Akelys Cemestial
Nova Ventis - Training room

“Please tell me this is my compensation for what you did during the battle,” Akelys said sauntering in the room.

“Hey, Eulalia!” sparing a glance at the body on the ground. “I see you’ve been experimenting on yourself again.” The first time he came into her lab, he nearly had a heart attack seeing her lying unconscious on the floor. He thought she had been attacked. Luckily someone came in and explained her habits before he could press the alarm and send the whole building into lockdown. He would never have been able to live down that embarrassment. He had learned his lesson and had since gotten used to her ways of experimenting.

“Let me see this beauty!” zeroing on the silver cube Margaux had just set on the table. He took the cube and started turning it around in his hands, before pressing on a little button. The cube started to crack and click together. The metal, transforming and expanding into a beautiful silver hoverbike. Akelys whistled, “You have surpassed my expectation Margaux, it looks absolutely amazing!”. His eyes, field with admiration and fascination, were scanning every little mechanism and part of the bike.

“Oh hey, by the way, Eulalia! I passed by Hector and Bryn. They were talking about a new chip you created for the battlefield. What is that all about?” He asked, his eyes never leaving the hoverbike.

Location: Brunspar Rift ~ Lakora

He raised an eyebrow at this, a bit surprised at the question because it had seemed clear to him that it had just been another effort from Peter to tease him. “Should I?” He replied, his head tilting to the side to further emphasize his skepticism. Evarius’ eyes tracked Peter’s foot as it slid down the chair, before using it to push himself up more onto the chair, a soft puff of air pushing through Evarius’ lips as Peter lowered himself onto his lap. Ev trailed his hands up Peter’s legs, slowly moving up his thighs until his hands rested in the divot of Peter’s waist.

Evarius was acutely aware of Peter’s presence on his lap, a knowledge which was even more heightened as he felt Peter shift his position on him so that he was situated even deeper on his lap. His increasing arousal was interrupted by the abrupt insult from Peter whose seeming offence was offset by the taunting grin he wore. His mouth parted in slight surprise, amusement curving his lips. “Wow, what a flirt you are,” he replied, a laughing lilt in the sarcasm. His brows furrowed as Peter went on, momentarily confused, but then he realized that Peter thought that it had been some sort of mission, the relationship. He must be thinking that Evarius had been some sort of spy, when in reality he was just an innocent young guy who still believed that love could overcome anything. “There were a lot of things that were f^cking naïve about my actions back then.” He said simply, offering a shrug.

Evarius watched Peter’s reaction to his insinuation with a grin, catching the momentary alarm in his eyes as they flicked back to stare at him. It was likely the mix of alcohol and horniness, but whatever the reasoning, he was feeling dangerously bold. He chuckled at Peter’s remark, but he allowed him to take the armour out of his hands—though he really had wanted to learn how to use it—and meeting him halfway for the kiss that he’d been craving. There was a hungry violence behind it, a need that appeared to rise from within the both of them and which was spilled over in this feasting kiss. In all of its wild, horrid glory, there was a peaceful satisfaction in its midst, some sort of sensation which brought him back to what could have been if things had been different, if they lived in a world in which magic and science weren’t at war.

Peter broke away from him to move his lips to Ev’s neck, a moan escaping his mouth as Peter left his mark on his skin. There was a second when he heard the telltale clattering of something falling off of the edge of a surface, but when he pulled away from Peter to see the perpetrator of the noise, Peter was drawing his attention back to him, his hands in Ev’s hair. If he had been less drunk and thought about it more, the excuse would’ve had a lot more weight in his mind, but for a moment there he wanted this to just be something… easy, for once. “Don’t you know? Things are never how they seem with Selenites,” he murmured as Peter left kisses on the crook of his neck. Ev wrapped a hand around the back of Peter’s neck, guiding his lips back to meet his own. He pulled back to whisper a last remark, a taunting smirk dancing on his lips. “You think they’re one thing and then it turns out they’re the complete opposite.”

He crashed his lips back into Peter’s, his hand gripping Peter’s hip. His hand was beginning to snake up Peter’s shirt when he heard another sound, this one human-sounding, but before he could even turn and react properly, Peter was throwing a dagger into the direction of the noise. It appeared to have connected with a body, as there was a scream of pain, and he turned the chair to see Odessa, that chick he’d teleported to the hospital for, with the dagger that Peter had thrown embedded in her leg, and that other guy, Magnum, who had also been at the hospital but whose existence he had forgotten about. Odessa fell, somehow managing to produce a very loud crash as she hit the machinery on her way down, which also caused all of the lights in the ship to turn on. He gaped, blinking slowly as he took in this absurd scene and came to the realization that he would not be getting laid.

