Shadow Creek: Blacklisted

9:00am, Wednesday 27th September, 2006 - Fernwood Heights

The initial shock of Charlotte Blackwell’s death had began to wear off, leaving significantly less for our suspected seniors to hide behind. What had once been wide eyes of disbelief and insistence on it not being real, had softened into something quieter and far more uncomfortable. Whatever had happened to Charlotte Blackwell was no longer a distant, unspeakable thing, it was everywhere. In the quiet of classrooms, the glances exchanged between students who knew more than they were saying, from students that would watch and notice everything. Suspicion now existed beside the grief. And with that, an obsessive focus on whatever fact or nonsensical theory came next that they could cling onto in search for the truth.
