I noticed. It’s about the maid. I think she’s just really unprofessional.” She said awkwardly. There was a part of her that wondered if she was just making an excuse to talk to him but, something about the maid really bothered her.

“I suppose unadventurous minds must exist everywhere. But I hope to see what you love about the city, should I ever visit. Let me know if you find yourself Oregon-way; I can show you the best cafes in Portland, though I’m sure they are somewhat less exciting than what you might show me.” She allowed the conversation to lull, before submitting to her own curiosity. “Do you still design?”

Before she could answer the matter of sandwiches, they were interrupted by Mr. Miller’s announcement. Marcelle studied him carefully as he spoke, unused to seeing the man behind the email signature. He seemed smaller than she had anticipated-- a frail man as she had never known. “It seems he’s beaten us to addressing our own hunger,” she mused idly, as the feast was carted out. “Really, I should have expected no less. Always one for a show.”

She made no move to get up, as content with staying in current conversation as she would be with making their way to the food.

When he stepped out of the bathroom, he adjusted his bowtie as someone started talking to him. “Hey! Nick… If that’s your name…” He smiled friendly at the lady, as he lowed his head respectfully. “hello ma’am. My name is indeed Nick. What can I do for you?” “I kind of wanted to talk to you about something that I noticed. It’s about the maid. I think she’s just really unprofessional.” She seemed a bit awkward when she spoke. “A maid being unprofessional…” He felt like he knew which maid she was referring to, but he didn’t say anything. He couldn’t really fire her since she somehow got the jobs done. “I thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will have a word with this maid shortly. I do hope you find it in yourself to enjoy your time here.” His smile never filtered as he looked at her as he spoke.

"I’m sorry, I just noticed how unprofessional she’s been this whole time. I mean, didn’t you see what she was doing out there?.. "
Kara looked at him with her eyebrow raised.
“How long have you been working for Thomas Miller? I’m sure that its against the rules to wear a dress that short right? I mean, I even noticed that her hair wasn’t even in a bun when I was in the house earlier.”
Kara realized that she just told on herself for sneaking into the house earlier, so she quickly started talking again to cover it up.
“You seem like a professional staff member, and I just thought that Thomas Miller and his staff would be more selective when it comes to who they hire.”

He remained quiet as she spoke some more. Placing both his hands behind his back as he held his wrist back there. “I’m sorry, I just noticed how unprofessional she’s been this whole time. I mean, didn’t you see what she was doing out there?..” She than raised an eyebrow at him as she continued. “How long have you been working for Thomas Miller? I’m sure that its against the rules to wear a dress that short right? I mean, I even noticed that her hair wasn’t even in a bun when I was in the house earlier.”

He couldn’t help but raised an eyebrow at her admitting to have stepped into the house earlier but he soon waved that comment off. “unfortunately I do not have a say on this…particular maids employment.” He didn’t really like having any say about this maid in general. After all she was hired by Mr. Miller and he had made it clear that no one could really fire her. He sighed as he slowly shook his head from side to side. Feeling rather disappointed. “I’ve been his assistant for far too long ma’am. I will reprimand the maid when I see her. You do not need to worry ma’am.” He smiled at her as his hand around his wrist did tighten a bit.

“You seem like a professional staff member, and I just thought that Thomas Miller and his staff would be more selective when it comes to who they hire.” He felt like she had praised him in a way. But he shook it off as nothing since there was indeed a complaint about someone underneath him. He knew he should of assigned a extra maid to keep her in her lane. But mr. Miller wouldn’t have let him even if he did do it in secret. He was sure there must of been a reason why Mr. Miller had hired her, though he was sure it was because she was just another pretty face in the mansion.

Taking in a breath. “Usually there is, yet some… exemptions do happen…as rare as they are… They do happen. And unfortunately she was one of them.” He couldn’t help but sigh. This whole maid ordeal did make him feel like a complete failure.

Julia slammed the door of her gray vintage Cadillac and put on her black sunglasses, looking up at the towering mansion behind the black gate. The trees swaying in the wind added to the haunted feel. She could only imagine the amount of family history the house held as well as it’s secrets. There was something charming about it though and as she walked across the gravel, her heels clicking against the ground. she looked up to see the sun going behind the house, making it look even more mysterious.

Julia walked into the house. Her heels pierced the red floral rug in front of the door. There was no one around to greet her and figured that all of the guests were probably in the living room or somewhere mingling. Theo. She wondered where her brother was or if he would be happy to meet her. Would he even be glad to see an offspring of his dead father or would he hate her? These questions passed through her mind as she maneuvered her way through the dark brown hallways. Suddenly, a maid greeted her and showed her to her room.

After her things got settled she decided to sit in the living room and drink some tea with crumpets, something that one of the maids served her. She knew that the host was the uncle of her brother but unfortunately she hadn’t been able to meet him yet

Theo finally took Juan’s hand and he felt the nerves of trapping the poor boy dissipate. He smiled, as they took each other’s hand, Juan reaching for Theos elbow as extra support as they wobbled upright once again.

It took Juan a moment to realize he was still holding Theos elbow, his eyes crinkled as he gave an apologetic smile and gently dropped his hands back to his side. He took a step back, then over to peer in the cabinets as he mentioned a pain medication.

Juan hesitantly looked through the cabinet, a little worried it be perceived as snooping. “I think I’m fine but, I mean you don’t have to go to the trouble. We can find some though. If you want that is.” Juan looked over his shoulder with a grin, then clicked his tongue twice. “Theo, Theo, what am going to do with you?” He gently closed the bathroom cabinet, turning back to Theo. “I’m more than happy to look with you but I want you to decide. Don’t let what you think I’m thinking decide for you.”

Don’t let what you think I’m thinking decide for you.”

The only thing he was thinking about was one thing.

“It’s.. It’s fine I’ll just…” Theo moved past him but stumbled on his shoes, causing him to lean across the sink and stumble against the wall. He had to get away from him fast. Why did he have to look at his lips? When he pushed open the door he saw someone standing there. He looked at her and her expression was one of shock. He didn’t know why but they just stood there in silence for a bit. It was like looking into a mirror.

“Theo.” The woman said. She sounded like she hadn’t breathed in a long time. She looked between him and Juan.

Theo just stood there.

"I’m your sister on your father’s side. I’m sorry if I was interrupting something. I just.. "

Theo’s cheeks began to turn red. There was no way she just said that. “We weren’t doing anything or talking…and I…don’t know you.”

“I’m sorry, I was just trying to find the bathroom, but then I saw you here.” Her eyes began to sparkle to Theo’s dismay. He didn’t even know he had a sister on his father’s side…and he wished he could keep it that way. He didn’t want anything to do with his dad.

“I don’t -”

“And who are you sir? Are you a friend of Theo’s or..” Julia stopped herself from saying anything more just in case it was awkward but she was used to speaking outside of her tongue. She extended her hand to the gentleman.
