I hate when they just randomly turn someone psycho evil. Some writers don’t know how to make complex characters and just decide to turn someone evil out of the blue to create drama. I hate this to the max.
Cheating. It’s cheap and imo when it happens the characters become irredeemable for me. I used to be obsessed with Riverdale, but they recently had a cheating subplot and I just had to quit watching it. I can’t stand that.
100%!!
I hate when cheating is glorified, or when they ‘just can’t help it’. Yes, you can. If you are in a relationship, there’s no excuse for that. Break up with your partner if you don’t think you can be faithful to them.
Sexual assault in episode story that serve no purpose. Sexual asault Is a very traumatic experience that people all over the world go through, it can cause severe mental issues and can take years to get through.
Oof yeah. Can’t tell you how many stories I’ve read that they had something super traumatizing happen to them, then have the writers just use it so that the LL can take “care” of them and it’s only actually traumatizing for like a day in the story.
thankfully it’s almost never the super bad r word but like, I’ve read a story where this dude almost did the unspeakable r word to this MC and then the bad boy comes in, breaks the bad guy’s neck and saves the day- (if you can get that reference you’re my new favorite person). Then it’s literally never mentioned again, the dude that almost did the unspeakable didn’t even go to jail and it wasn’t mentioned of them even worrying about that and the MC didn’t even give it a second thought.
I have to agree with everything, especially with cheating and random pregnancy! But what really turns me off is when mc and li get together and right after that one of them gets into some kind of an accident and loses their memory!
