🔮 Realms of Westeria 🧬 || Official Thread

New Day / Week One

Now that everyone knows a few characters, it’s time to expand to the larger world of Westeria. There are towns and cities to access during downtime, and specific shops for picking up gear, each attuned to the specific faction. Each time skip/new day cycle post will span about a week in RP time to give users the freedom to engage in their side quests that may take longer than a day. It also gives more room to run multiple adventures without forcing it all into the span of a few hours of daylight. The length of these segments will be longer than the initial celebration and there will be a poll by the end.

Marie and I will run quests. Characters can get caught up in one, or ask if that doesn’t happen.

There will also be a running recap blog post to recall all the recovered information for newer players and as a catalogue, as we continue on.

Lakora

Cadets are led to Brunspar Rift, a wide, open grassland with a lovely view of the ocean. Since it’s further than most cities, the magical energy is stronger here. The faction leader would like to remind cadets that on the actual battle field, the magical supply with being significantly lower, but it’s in places like this rift that they can practice the more complicated spells for the movement.

Lanvrn Terminal is where cadets start off. It’s an old decommissioned spaceport that’s more popular as for collecting scraps. Even though it’s officially unused, there is still a world of life revolving around the thousands of kilometres that it spans. Plenty of open ground for testing gimmicks. Here, cadets can explore inventions or throw together new ones.

Technology involving harnessing solar power for clean energy soon phased out due to the massive emissions slowly blotching out the sun.

The initial locations are just a place to start off and perhaps work on creating signature moves for your character. After hay, they can move on to new locations.

After talking to Cassander for a little longer, I went to sleep in the forest, while watching the party continue for a little longer.
The next day we moved away through the forest on to a new location and I couldn’t be happier to be back in the woods again. While most were walking on the ground, I ran from tree branch to tree branch while keeping up with them.
When we stopped near the coast I climbed higher into the tree and looked out over the area with a wide grin. I closed my eyes as I felt the find brush against my fur and hair. I took a deep breath before looking down, observing and watching the other creatures.

The conversation with Nova couldn’t help but stay in Fabian’s mind. It had been a long time since he’d spoken to someone, especially regarding a topic like war. Usually, he just spent time alone, having conversations in his own mind, without the need to speak to others. People were annoying anyway, what was the use? Although, he gained some information, which would prove to be useful. Amaranthae was a name he hadn’t heard before speaking to Nova, though she seemed interesting. Even if she just seemed like the type of person to use you for her own gain. Her deals seemed too good to be true, of course you’d lose more than you gain.

The next day, the cadets arrived at Brunspar Rift, giving them an opportunity to train for the war ahead. The scenery was fascinating, but so was all of nature. The magic in this open land was stronger, the force of it could be felt from deep inside. Although, sadly, his magic was best practiced when the moon is out. He wanted to step closer to the ocean, admire the beautiful scenery, but perhaps it was best to wait for the night. Seeing as how the many cadets would use this field for practice, it was best he laid low.

Fabian made his way to a tree nearby, sitting down under the shade. His gaze wandered across the field, admiring the view, until-

He tilted his head up, noticing a humanoid creature, sitting on the branches above.

“Who are you!?” he exclaimed, backing away from the tree for a better view.

The best part about the Torkken Fortress party is that no one got caught, so that was another to slide off the docket. When was the last some pulled off an event like that? Probably never because no one was as skilled. Bloody flawless that whole thing was, and considering everyone that came, of course, it was a success. The only aftermath was the painful amount of embarrassing moments that ended up online, but that happened with every major event. If anything, it was a memento to reflect upon.

Lanvrn, on the other hand, was significantly further away. Where Torkken Fortress was a classic local landmark, easily accessible for any resident really, this abandoned monstrosity was limited by the number of access teleporters in the region. All one could find here was poor souls, scavengers, and a whole tone of quality scraps—nothing like manufacturing without the stealing aspect. Honestly, the government never bothered to fix this place because of all the progress the citizens were running through here. Normal testing ranges for weapons were expensive for all the construction and cleaning. Here at this broken down terminal, no one would bat an eye if some laser pulled off a section of the ceiling.

Ironically, the only light in this place was from the broken bits in the sky. Even the emergency reserves were blotted out. It wasn’t a place one stayed in for the night, but it was a dream to find anything worthwhile here.

