At Jax’s Party
Luke felt himself beginning to have a panic attack. It was something he never had before, and he could feel a shortness of breath coming on. “Wren, Excuse me. I need to go to the bathroom.” He said as he released her shoulders. He walked down the narrow hallway towards the bathroom, but he could feel everything twisting and blurring around him. He squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head but it wasn’t working. When he got into the bathroom, he immediately went into one of the stalls and closed the door and let out a deep breath. He gripped the walls of the stall and swallowed hard. He didn’t hear anyone or see anyone in the bathroom when he came in, so he slowly left the stall and walked to the bathroom sink and leaned against it.
Luke’s Inner Monologue:
Was gettin’ engaged a mistake?.. What if I really like guys…But that’s not true…just because it started after… Enzo…No, no no. I forgot all about him - that guy…Then the Jonas…and Artemis thing…this is so stupid… I’m already gettin’ cold feet. What will Wren think of me or everyone else? My mom? If I cut this off… But I love her…
Luke looked at himself in the mirror. Was he a monster?
The Day After The Parties
Luke was posting lovey dovey stuff about Wren on Instagram the whole morning. He also made love to her after the party ended in their hotel room and in the morning in her dorm, but he needed to go back to St Andrews. He got dressed and put on an outfit that looked like a cowboys get up but still subtle. He still wanted to fit into school and the way everyone dressed around him. He learned how to do that for the most part. While walking down the hallway, he spotted Albert sitting in the common room typing on his phone. Luke debated going over there since that was his friend but he also wanted to get back to school before class started. Then he remembered the fight he almost had with his cousin. He walked over to him and put his hands in his pockets. Then he sat down. "Hey man, how’s everything going with Piper? Did things settle down?"He remembered when they went on a double date with botb of their girlfriends and it turned out fun. He didn’t want them to break up but deep down he also wanted advice about his own relationship with Wren. He felt like Albert was one of tbe people that could truly understand. He couldn’t really talk about this with his other guy friends Tucker, Kurt, Elias, Jonas, Holden Benji and Cane. Most of them were also new to the school and new friends. Albert was the only one he could truly trust.