“What the f^cking f^ckkkkk,” he muttered to himself, pushing Peter off of his lap and rising from the chair they had been in. He went over and kneeled next to her, plastering a smile on his face. “Well hello again,” he said, his eyes dipping to the dagger in her leg, wincing at the sight of it. His gaze flicked to Peter then, giving him an unimpressed look. “You really threw a dagger at Odessa, really?” A thought occurred to him, and his eyes narrowed as he regarded Peter. “Where did that dagger even come from…?” He shook his head, turning back to Odessa. “He’s sorry about that, total accident. We’ll get it out and fix up that wound and you’ll be good as new. But, uh…” He paused, his eyes flicking between Odessa and her friend with a confused gaze. “… Why, are you two here exactly? Especially him,” he nodded at Magnum, “isn’t he some sort of Selenium robot or something?”

Ryuko sighed as he walked into his office. After being treated by the medics, Ryuko felt frustrated. He had hesitated at the last moment. Ryuko banged his fist on the desk in anger and pushed some papers off his desk. Some of his coworkers popped their heads in then walked away…since they knew Ryuko needed time to cool off.

He sat down and rested his elbows on the desk, while his hands held his head. His hands grasped the hair on the back of his neck. You f**cking idiot! He thought. He looked at a picture of his dead girlfriend on the ground, the frame had broken when he knocked things off his desk.

“How could you be so strong when the odds were against you? You always had a smile on your face when times were tough. When the war started…when your parents were fighting…always…” He whispered. “F*ck…

Ryuko banged his fist against the desk again and felt tears form in his eyes from frustration. Why did he hestitate?!

“I theenk you surpassed your fazzer’s standards ze moment you created zose,” Margaux gestured towards Eulalia’s personalised weapons. Her eyes sparkled, particularly, at the sight of HB-975. The intricate system projected shields that resembled Minerva’s, but its core was radically different. “And a simulation capable of recreating magic? Zat would be 'elpful. So far, ze only way I 'ave able to generate a teeny amount of it is by growing a Lakoran flower. Even zen, it only lasted a couple of days -ze air of Selenium is not pure enough for it to absorb ze necessary particles to generate it on ze long term.”

Casually shifting her weight, Margaux considered obtaining more supplies from Akelys. If Eulalia needed further research, she could handle that. As if answering her thoughts, she heard familiar, somewhat boyish voice rise behind her, and turned to find Akelys swiping the brand new hoverbike from its platform.

“Of course it looks amazing,” Margaux commented, a proud blush tinting her cheeks. “And I perfected ze commands and increased mobility. You will be able to 'andle it as if it were part of your body.”

The invention, however, was not the only thing that seemed to have caught Akelys’ interest. Margaux leaned back against the platform, casually wiping her blaster and shooting Eulalia a side smile. “You move faster zan ze military can follow, Eulalia,” she said, genuinely appreciative. “What is it you created zis time?”

I looked up when someone stormed in. Why is everyone here all of a sudden, didn’t I … ooooh - I suddenly remember. “Set the room status to maintenance” I commanded but felt my cheeks burn as I often forgot to change the room status.

Curious I looked at the cubes that Margaux presented. “I assume this is the compact stand of a fold-out transport model?” I ask, looking at the material. “I should do a simulation for hoverboards as there are some that use them,” I say more thoughtfully and open my notes through my bracelet. without looking I make some notes until Akelys’ comment brought me back into the world.

“Ah yes, those things,” I say with a nod and threw one to both of them. "They are miniature scanners that are going to record the moment the group going to Lakora gets into a fight. It will scan the fighting style of Lakorians so I can add a training simulation soon so we can be better prepared for the future. I hope to be able to add magic to the simulation later, but that is for the future. For now, I am already very proud that I finally managed to get the realistic simulation Demo to work without it being deadly "I laugh. “I just have to make sure that people can continue to fight, even if they get hit” I explain and distance myself from the other two. “Start projectile training test, set level to the single arrow, turn on realistic simulation demo, target Id: ESH-209. Exclude everyone else in the room.” I said and another arrow shot at me, hitting me in the back. This time I only felt a little jolt that felt like a carpet shock.

With a grin, I turn to the other before making a bow. “Lady and gentleman, we have a success,” I said proudly and couldn’t contain my excitement as I let out a sigh of relief while smiling to myself. “change projectile training test realistic simulation to public access, add a confirmation before starting sequence” I commanded.