He wandered away from the group, using his boots’ energy to hover over the harder rifts and broken chunks. There were still outlines of old aeroships, all but useless now. It was a nice enclosure, probably what used to be one of the waiting rooms or checkout stations, and certainly perfect for testing his new weapons systems.

I was still taking in the view when I heard a voice below me. I looked and saw a guy with also snow-white hair and crystal blue eyes. Seeing how a conversation like this would be difficult, I jumped down, slipping passed all the branches, straight in front of him. I landed on the ground and took a step back to not be straight in his face. “I’m Charlie,” I said simply.

To Fabian’s surprise, the stranger jumped down from the tree, landing right in front of him. It was strange how someone could fall from such a height, yet still remain unhurt. And on top of that, do it so skillfully, that they didn’t even hit any branches.

The creature, now standing in front of him, looked like nothing he’d seen before. But of course, living away from people his entire life, there’s no way Fabian could’ve known. Either way, it was probably best to ask her. So what if they regarded him uninformed, or someone who’s lived under a rock? It was the truth, after all.

“Right, of course, Charlia.” he responded, regaining his calm composure after the shock. “What are you, exactly?”

I started to chuckle at his surprised and later calmer tone. “I’m a Costoterra” I said. “I’m a creature living in the woods, there aren’t a lot of us and we don’t usually interact with universal vocal speech, so it would be natural that you haven’t heard of my kind before” I reassured him as I’ve noticed most here haven’t. “So, who are you” I asked with a tilted head as I curiously moved my tail slowly back and forth.

The girl’s laughter made Fabian’s brows furrow, as his hands clenched into fists. He took a deep breath, calming himself down, before he did anything drastic. Being made fun of was nothing new, her opinion didn’t really matter anyway.

“I see. Must be nice to live in peace, away from society.” he responded. “But, what was so funny?”

Charlia seemed curious about his name, so he might as well tell her. He was nobody important anyway, what would she want with him? “My name’s Fabian. I’d assume you haven’t heard of me either, even if we are fighting for the same faction. I don’t exactly interact with other people, either.” he responded.

I looked at him in surprise. “Oh please don’t take my laughter as an insult, I didn’t mean to offend you in any way, it was just nice to see an honest reaction to something while I kind of expected most people here to not get startled quickly” I explain before I sighed and sat down across from him.

I smiled and touched the grass. “It has its perks, definitely, but you’re also disconnected from a large part of the land” I explain. "Which is why you shouldn’t take my oblivion of you personally, besides, there’s a huge advantage in not knowing’ I said. “People have no expectations of you,” I said.

“I’m not exactly looking forward to the fighting, but it is a really big opportunity for me to explore the land and be in contact with the creature I usually have to avoid” I explain. “So, pardon my curiosity, but are you a mage, or a different kind of creature?” I wondered.

Fabian’s face then turned slightly pink. “Startled!? I was not startled! It was just highly surprising how you managed to land without a scratch. I was amazed, that is all.” he responded. “I’m a cadet, I’m not supposed to feel fear.”

Charlia was right, it really did have an advantage. Though it was disappointing how people got a bad impression of Fabian, without any prior knowledge of him. He was usually aggressive and antisocial, which naturally, not a lot of people tolerated. Even if he was intelligent, it didn’t matter. “That’s true… I just wish I didn’t have to be around people.” he sighed. “Though, I wouldn’t want to be disconnected from nature. It truly is amazing.” he smiled, slightly.

“A mage.” he responded. “Though, my magic is barely functional without the moon.” He looked over at the sky, trying to spot the moon somewhere, though no luck. He was surprised at how much he had spoken in the past few days. Usually he spent time alone, though the party really did push him to socialize with others.

I smiled. “Doesn’t change the fact that the reaction was honest” I point out. “but you’re making a mistake if you think you’re not supposed to feel fear,” I tell him seriously.

I then grinned at him. “I think you may have been born as the wrong species,” I tell him and look around, I then gestured a creature that was hiding in a bush a bit away. it came over and it turned out to be a Nixone. “You would probably love it” I said and the Nixone curled up on my lap. “Such gentle creatures can be amazing companions,” I tell Fabian and the Nixone looked at me. “go on, he’s not going to hurt you” I reassured the little creature and it carefully made it’s way to Fabian.

