none of these things would be useful in combat
you will have to get it back, which means that they really only work best as a last resort
thanks for your help
all of the weapons with the thrown attribute i believe throwing is optional, but it’s not necessarily a feature that you would want to prioritize
Given that a longbow is “heavy,” it would probably make the most sense (especially considering how big longbows are) to trade that out for a similar weapon such as a shortbow, light crossbow, or hand crossbow (although annoyingly those options cost different amounts)
Eh, who cares. As though the starting equipment prices are remotely balanced in that game
We could also just say that she has a special bow with the properties of a longbow, but it’s just scaled down
to that
But like cooking is a survival skill at least
Flutes sound pretty but if they can’t lure monsters then useful why
perhaps, although the extent to which the proficiency helps you might just be in making more gourmet foods, as cooking food isn’t really a major concern in the game
on the other hand, you might want to earn some money playing an instrument or crafting something (probably the intent of the artisan’s tools and musical instrument proficiency)
you could also definitely use a flute as a distraction
Hmmm okay
GASP I COULD
So that’s basically luring the monster away then be like “ooh look at me pretty silver thing and pretty noise”
Ooh ooh okay okay I want flute then
you’d still have to roll for its effectiveness but yes
so you get 2 of the following skills (and more later with background )
- acrobatics, athletics, history, insight, religion, and stealth
and your starting equipment is
- a shortsword or any simple weapon (all the ones i listed for duckling above + a few more)
- a dungeoneer’s pack or and explorer’s pack
- 10 darts
Religion? What does that do?
it’s a knowledge check, so you’ll use it when rolling whether or not you know information about some religion or cult, or something religious essentially
i swear it comes up a fair amount
LMAO I was wondering about its frequency
What does insight do? And also what’s a mess kit—in one of the backpacks?
a mess kit comes with the explorers pack and is just a set of stuff to eat food
if you’re investigating something
I’m not sure what you mean, like filtering water and stuff like that?
Ooh okay
And what is insight for?
oof sorry i skipped that one
it’s used to detect the intentions of a creature (usually to assess whether they’re lying or not)
like plates and utensils
yES
Okay, so two right? So, I’ll choose insight and acrobatics then
OHH okayyy yeah this boy is civilized Imma take the explorer pack then
yep, two
alright so stats timeeee