“Now everyone will be able to train while feeling the pain of getting hit without being hurt,” I said smiling. “soon all simulation will have these options,” I said excitedly.

Cornelia slipped away when Zelda and Avian were talking, deciding to go to Selenium. She rembered that another ghost had mentioned having a alive boyfriend who lived there, and Cornelia was bored. It wouldn’t hurt, as long as she stayed hidden when someone else entered the room. She appeared in what looked like an office, staying invisible. She knew it was him when she saw him looking at Astra’s photograph. She didn’t want to reveal herself just yet, feeling mischievous. She headed over to a computer, turning it on, and beginning to type.
Hello, Ryuko.

Ryuko heard the sound of the computer turning on and he grabbed his pistol, aiming it at the computer. “Who’s there?!” He didn’t see anything at first then saw the keys start to move. He sat down in his chair and rubbed his eyes with his thumb and pointer finger.

“I’m going insane…” He mumbled. Then the typing stopped. His head jerked to the computer and he aimed his pistol again as he read his name. “Show yourself!”

He walked over to the computer and ran a virus scan and found nothing wrong. “what?” He asked under his breath.

Cornelia internally freaked when she saw the gun pointed at her. Then she had a revelation, which made her want to mess with the guy a bit more. She couldn’t die again. Now, Cornelia was anything but malicious, she was just bored. She decided to scare the crap out of him. “I̶̛̫̥͆͌̓͊ ̸͕̰̝̖̪̬̩̝̮͓̈͗̈́̈́͛̋͘͝͝a̶̛̲͐̂m̴̰̜̝̖̩̺̰̈́ ̶̞̤̭͇̩̖̘̫̜͍̑̀͐̏̅͐̓̒́͠ỹ̶͈̯̼̅̃͋͋̎́̇o̶̜̘̝̖͈̥̯̓̆̍̂̆͌̉͐͜u̸̬̱͉̝̰̰͌̐̀͆́̌͠r̸̛̛̳͙̺͕͑̽̐͑͒̕͘̕ ̴̨̡͂̉͝w̷̡̡̖̦͉͚̞̐ơ̷̧̛͕̯̬̩̰̻̤̐͑́͆͗̓ͅr̸̠̳̯͇͉̘͚͖̝̣̿̑̊̎͘s̵͍̗͒͗͂͂͝t̷̞̫̫̰̞͉̰̰̆̔͂ͅͅ ̸̨͖͎͕̦̱̭̑̐̑̌ṉ̷̨̹̟̟̈́͆̂̽̄́̍̄͘ì̷̹̮̣̱͚̐͒g̴̨̬͚̤̲͈̗͖̯̺̒h̶͖̺̬̅͒͆̅̏̍̓͠t̷̟̯̦̱̜̦͌̽̀̂̓m̶͚̩̙͙̭̠̲̪͓̒͛̈ȁ̶̦͍̮͎̂͋̈́̌̾͘͝͝r̸̙̾̐ę̸̤̤̜̠͈̑̈́͑͜“ She typed, before letting out a tiny sneeze a minute later. Whyyyyyyy… Cornelia thought dramatically, perching on top of the computer. Her nose just blew her cover.

Ryuko raised an eyebrow as he heard the sneeze. There is a lakorian here…probably one who could turn themselves invisible. He thought. Ryuko kept his pistol pointed at where he heard the sneeze and made his way over to his desk, where a button was that he had put in, just in case a Lakorian showed up.

“You have 5 seconds to tell me why you are here and what do you want.” Ryuko straightened his posture, and his door was wide opened. Ryuko quickly closed the door then went back to his desk so he wouldn’t look insane. “I know you are here Lakorian. Now you have two options. Either you willingly turn yourself in, or I take you by force.” Ryuko c*cked his gun in intimidation.

Cornelia gulped when Ryuko pressed a button, not exactly sure what would happen. At least she could make a quick getaway if needed. She materialized, and waved awkwardly. “Um, hi?” She squeaked. “Ok, ok. I know you’re freaked out, but I come in peace. No, I’m not an alien. I know your girlfriend. It’s complicated, but she’s fine.” About as fine as you can be if you’re dead… Cornelia thought awkwardly.