“You draw your magic from the moon?” I asked curiously. “That’s really interesting,” I said. “what does moon magic look like?” I wondered. “I can’t picture anything with that” I added.

Yay finally decided to get my butt in gear and post.

~>>Cassander Aetheros<<~
Brunspar Rift

Cassander decided he was going to like it in this training area. It flowed with the strongest magical energy he had felt in Lakora yet. He felt like he could eliminate the enemy single-handedly if they fought in this rift. He wanted to manifest his powers and fight someone. The field was lovely and open and perfect for practice. Anastasia was never far from his side, and today was no exception. “Dear sister, would you like to spar?”

~>>Anastasia Aetheros<<~
Brunspar Rift

Anastasia was still thinking about the odd conversation she had had with the boy yesterday. She had never learned his name, she now realized. It was not as if it mattered. She could not make friends even if she wanted to. She was just intrigued because it was the first conversation in which someone had treated her kindly for a while.

Cassander startled her out of her thoughts. “Dear sister, would you like to fight?” Anastasia could see a lust for blood brewing in his eyes. She wasn’t afraid of getting hurt herself, but of what might happen to another cadet if she might refuse his request. She simply nodded. Cassander smiled.

BOTH

The siblings chose a spot and prepared for battle. Anastasia took off her jacket, folding it neatly and laying it to the side, as well as unlacing her boots and pulling off her socks. All she wore now was a simple black tunic and trousers. She would fight in bare feet. Other girls might have shivered in the crisp morning air, but Anastasia didn’t appear even mildly uncomfortable. She did nothing else to prepare, simply stood there, waiting.

Cassander took off jacket and shirt, leaving his trousers and boots on. He breathed in. Breathing out, his whole figure seemed to shake and morph. From his head sprouted two silver horns, rising gracefully at least a foot above his head while a silver tail snaked out several feet behind. His hands grew and morphed into pure black dragon claws. But the showstopper was the pair of wings that sprouted from his back, revealing the reason he had decided to shed his shirt, besides to show of his finely toned torso. The wings were at least twice as big as Cassander was, and pure black like his claws. He stretched them out, and his smile clearly expressed he was delighted to have them out. “Ready?” He called to his sibling. The girl nodded.

Anastasia now seemed to be dwarfed by her brother, who had already been taller, with his new magical additions. She looked defenseless and any passerby might have been tempted to intervene to stop the bout, to stop what looked to be shaping into a pummeling of the petite dragon. But no one did.

At Anastasia’s nod, Cassander attacked. With a powerful flap of his wings he launched towards Anastasia. She stood very still. At the last moment leaping of the way. Cassander flew past, unable to turn very quickly. Anastasia landed on the balls of her feet, finally taking up a fighting stance. Cassander charged again, and this time Anastasia met him head on. She swirled her arms and fire blossomed in the air, forming a shield for her which Cassander smashed into. He bounced off and looked dazed for a second. Anastasia used that second to dart away. Cassander attacked again, feinting to the left and then coming for his real attack on the right. Anastasia sent a tongue of fire after him on his feint, and he ended up sending her flying when her fire missed. One solid hit with his tail sent her flying through the air, skidding to a stop several meters away. She tried to push herself off the ground, but Cassander was already there, and his boot held her to the ground. “Checkmate,” he said.

Unknown cadet

Brunspar Rift

“Anybody wanna spar with me, huh?” The cadet asked as he flexed his muscles and several ladies fawned over him. “Come on, surely one of you wants the glory of fighting me. I know you will lose but I will win and that’s what’s important.”

“I will.” A small, shy 16-year old girl replied. The cadet and group of girls with him laughed loudly. “You? You’re a girl, and a young one. You won’t last two seconds against me…but I suppose since you’re the only one who wants to.” He broke away from the women and faced the young girl. The girl bowed to show respect. The second she did so, the guy smirked and threw two fireballs at the young girl. She stumbled and fell as the fireballs hit her. The cadet chuckled and the ladies laughed once again. She slowly got up and dusted off the rags she wore for clothing. “Please sir, just once more. I’ve been practicing for a long time.” The guy laughed, “Sure, kid. Just run off and leave me alone when you lose again.” Once again the girl bowed with respect and once again the guy threw two fireballs. This time the girl caught both, carefully combined them into one, and extinguished it. The guy raised an eyebrow with a smirk, “Not bad, kid.” He threw a bigger one at her and she swatted it aside with ease. Time for one of my favorite combos… He smirked and threw a bigger fireball as a distraction while he summoned a fire chain to wrap around the girl’s arms, leaving her unable to move them while they burned. Instead, the girl caught the fireball with her left hand and the chain with her right forearm. She threw the ball as if one were bowling straight at the guy’s legs while pulling the chain with her forearm at the same time. The guy fell as the girl whipped the chain of fire around in the air until the chain disappeared, morphing with into the now huge firestorm the girl was commanding with her bare hand.

