Nereida sniffled and looked up at the person who spoke to her. It was something she had never seen before. She recognized the other two as being female but tilted her head at the third. It took a step towards her and she scrambled back into the waves, a flicker of terror flashed in her eyes. Suddenly the clouds over the ocean came together and blocked out the sun as they grew darker over the horizon. The once tranquil waves that had gently lapped against the shoreline had grown to a gargantuan size as they began to roughly ravage the coastline, ebbing and flowing. The previously relaxing and brisk ocean breeze had become a howling salty sea wind that whipped through the nearby trees and further fueled the fury of the water. Heavy rains began to pound the coastline and thunder rumbled. The thing that had taken a step towards her appeared to be in the middle of saying something, that Nereida could barely make out.
Without warning a savage riptide had pulled Nereida out to sea, roughly forcing her under the waves as it did so. Nereida had to fight with everything she had just to break through the surface to breathe only to be forced under once more by the surmounting waves. Finding herself running out of energy and unable to breathe, Nerieda reached her hand to the surface and slipped into unconsciousness. Now with nothing to fight against it, gravity began to pull the girl down drowning her with every passing second.
