What are you stuck on?

The MC customisation. HAHA. It’s sooo time-consuming.

You could always do limited customization!

HAHAHA. It sort of is… sorta. So I have a look in mind that I want for the characters and who they are. Though I know readers love CC. So I’m doing it, but with a cost. First, you get to pick between two characters (one to play through from their PoV) and then you are asked if you wanna customise. BUT… it costs gems.
Make sense?

How many gems? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Quite a few, ā€˜cause I really don’t want them to be changed. (pouts)

Go for 12, then.

Nah, 'cause I was gonna do another one later that was about 12.

Oh. 17?

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I was gonna do one that is 12 at the end of the episode. This one will be a choice as to if you want to play through the episode again but as the MC you did choose. Plus, I was thinking of giving the option of CC for a love interest down the track, but if you paid for the MC CC then it’d be free. You know, so it’s fairer and not too expensive.

That is a great way of implementing gem choices! That’s so smart

Phew. Was worried you were disapproving there for a second.

I’ve never liked gem choices overall (I don’t use them in any of my stories, if you use skip-the-wait or EA I am not reading your story) but you’re using interactivity and customization with a love interest choice to go with it. That’s really smart!

That’s fair. I’m not either, especially not (ages ago) when I used to read Episode’s stories and it was either the gem choice or a crap choice. Also, still not totally sure what skip-the-wait or EA are either. HA. But yeah, I’ve noticed that gems properly mean something now in Episode. So using them is better but so I want them to mean something but not be sh^t if you don’t use them. That’s why using them for me is either an extra bonus or in a choice where you also have a good and bad option if you don’t want to spend gems (so 3 options).

Yeah. EA and skip-the-wait are… complicated, to say the least. But gems will put you up there in terms of rank. As long as you make readers feel included, that’s alright.

Complicated how?

How they work. Basically EA is like ā€œyou get to read this episode but with gems!ā€ And skip-the-wait is like a waitlist for new episodes, the longer the wait time is, the more gems the readers have to pay.

YIKES! That sounds horrible.

It is! It’s unfair to readers and authors alike. That’s why I don’t use it

Yeah, I get that. I wasn’t going to use it 'cause I didn’t know how to or what it was. But now, I just don’t want to even if I did know how.