image

The guy scrambled away in absolute terror at this young girl who was now chuckling and brought the firestorm down onto herself and changed her appearance with a shimmering hot coal colored red light.

Amaranthae put up her hair to keep it out of the way and adjusted the cape she wore with her functional armor from her many times as commander of various armies. She couldn’t decide between the armor she wore as a warrior queen and the one she has on now but then remembered she could always change whenever she wanted to. With a few words in another language and her hand in the air, a sword whooshed through the air and into her hand. She finished laughing, “Well, that was fun! Gets ‘em every time.” She looked at the cadets. “I believe a saw a dragon earlier, interesting but still needs some work. I merely wanted to see the shape of Magic’s Greatest Defenders, and oh my, to say the least. Well, that’s being generous.” She amended the last part.

As soon as we had found Andrea’s gun, I got out of the building and left. I just wandered the streets and then headed to my dorm to grab some stuff and then rejoined the group when they all headed off.

Once we arrived there I separated myself from the group as soon as I could and just looked around on the wastelands that were in front of us. I noticed Damien also going his own way and grinned.

I followed after him and once he stood still looking at an old aeroship, I walked to him and threw an arm around his neck. “Aren’t you suppose to make new friends?” I asked dryly. “I thought being a loner was my thing” I added. “Heard you had quite the party yesterday?” I went on.

I then looked at the aeroship. “Need help looking for materials?” I asked. “You never got rid of that prototype scanner in my eye,” I said and pointed at my eye.

“I’m more offended by the fact that you just insinuated that my party wasn’t an absolute banger compared to being a loner. That was the epitome of strategic planning so all of us wouldn’t get caught…wait, were you not there? No…Bryn what was possibly more important out there than illegally celebrating our recent victory?” He slid back in mock shock, giving the younger cadet a disappointed look. Then there was the secondary though that popped up that yeah, Bryn was kinda a loner. What the stars was he doing here then, aside from looking amazing with those custom cybernetics ~

Damien snapped out a scanner that wrung itself together from weaving pixels. Ah well, he had company now, double the chaotic energy.

“I was actually going to see if I could make one of these fly again. I know it’s a long shot, but imagine having our personal squad flagship. Soaring out of the sky and blasting those old witches away. It’s going to be a long project, and honestly, I don’t think the ship where run anymore. I’ll definitely need to bring back parts from home.”

He was eyeing one of the older battle class shuttles, which could easily be modified for their crew. The ‘easy’ part being the schematics, the actual building was the one that was going to take ages.

“But back to you Bryn, I might have completely forgotten about your scanner, so let’s make a new one. Name everything you want; I’ll throw it in there.”

I let go of him and shrug. “Oh I went…” I said with a grin. “…long enough for you not be able to tell me ever again to go to a party at least once because now I have” I said. “I even helped someone, aren’t you proud?” I asked sarcastically.

I then raised my eyebrow. “Even while we are on the road, you can’t sit still, can you?” I asked with a grin.

I then turned to him. “I don’t need anything, as always, you can add everything that’s useful for you” I said to him.

Past Day

This was very weird, almost unusual, the fact Echo noticed Eli’s body change. Winston distinctly remembers switching before he entered the party, but then again it could have missed a camera by the entrance. To fix this error, Winston would need to restart its system and let Eli’s brain get some rest.
"No! Well yes, not a personality glitch. More like a short flaw in my creation. I personally added modifications to myself, and as you can tell there are a few problems. " Winston lied, letting the alcohol inside Eli’s body and shutting down Eli’s brain cells. I’m going to let the alcohol hit you pretty hard, but in reality, I’m shutting down certain parts of your brain to make you faint. Don’t worry, your brain will be perfectly fine, maybe a little damage… But you learn from pain… haha!

