or foster parents sent him away
dead siblings…
maybe dad is convinced a monster killed sister so he got sent to boarding school to try and track down a lead/dad just forgot him there

I mean what if he was a senior but got seriously hurt or ill mid term and had to go to hospital a lot and he can’t keep going to school so basically a second half of his year. So this year he has to go to the last year again but only for the second half

Yeah, but did he stop her? He probably also forgot he doesn’t like the sound of his own name because he didn’t mind it when it came from her lips. He’d probably cringe if anybody else called him Lav, but here he forgot that …
