Even worse, using rape as a plot device and glorifying abuse…

It doesn’t bother me at all to be honest. But then again, I’m neither easily shocked, or easily bothered. So it’s fine with me.
I haven’t come across any, so far at least , that use that as a plot device or glorify abuse, si not sure where you’ve seen that.

Ah fanfics, makes sense then. Maybe look for other stories, actual novels etc that are more tame if you aren’t liking that stuff.

I guess… some fanfics are good and exremely well-written, but others? Nah.

Plus I feel like some novels will be too cliche!!

Well most stories on there will be 18+ kinds of content, which means sexual stuff in a lot of cases. So if you aren’t 18, and /or are easily bothered by sexual content. It’s best to try out the more tame stories like young adult section, or other genres where romance isn’t the main ingredient