“Well, you going to have to dig a little deep, for this story. For now, you can call me Elison.” Winston couldn’t feel the alcohol but from calculations, it was definitely working, “But we going to have to reschedule this date. I’m getting a little tipsy.”

A sudden light blue color came to Eli’s eyes as he fainted.

Present day

What the hell just happened? A sudden jolt to his brain had him up and running. He was in a room, very much fitting of an emo rouge with an unusual side hustle. Yes, a perfect explanation of the famous Selenium hotel.

“What’s next Winston,” Eli asked expecting a quick and fast response, “Hello?”
Weird, not a sound from Winston. It must still be rebooting from yesterday, so for now he was on his own. Well, not completely on his own, someone left a note telling him the meeting location for the cadets, probably a helpful senior cadet or maybe Echo?

The real question was how to get there, from the note it was a wonderland for creators but takes a minute to get there. His best bet was to find a vehicle that could reach Lanvin without any breaks, or else he’ll be late for the second time.

“Of course!” The same black bike called Eli, it wanted him to ride her, so ride her he must. Gripping her hard, Elison took off, where did I learn to ride like this? He questioned not once remembering being this good at riding. Maybe this was his spark, an unusual glow but nevertheless, the spark that made him arrive somewhat on time, and standing right in front of his bike were two cadets.

“Sorry, this is Lanvrn Terminal right?” An old sound left Eli’s voice, technically these are the first people he has ever talked to, “not to barge in but if this is the place. I also need some new gear. Mainly explosives…”

Genevieve walked alongside the bank of the ocean the calm waves crashed against the damp grass swallowing the few flowers amongst the surface before receding back into the large pool of water it came from, exhaling a mildly irritated sigh she took a moment to recollect her thoughts…merely working at La Lapine for years on end and now facing a war between two completely different locations. Two different settings, two different mindsets and two different goals that just so happened to clash against one-another. wonderful.

Weaving between small groups of people who were conversing or sparring a bit too much the only thing that brought a little smile to her face was the abundance of magical energy thriving in the rift. If anything a battle should be held here- Any Lakora folk would be high-powered and filled with creative opportunities with this much access to magic. Regardless she summoned her spell book with that a quick spell incantation a lounge chair sprung from her spell as she plopped down on the seat and crossed her legs, taking in the warm sun and pondering the impending situation.

Fighting was indeed up her ally- In fact it was one of her favorite tasks considering her active life as a bounty hunter for money. Did it harm her social life? Occasionally but she never truly cared. Either that or finding mesmerizing trinkets at the local market seemed more interesting than trying to find some super special item that would grant immortality or something of that sort- whatever rumor was going on that day never phased her. She made her money and she continued her lifestyle.

Caden remembered the “party” he had in Torkken Fortress, how blinding the decorations were and the chaos that came with all the cadets being in an objectively huge club. However, they were now all heading towards Lanvrn Terminal, a place that could make any garbage dump look glamorous. It remained hidden and mostly inhabited, say for the few beggers that resided in the terminal. The Professor noticed a man splitting off from the group, then followed by another man. He also noticed Jade and Margaux, both of which he had talked to at the Torkken Fortress. Caden wanted to split up with the group as well; no one had the level of chemical weapon expertise that he did, and besides, scraps were always good for constructing new weapons. Filled with determination, he also split up with the group and went off to a corner to look for new thrusters he was going to use to build a rocket machine. Using his energy powers coming from his hand, he started rummaging, hoping no one would come up and interrupt him.

Penelope went to the Selenium party but quickly left after a few minutes. She didn’t want to be around drunken fools hoping to escape everything. If it was a smaller gathering where everyone was seated, then maybe she would have considered staying. Besides, she only went to sniff out the newbies. Now, the cadets were at Lanvrn Terminal where everyone was testing out their weapons and gathering parts. Since she did not get a chance to observe everyone, she figured today would be a good enough start. Plus, she had to get some new parts for her rifle to fix the stability of it. If there was a chance to skip out on paying for new materials, she was going to take it. When she got inside the terminal, she began rummaging in areas where there were few people first. Then she started digging near a man that was by his lonesome. “Find anything yet?” She asked curiously.