Ryuko doubled back and pressed the button again to cancel the alarm. When the phone rang, he blankly called it off as a false alarm, and that he accidentally pressed the button. His face went blank and he put his pistol down along with the phone. His eyes were filled with shock. This happened just for a moment before his face tightened. “I have no girlfriend. I don’t even have friends, they are all aquaintances or co-workers. You must be thinking of someone else. Whatever it is, you are in a restricted area and you are not allowed to be here. Give me your cloaking technology.” He held his hand out to Cornelia, expecting her to give him a gadget. He slightly placed the picture of his girlfriend face down, so the newcomer would not see her.

Cornelia sighed quietly when Ryuko completely brushed off Cornelia’s comment about his girlfriend. He’s completely shut down. I think. she thought, shaking her head. Cornelia blinked in confusion when he told her to take off her cloaking technology. “I swear, I don’t have any. I mean it.” She said, knowing he wouldn’t believe her. She was completely serious, though. She stared at him, her dark eyes staring right at him, not blinking.

Ryuko looks at the girl and then her body I see your game…alright, lets play along He thought.
“You’re sick…it must be the air here.” He whispered. “You must be from Lakora but you got really sick…” He looked back into her eyes. “Are you here…because you need help?” Ryuko took a step towards her and reached for her chin so he could get a closer look at her eyes. “May I?” He whispered. Just get close, then slide the cuffs on. He thought.

Cornelia blinked when Ryuko assumed she was sick. Ah, I’ll just go with it. He doesn’t get why I’m really here, but I don’t know how to explain… Looks like she was playing sick. She nodded slowly, allowing him to touch her chin. She had no clue what he was planning, so she stayed alert. Besides, he couldn’t hurt her. He didn’t have the powers Zelda did.

Ryuko gently lifted Cornelia’s chin up so he could get a closer look at her eyes. “I’ve never seen a Lakorian get this sick.” He mumbled as he turned her chin to the side so he could see the details of her face. Her hair was white and her face was oddly smooth.

I should really arrest her…but she is such an enigma…but the tests they could run… Millions of thoughts ran through his head, but he made his decision. As he ‘examined’ her face, he slid a bracelet around her ‘wrist’ and turned on the magnet, letting it stick to the wall with her hand cuffed.

After a minute, Ryuko let go and turned his back to her, raising his hand to his chin as he pondered what to do next.

Cornelia was allowing Ryuko to touch her, knowing she could easily turn non corporeal if needed. He couldn’t actually hurt her, no matter how much he tried. She stood there calmly, watching as he handcuffed her to a wall. She had to resist the urge to snicker and roll her eyes. I’m just making you think it’s working. She thought.

After a bit, he turned around. “Something is telling me you aren’t actually sick. You can stand up straight, you look great despite your pale skin and your empty eyes…, and well…how could you make it so far from Lakora if you are really sick. How did you get here?” He questioned her.
“How did you make it past the security that’s here?”

Smart dude. He figured that out fast. Cornelia thought, before nodding. “Ok, ok, you got me. I’m not sick. I’m dead. That’s how I got here. I phased out of Lakora, and came here. The reason security didn’t get me is because I came directly into this room from Lakora. Do you get it?” She asked. She figured he probably didn’t, but she’d explain…or try to. “Oh, these don’t work.” She said, her arms going right through the cuffs.

Ryuko raised an eyebrow and grabbed a pen, chucking it at the girl. His eye twitched as it hit the wall, going through the girl. I guess I need the guys to start making ghost proof traps He sighed and sat on his desk. “Let’s say I believe you and that I believe you aren’t a Lakorian who has the power to teleport and uses illusions to make themselves opaque, why are you here? I don’t appreciate visitors, escpecially young, uneducated children.” He glared at the girl. I’m going to make her regret coming here… He thought half-heartidly. His hands tightened against the edge of the desk, making his knuckles turn white.

“I also do not appreciate being made into a fool.” He grumbled through his teeth, looking at the floor.

Cornelia blinked as Ryuko threw a pen at her. It harmlessly passed through her, and she raised an eyebrow at him. “You didn’t realize that wouldn’t work when the cuffs didn’t work?” She picked up the pen, tossing it back. Ryuko asked why she was here, and she was about to answer, then he called her an uneducated child. “I’m actually twenty-one. Believe what you will. Anyway, I’m here because your girlfriend asked me to check up on you…and I was bored. My friend was busy, so here I am.” Cornelia noticed that Ryuko looked embarrassed, and she added. “It’s not foolish if you’re learning about something you didn’t know. You’re only a fool if you’re told something over and over and can’t learn.” Cornelia was surprised at herself. She definitely wasn’t expecting to say that.
