So here’s my idea:

Maybe they’re businessmen and there company needs an alliance? Say, one’s business is going really down because of lack of investors and the other has the money but there reputation is declining due to rumours and all.

But the companies are rivals so the alliance won’t work if it wasn’t something really really permanent or something of the sort?

Ehm that the world depends on it?

Maybe if it is a futuristic world or something like that, could be a couple of representants (the more nobles, richest or any other condition) from each “planet”, “city”, “country” or “galaxy”, etc. Are needed for a big council where the destiny of that particular place will be decided (?)
They have to be the perfect match or show that a true connection exist
between them so they could be aproved for the “high council”, “kings”, “owners”, “lords”, “creators” or whatever antagonist superior force and all of that , so their world would not be in danger anymore(?)

Or not

In a world, where humans and other creatures live together in a planet, but it’s falling apart when the biggest witch of the whole galaxy for ages wants to take over and bring her own kind only, the 2 main characters and one of them is a faerie, have to get married because they have some kind of power that if they work together, they can take the witch, and any other kind that is a threat to this peaceful world.

This one is a tiny bit cliche, but it’s still good and you can use it if you put your own spin on it:

After a long war, two nations have decided to make amends. But part of that process involves the leaders’ children getting married to form a proper union

There is a big enemy that two worlds are facing, however neither worlds are strong enough to survive so they have to unite and the only way they consider strong enough is by marrying

thanks. but those are more plot ideas and I know I did not tell my plot but I have one. sorry I sometimes forget when I write that people dont have the same understanding as me

the story is supposed to be a medieval fantasy

Mine works with 2 kingdoms who are losing in a war against a much bigger kingdom or army

It doesn’t necessarily have to be cliche, actually! It depends on what you do with it from there. I mean, having a story where the betrothed hate each other is cliche no matter how you try to spin it. So if they don’t have each other, you can get away with pretty much any reason!

can I talk to you private about my idea?

Maybe they haven’t been married yet at the start? Do a bit of an intro to the characters so it doesn’t jump straight into the action?

not how the story goes. I dont plan for them to be married in the start of the story.
